Purple Birthday Greetings

Hello Everyone,
I was able to make a 2nd card for the Stella Says Sketch Challenge but it is also suitable for the Shopping Our Stash Challenge – Fabulous February celebrating everything about February which includes it having Violets and Amethyst all Purple things 🙂

If you have been a visitor of my blog for a while you will know that I love working with sketches. But you may not also realise that I also love Purple as well so this challenge came in perfectly. So this is the card I came up with when I combined the challenges.

Another image that I have had sitting in my container waiting for a card to be right for it. The colouring of the image drove the colour choice that I went with. I had this pack of 1 colour plus white details sitting in my paper pad stash. And this is the sketch from Stella

Stella Says 704

This time the whole card has gone portrait instead of landscape but everything was driven by the digi image from Bugaboo Digital Stamps. I used a birthday embossing folder for the top part of the sketch just to give a little interest to this area.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. I really appreciate the visits, likes and comments that I receive on my blog posts. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

So true

AHSC Sketch 305

Hello Everyone,
Today I am bringing you a card as part of the Design Team for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (AHSC). And this is the sketch that we got to play with this time around.

AHSC 305 Feb 25th DT

This is such a fun sketch to play with. When I originally saw this sketch I was going to use a doily for the scalloped element but I search my stash and I didn’t have one :O I thought that my stash had everything 😉 But anyway this is the card that I made with this sketch

ahsc-305.jpg

This image is from a card making magazine and I stamped the bird, eggs, and flower image once and then I stamped the flower part of the image twice more. By doing this I was able to layer up the flowers to give a fuller look. I coloured in everything with my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils, I have a love hate relationship with this colouring medium but I think that I just need to spend more time working with them.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project. I hope that you will come on over to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog and join with us in using this sketch. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Don’t wait

Retro Birthday

Hello Everyone,
A birthday card that I think would be suitable for almost anyone. It is so good digging into my image collection and using those that haven’t been out in a while. And this is the card that I made

02 23 Camera Birthday

The making of this card was inspired by 2 challenges – a theme and a sketch. The theme comes from Time Out Challenges

and the sketch is from Stella @ Bugaboo Challenges

Stella Says 704

With my card I did change the orientation of the image but this was only because of the image that I decided to use with these papers. These papers are from an older Kasiercraft Paper Pad called Happy Snaps. I knew that I had this paper pad in my stash when I decided to used this camera image for the “Retro” theme. I am unsure where this image came from as I have lost the packaging that it came with. I coloured in the elements with my Copic markers.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. I appreciate all of the visits, likes and comments on my projects. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

February Stash Challenge

Hello Everyone,

It is week 4 of the month which means our host had a choice between a technique or a stash challenge. And Alison chose to go along with a stash challenge and that challenge is

A technique

I must admit that when I saw it as a technique I didn’t know what to do so I went with it as a stash challenge. To look into our stashes and have a find those pieces that we just had to keep for a project sometime in the future. Well this is the challenge for you to use that stuff!

And this is the card that I came up with

52CCT 02 2019 wk4 Stash

So how did I complete the challenge – well I had these trees that I had cut at a friends place and these were made out of embossed paper doilies which were left over from a party. And the sentiment came from an older paper pack but good for any Christmas card.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Design Team project. I hope to see your entry into our challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. Before you go though I would like to leave you with this thought

I just had to go with this today. It gave me a laugh again when I read it and it always does. Sometimes you just need something to make your day a little brighter.

Birthday Travels

Hello Everyone,
I have had a productive couple of days but I have only now had the time to upload my creations to my blog. So here is another card that I have been able to make. The card this time around is based just on 1 challenge but I used up supplies that were still sitting on my desk from my previous card which meant that it didn’t go into my drawer of left overs. And this is the card that I came up with

02 22 Birthday Travel

As you can see I used the same backing papers that I used in the previous card but this time everything is matted with brown lightweight card stock.

Yes it is the same sketch as well from the previous card as well. I liked it so much that I wanted to have some more fun with this sketch. The images are actually from the reverse side of the paper sheet that I used so I thought that they suited the card sketch wonderfully. I really liked the idea of making another card that had a similar starting point but I ended up with something that looked different but used up that paper that I was using at the time. For the strip I used this camera washi tape that I had which I thought went with the travel theme of this card.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. I really appreciate the likes, comments and views that my blog receives. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Birthday Van

Hello Everyone,
Another creation but this time around it is based on 3 different challenges. I have used a previous challenge but also found two others to play with as well. And this is the creation that I came up with when I mashed all of these together

van-birthday.jpg

And so the challenges I have mashed together are

and of course a sketch

The sketch to me looks like it was made for a card for a female but I looked in my stash and I didn’t have a lot of male themed cards. So I decided that I would make a male themed card and I am really pleased with how it turned out. I have again used a stamp set from a magazine that I bought a while ago and it had some papers with it so I decided to use both.

I stamped the van and signpost images on some heavy weight card stock and coloured it in with my Copic markers. Then I used my detail scissors and cut out both images leaving a small white border. Then it was onto the rest of the card. From black paper I cut the base layer using my guillotine and the strip element as well; which I stamped with a tyre track stamp and used some of my brown Distress Inks to give it the look of dirt. To make the circle element I used 2 circle dies taped at the same time and ran this through my Cuttlebug to give the frame element. I placed the van image under the frame and cut around it so it became a part of the frame. Then I built the card using the sketch and placing the signpost in place of the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. I really appreciate all of the likes, comments and visits to my blog. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Sweet Surprises

Hello Everyone,
The card that I am posting up today is actually the combination of 2 challenges. And these are the challenges that I have combined

Image result for pile of markers
Make Your Mark – Use markers on your project

and a sketch challenge

Sketch Saturday 551

What a fun sketch to play around with. I can see that I may use this in future project because so much could be done with it. And this is the card that I came up with using these 2 challenges

02-22-sweet-surprises.jpg

I came across these ice-cream images in my box where I keep images waiting for the right project for them to be included on. Sometimes I am not in the mood to make a complete project but I do want to do some craft so I colour in images and they will eventually find their place.

The stamps actually come from a magazine which included some papers as well and this helped me to pull everything together. Each of the images I popped up on foam tape just to give a little dimension to what is quite a simple card.  The sentiment stamp comes from the same collection and is mounted flat onto the card front.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. I really appreciate the visits, likes and comments on my projects. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought
