Digital Stamps, Handmade Cards, Thank You

Thanks, Ms. Rachel

Hello everyone, yes I am back with a card project (((insert happy dance))). I made this card for 2 reasons. 1. my daughter requested a Thank You card and 2. most of the challenge sites I usually play along with were hosting Halloween challenges and I don’t do this holiday. But I decided to share my card make anyway because I was so happy to be able to do some crafting again after all the stuff that’s been going on. If you want to know more about this please see my previous post.

My daughter asked me to make her a Thank You card for the Teacher that has been supervising her for her Teacher Prep. This is where student teachers (my daughter) go into a classroom and teach classes and are assessed on their performance by the teacher (Ms. Rachel) who usually teaches that class. My daughter has been in Ms. Rachel’s class for the past month and tomorrow is her last day with her. She has really enjoyed working with Ms. Rachel. And this is the card that I made for her to give to her.

10 31 Art Mug

The artist mug image is from Meljen’s Digital Designs; I love using this image for the artistic people in my world – it suits so many occasions. The paper comes from a pad by Kasiercraft called “The Class of ’82” and it is an old one that has been sitting in my stash for ages. Each of the layers is matted with maroon paper and I added some stars because I like them and they were hanging out in my stash 😀

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card creation even though it isn’t part of a challenge. Before you go from my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on.

My Absence

Living with chronic illness #chronicillnessquotesInspirational Quotes // Just think positive.

Hello Everyone,
As you can see this is not the usual happy crafty projects that I usually share here with everyone. But you may or may not have noticed a long stretch where I haven’t uploaded anything – well I am going through some tough medical stuff at the moment. The 2 posts before this one were actually scheduled last month to go off now when the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenges went live. I thought that everything that I had gone through before this was bad enough – but having limited use of my left arm has been the worst so far.

At the moment I have pain in my left arm all the time – it just differs in the severity of how bad it is or where in my arm the most pain is. Now I suffer from pain every day of my life but even this pain has taken me by surprise. So depending on the day or even the hour or the minute things can and do change. This rollercoaster is one of the harder aspects to get used too.

When most people see me they can’t see my pain because there is hardly any outward appearance that anything is amiss. I have become very adept at not showing outwardly what is going on inwardly – because many can not relate and I’m at a point where it is easier to hide and deal with things myself than trying to keep on explaining what is going on.

So I suppose that I am writing this post just to remind everyone …

Invisible illnesses like Fibromyalgia, M.E. & Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Lyme Disease can be just as disabling as more visible disabilities. #chronicfatiguesyndrome #chronicfatiguefacts

… you can never tell what anybody is going through by only judging what you can see.

Until the next time, I am able to be on here
Be kind to everyone you meet,
❤ Tracy

52CCT October Technique Challenge

Hello everyone, it is the 4th week in October and that means it is time for a Technique or Stash Challenge over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. And as you can tell by my post title we have a Technique, Branka has decided for us to try …

04 Technique

Now, this is a technique that I love doing but for some reason, I don’t do it that often. So this challenge gave me the push to get out my Distress Inks and have a play. This is my card for this technique.

52CCT 10 2019 wk4 Technique

I used Distress Inks in 2 colours of Fired Brick and Crushed Olive. I did several layers but dried each layer with my heat gun to try and keep the colours vibrant. Then I put some MEGA double-sided tape on the back of some maroon lightweight card stock and used my Christmas Word die set from Kasiercraft. Then I put these onto some green lightweight card stock and cut out an outline as I don’t have outline dies for this set. Each of the words has been popped up on foam tape then I added some red and green sequins to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping in to look at my Design Team creation for the Technique Challenge. I hope that you will come on over and play along with us. We have a lot of fun over at the challenge blog. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought to ponder on.

52CCT October Theme Challenge

Hello everyone, today it is the 3rd week in October which means it is theme time over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. And Branka has chosen this theme for all of us to play along with …

03 Theme

I must admit that I don’t have a lot of snowmen in my collection of stamps – not even digi! So I found this image in the Printmaster program that I have on my computer and I went with this one.

52CCT 10 2019 wk3 Theme

I thought that it was quite a cute image with the snowmen and lady singing. The sentiment I actually made up myself and used my computer to put it onto the image before printing.  For the placement of everything I used a sketch from Operation Write Home #122

Thanks for stopping by today and looking at my card project. I appreciate all of the likes and comments on my posts. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on.

Well Made Anniversary

Hello everyone, today I am here to share with you a card that I have made for a wonderful couple that I know. I tried to make a card that would suit both of them because they like different things.

10 13 Well Made Anniversary

Can you tell what they love to do? This card started with a sketch inspiration from Tuesday Morning Sketches #524. It stumped me for a while and the card doesn’t follow this sketch …

… 100% but I am happy with how it turned out. I definitely didn’t get as many strips of patterned paper in the background, my calculations went wrong but I still liked how many I got. And I couldn’t undo because I was sticking as I was cutting so that I didn’t get my strips out of order 🙂

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. I really appreciate you stopping by and all of the comments and likes that my posts have been receiving. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on.

52CCT October Colour Challenge

Hello Everyone, today I am here to share with you a Colour Challenge with the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge Design Team. It is week 2 of October and Branka is our hostess again. And these are the colours that she chose for all of us to have fun with.

02 Colour

This is definitely a different combination of colours to play with and I had some difficulty in trying to figure out how to use them. This is the card that I came up with.

52CCT 10 2019 wk2 Colour

While I was having problems with figuring out what to do I went looking through my images to see if one stood out for use with this combination. And then I found this adorable image “Meowy Christmas” by Jodi from Bugaboo images. And he is still available here. The one thing I like about this image is that you can colour this cat anyway you wish. So if you know who this is going to go to you can colour it like their cat to make it more personal. I chose to go with a Tortishell colouring because it helped with the challenge colours 😀

Thanks for stopping in at looking at my Design Team work for the 52CCT. I hope that you will come on over to our challenge blog and have a look and maybe even join in on one of our challenges. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until the next time we meet, do what makes you happy,
❤ Tracy

Joy and Laughter

Hello everyone, I had the opportunity to make some Christmas cards following along with some sketch challenges. Because you know how much I have them! And this is another card following along with another sketch from one of my favourite sketch sites.

10 10 Joy and laughter

This card followed along with a sketch from Mojo Monday #524 and this is it.

All of this came from pieces that were leftover from other Christmas card creations. I love sketches that help me to do this. I have used some Washi tape for the diagonal stripes and then edged them with some wavy gold stickers just to help them stand out.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. I am so appreciative of all the likes and comments that my posts have been receiving of late. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on.
