I am back again with another creation. This time I am using a previously used sketch from Freshly Made Sketch #318.
This sketch is really simple and that suits the recipient of this card down to the ground. This card is actually going to my Husband’s Uncle. I am the only adult in the family that is still allowed to address him as “Uncle”. Everyone else over the age of 18 gets to address him by his given name but I have always addressed him as Uncle and I always will.
This card also follows the Catch the Bug Challenge December Bingo
as you can tell from the photo I used the top line for my BINGO. I really like these challenges it makes you think about how to put your card together – with some guidelines.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. As always before you leave my blog I would love to leave you with this thought:
Good to remember this in the hard times. Sometimes you have to face into the wind and keep going.
Tell me what do you get when you make lots of cards that are shorter than your pretty papers? Any ideas (think)
A: Lots of paper strips. I was at a loss as to what to do with all of these until I looked at the CAS(e) this Sketch challenge and found this challenge going at the moment.
So I was able to use up a lot of my strips and since I had all the supplies out I ended up making 2 cards at the same time. This is a photo of one of the creations:
It’s a simple card but I really like it. I think I am going to have to keep this sketch in mind for using up other scraps I have in my stash. Yeah I know I should probably just throw away any scraps – but I don’t like wasting any of my beautiful papers.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation today. And as always before you leave I would like to leave you with this thought:
This is definitely my prayer for the coming year. May the New Year be so much more loving than 2017. Best Wishes to you all.
As you can see by my being back again with another card I decided what I was going to do after my last post. Well actually Lunch happened between these 2 posts. I was having much fun card creating today that I didn’t feel like stopping. I always say “Make while the body allows!” – I have a bad back which prevents me from sitting in the same chair for long periods of time (no matter the type of chair).
I am still working towards the Christmas Cards I need for 2018. I have a stack already which is nice to be in front for once. I won’t have to binge make Christmas cards come November next year ((((Happy Dance))))
So anywho – here is the latest of my creations:
As you can see I made 2 cards using the same sketch – doing this every now and again also helps with building my pile 😀
Both of these cards use papers and toppers from Kaisercraft Christmas Carol 6X6 paper pad. I still have so much Christmas paper left I definitely don’t need to buy any more for awhile. I am sure that it multiplies while you aren’t around using it.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. Before you go I would like to leave you with this parting thought from my favourite hound Snoopy:
This is such a good thing to do. Learn from yesterdays lessons, Live in the present and Look forward to what tomorrow will bring.
May you all have a Happy Crafty Fun Filled kind of Day,
Hello Everyone, I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was very low key this year but it was spent with family and friends. First friends at our Church service and then family in Toowoomba, Queensland.
Have you organised your New Years Eve plans yet? I plan on going to our church’s Hope service. It’s a prayer service where we bring in the New Year together praying over our family, friends and Hopes for the coming year.
Today I felt like sitting at my card crafting table and making some cards. This is one of my efforts:
I loved looking through my stamp pile to try and find a Christmas Image that would suit a non-Christmas Card. I found this stamp set
This set if from the wonderful magazine Creative Stamping and this was issue #50. Aren’t the images adorable!! I loved how they included the Chill Out sentiment and other so that this set could be used for all types of different occasions. I am really happy with how this card turned out.
Well I’m off to make more craft!! Either cards or I do have that weaving project I have waiting for me or I might just chill out with my kids. But before you leave please consider leaving a comment or hitting the like button.
And as always I want to leave you with this parting thought:
Have a Happy Crafty Fun Kind of Day
I won over at the Time Out Challenge for this card. What a lovely Surprise!
I am enjoying making Christmas cards but I think the main reason I am liking the process is because I am working towards Christmas 2018. So I took the opportunity to join in with the Color Throwdown #473 combination.
And I thought I would try making a Christmas card using not so traditional colours – taking me out of my comfort zone and this is the result.
I had this pink Christmas Tree background and thought it would go well with the challenge. The image is from JustME Digital Designs on Etsy. This adorable Llama can be purchased here. I am having so much fun designing with this image – it’s becoming a firm favourite. The image and the background had some colouring done with Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. Please consider leaving a comment and even liking my creation. But before you leave I would like to leave you with this thought:
This is just a good way to live life. I am trying to be more like this through my walk in life.
I am trying to make some cards with a bit of difference for my Christmas Cards. I am actually starting on the 2018 batch of cards now. I finally got enough made for this years bunch so I decided to get a head start on next year. Because I have been reminded this year that what you plan doesn’t always work out – especially long term plans.
Any who onto the card which I’m sure is your main reason for stopping by my little blog today.
Isn’t this such a cute image – well actually we are looking at the merging of 2 images from 2 different companies. We have Cute Dog which is a freebie from All Dressed Up Images and you can get this image here. And the presents stamps came from CC Designs but is now retired.
This card was influenced by 3 different challenges and they are
My most favourite way to start a card – with a sketch. And I love those from the talented designers at Freshly Made Sketches.
then I found
Cute Card Thursday has Festive Colors as their #508 Challenge
So I first combined the images plus the sentiment together and printed them off and coloured it up with my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils. I fussy cut around the image and matted the whole image onto a square of black paper. I decided to go a more masculine route with this card but it could be sent to a family as well. Using up more of my Christmas papers – these papers I am going to miss when I finish using up the pack. And that was it.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. Please consider liking my post and leaving a comment. But before you leave as always I would like to leave you with this following thought:
As I reflect on what 2017 has bought into my life.
A lot of good has come of it: going to my craft group more often, restarting this blog, surviving my cancer journey and my Son settling into his new school.
Some bad has come as well: the passing of my Mum, my cancer surgery, other health problems
So now I am looking into 2018 and what it may bring my way.
Another Christmas card finished but this time around a very simple understated card. There are some people on my card list that don’t like a lot of fuss or anything. So I tried to go simple and under stated and this is what I came up with.
I am actually quite please with how this turned out and I definitely will not have to pay any access postage on this card.
As with most of my cards this one started out with my searching for a sketch that I would like to use and this sketch from CASe this Sketch
was just the ticket. I could have fun with it and I can see this becoming a favourite of mine. To make this card I used an old Sizzix Christmas Tree Large die to make a stencil and stuck it down to the paper using some painters tape. Then I got out my Peeled Paint Distress Ink and a sponge dauber and using the cut out from making the stencil I sponged the Ink up the tree to give it a little dimension.
Once I had completed this I used a pink sparkle pen to make the tinsel and I found some iridescent circle stickers of various sizes in my stash which I used to represent the baubles. I then used my Cuttlebug to cut from gold paper the words using the Kasiercraft Christmas Word Dies. Once this was adhered and before I put it on the card front I sponged around the edge of the card base using the same Distress Ink I used on the tree and that completed my very simple card.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. And as always I would love to leave you with this thought before you go:
Unfortunately this is me at the moment.
I have so much to accomplish but I have no desire to do what I have too so I am doing what I want to do instead! Anybody else do this?
