Hello everyone, Yes I am back again. Once I started creating with my stencils I couldn’t stop. I am really happy with how this card turned out. Another type of card that I have a hard time creating – masculine themed cards. But I think that they do lean towards a more subtle type of card.
I hope that it was OK to use 2 different stencils for this challenge. This card came to mind while I was making my previous card. I knew the image I wanted to use and then I found the Rays Stencil by Kasiercraft and a Homemade Cloud stencil. I used Wild Honey, Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans Distress Inks for the sponging.
I am really happy with the results and I hope that you like my project as well. I want to thank you for stopping by my blog today. And as always before you leave I want to leave you with this thought:
This is so good. I live to Love, Laugh and Crochet (well Craft)!
Today may you Love, Laugh and Craft your life!
The card that I am sharing with everyone today is for a very special lady, my Mother-In-Law Alison, and I wanted to try my had at clean and simple. I find clean and simple hard to achieve – Do you think I achieved this?
I love stencils! I have a folder full of them but sometimes I forget that they are there But I got out a favourite stencil – Crafters Workshop Open Flowers and since my MIL loves aqua I chose to use Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and a sponge dauber.
For the sentiment I used a Happy Birthday Die that I got from a magazine – isn’t it pretty. I cut this out using my Cuttlebug and some aqua card stock and some black card stock. Before cutting these out I put some double sided adhesive paper on the back of each to make attaching these to the card a lot easier.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project today. And as always I would like to leave you with this thought:
Oh this is so true. I was questioning trying this style of card but I ended up having so much fun. Because I was sitting at my craft desk and I appreciate any time I get to spend here.
Have a Happy Crafty Soul Growing Kind of Day,
Hello everyone, I had so much fun with sketch #285 by Chrissy from CASe this Sketch that I decided to make more cards using that sketch. Since I will be receiving my new Stamp and Colour Kit from Uniquely Creative in the not to distant future ((((happy dance))) I decided to have some fun with a past kit. These very cute Aliens will still be used on future projects because I just cant get enough of them!
Here is a picture of the sketch that I was in
To make this card I used products from the Stamp and Colour Kit for April 2018 called Out of This World. These kits are packed full of wonderful products and inspiration on how to use them as well.
I used my Distress Ink and handmade cloud type stencil to make the background behind the aliens. The grass was made using a die that was part of the kit.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and looking at my project. And as always before you leave I would love to leave you with this final thought:
If I am not here posting then you can usually find me somewhere either playing colour pencils or my yarn! I am not that often found not doing something.
Have a Happy Crafty Productive Kind of Day.
Anyone who has visited my blog before today will know how I love to combine challenges especially a colour and sketch challenge. And I have gone with 2 of my favourite challenge sites – Color Throwdown with Combo #506 with Lisa and CASe this Sketch #285 with Chrissy. Here are the photo inspiration and sketch
To pull this card together I searched through my stash of paper pads and found this lovely set and knew that it was the perfect match for the color challenge. I am still learning how to add mating to layers and also a new cutter … we are not of full talking terms yet. But I am super happy with how this card turned out.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today and looking at my project. And before you go I would love to leave you with this thought:
I love this movie it is a favourite of mine. And I love this quote as well. I try to find an element of fun in most things. If you are enjoying what and where you are at then it helps to get you through. And crafting is definately fun – I don’t have to find my happiness in this activity!
Time for me to post up another combination challenge card that I have made. I loved the sketch #283 by Donna from CASe this Sketch that I decided to make a card straight away and I combined it with the Color Throwdown #504 using the colours Black, Copper and White.
And this is the card that I came up with using these challenges
and the information from the challenges
It was the sketch that started this card off. When I saw it I knew the image that I wanted to use. This is Space Man by DigiStamp Boutique but it has been retired but I still like it. When I went searching through my stash though I couldn’t find any copper or rust paper or card stock so I had to improvise and made my own. I had a Copper Brilliance Ink Dew Drop so I dragged this across some white card stock and heated it to dry it faster. Then I used my star punch to make the star field.
When I went to put my Space Man on the starry paper I found that it looked weird just hanging there so I made a frame using a stitched square die but the next size down was too small so I cut around the inside of the die to give me the size of frame I was happy with. And this just completed the card nicely. The sentiment stamp is from the Out of This World stamp set by Uniquely Creative.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. As always before you depart I would love to leave you with this final thought
I was sure that this past week was here to break me. But I am still here despite everything because I looked to my Lord who gave me verses from the Bible just when I needed them most. He has also surrounded me with wonderful people who help me to get through even when I feel like I am breaking. Here is one of the verses I was given:
PSALM 116 verse 7
Be confident, my heart, because the Lord has been good to me.
