I told you that I would be back for a 2nd post. I am sitting at my dining room table trying to get this done before my foot hates being inside the “Moon Boot” too much. So this post is going to be short and sweet.
This is one of the digital stamps from the Wreath: Boxwood and Cranberry set. I liked this set because it is different from a lot of other Christmas stamp sets. I again used my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils to colour in the image and brushed over the image with my Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I didn’t really like the starkness of the white and this I think finished it off nicely.
Again I am entering in the Power Poppy and PageMaps Combination Challenge:
this time I chose to use the January 2018 Square Map
I hope that you like my interpretation of the sketch. As I said in my previous post now that I have been introduced to PageMaps I will definitely be back to look at the coming designs.
Once again thanks for stopping by my blog today. Before you go of course I need to leave you with this thought:
Enough said! Except You are never too old for Garfield and He often makes a lot of sense …. Just saying.
Have a Happy Crafty Garfield Kind of Day,
Yes I am using my laptop after sitting at my card making desk! (((YEAH))) Wondering why I am celebrating check out my “Why am I missing?” post.
It felt so good to be at my desk that I actually made 2 cards for the same challenge but using 2 different sketches. And along with the card crafting I actually felt like doing some colouring as well. But my foot is feeling a little sore now from being down for so long – well actually it hates being in the boot!!
Any-who onto the card!
This image Heart Melt is from Power Poppy and its part of the Va-Va Valentine Collection. Isn’t it great! I loved it as soon as I saw it I had to colour it up for the
Power Poppy & Page Maps Collaboration Challenge
So as you can see I used this Horizontal card map
Now that I have been introduced to this company I will be stopping by often to see the new “Maps” that they come up with. This is one of my favourite places to start when making a card project.
The image was coloured with my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils, I love using this colouring medium.
(I hope to be able to take up colouring classes with Alyce from Kit and Clowder again one day so that I can improve even more. I can highly recommend any of the classes presented by Alyce. She is the BEST teacher on the internet by far!! What you pay is worth so much more than she charges.)
Since I made this card for my Hubby for Valentines Day I decided to use more masculine papers too make the actual card. So good to use up some stash papers.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. Before you leave as always I would like to leave you with this thought
In the last 6 months I have experienced all of this and it is through the love of my God plus my family and friends that I am able to keep moving forward. Even if at the moment it is at a slow pace.
Have a Happy Crafty Fun Filled kind of Day,
You may have noticed that I haven’t uploaded anything to my blog for quite a while. Well I’m here to update you as to why …. the following picture should answer a lot.
Yes that is a “Moon Boot” on my foot.
How – you may be asking!
Well I slipped on a bath mat as I was coming out of the shower on our first night being away on the Sunshine Coast.
After my Husband drove me to Nambour Hospital- a half hour drive- not much fun while in pain. I found out that I bruised my whole right foot, dislocated 2 toes and also broke those 2 toes as well. My foot has been all wonders of colours as the bruising has been coming out. And I have to see the fracture clinic at the Princess Alexandra Hospital Fracture clinic.
Unfortunately I am unable to sit at the desk that I use for card crafting – so that is going to be a non happening activity for quite a while. So I hope to be back again as soon as I can get to my table – or if someone can come up with a solution that can help me card craft on my bed I would love that.
PUBLIC AWARENESS ANNOUNCEMENT!!
Just a heads up for anyone who hasn’t had to wear one of these things –
THEY ARE HEAVY!!
My husband actually weighed it and it is over a kilo in weight. And my sand shoe (my usual footwear) is only 2% of that weight – so no wonder my leg gets tired!!
And I bet if you are a regular to my blog you know what is coming ….. that’s right my quote/saying to make you think!!!
I have to keep telling myself this at the moment. I am only at the beginning of a long path to travel. But its not the end of my journey. I will return to my normal routine and then I can move forward on my own two feet.
Hope you have a Happy, Crafty, No Breaks kind of Day,
I am back with another Christmas Card – I just can’t seem to stop making them 🙂 Looks like I will have enough by the time I have to post them out this year.
This card was actually made with 3 different challenges in mind.
First off we have Catch The Bug Challenge Anything Goes
and then I loved the Stella Says Sketch Challenge #601
and last but not least – AAA Cards #106 Quote
The image is Christmas Word – Joy which you can purchase here from Bugaboo Digital Stamps. This is one of my favourite Christmas stamps. But I have coloured it in with some Copics – these markers are not new to me but I have never gotten along with them 2018 though is going to be the year that either I become comfortable with them or I am going to have to sell them. I can not have such a huge investment sitting around doing nothing if I’m not going to use them.
The paper I used behind the main image I coloured with simple children’s markers in an Adult colouring book. I have a lot of pages that I have coloured and I have decided that instead of them sitting around gathering dust I am going to use what I can in my card making and other paper crafts. So I get twice the enjoyment out of them – 1st when I am colouring the page and 2nd when I re-purpose them into another project. 😀
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project today. As always before you leave I would like to leave you with this thought:
Have a Happy Crafty Fun filled kind of Day,
Welcome to 2018. We are already 4 days in and I am already wishing that we were in February 😦 I can deal with high temperatures but not the humidity. Feeling like a limp rag doesn’t exactly prompt you to do much.
But I am lucky to have air-con in my house so I have been able to continue to craft – which I am truly grateful because I really cant deal with not being able to do any of my stress relieving activities.
Anywho – onto the card
Aren’t these penguins just the cutest? Once I saw this image that I had used my watercolour pencils on ages ago I knew I had to use it on a card. And crafting with these cool colours helped with being so hot. I am having so much fun making some Clean and Simple cards. This cards inspiration came from 3 challenges.
And first was the card sketch Freshly Made Sketches #318
and then Cards in Envy – Winter Chills Challenge
and also Shopping Our Stash – Watercolor With Us
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card creation. Please consider joining in on any of the challenges. As always before you leave I would like to leave you with this thought:
I am having to do this more and more of late. I wonder how much I will have to abide by this during the coming year?
Have a Happy Crafty Fun filled kind of Day,
Well Hello everyone,
The new year is only a couple of days old and I am thinking about what this year has in store for me and my family. There are things that I know about – my DS is starting Year 10, my DD is graduating from Uni in May, I have surgery in front of me but I don’t know when that will be and we have some time away as a family planned.
All of my crafting clubs will be restarting soon as will the card challenges. I am actually looking forward to getting together with my Spin Sisters (Fiber Spinning with a wheel not Exercise Spin Bike) we talk all things Fiber – and look at new projects that we are all working on. We also work on other craft projects as well. This is such a fun and uplifting environment to be in – being there always makes my week go so much better.
I am also looking forward to making more cards and joining in on challenges. These have been so much fun and they get the old brain cells working. Completing a challenge helps me to feel like I am achieving things. This helps a lot with feeling good about what is going on around me 🙂
So I look forward to seeing you all in Blogland over the coming year. May this year bring forth for you all that you work towards – no matter what that may be.
Have a Happy Crafty Fun filled kind of Day,
