52CCT May 2021 Colour Challenge

05 2021 Wk2 Colour

Hello everyone. It is the 2nd week of May and this means 2 things for me. The first is that today as this goes live it is my Birthday 🙂 and the 2nd being that it is colour challenge time with the 52Christmas Card Throwdown. I have to admit that colour challenges are a challenge for me; I’m not sure why exactly but I decided to challenge myself.

Fabiola has allowed us to add as many colours as we would like to but Kraft must be the most important one in the mix. As you can see I only used 3 colours other than kraft if you include the gold shimmer layering cardstock.

These bauble stamps are a favourite and I found them while unpacking into my new craft space. To position these and because I knew that stamping onto kraft cardstock would be a challenge I used my stamping platform so that I could re-stamp to get a crisp image. The cord that is holding each bauble I drew free hand with a fine tipped black pen. The sentiment I stamped and it didn’t come out very well so I used my white marker pen to clean up the stamping. Adding some of the marker to places on each bauble and drawing in some white stars and dots added some definition. After this though I thought that it looked a little stark so I used a Warm Grey Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencil and did some shading to all the elements including the sentiment. To finish off the card I cut down the image panel so that it allowed me to add the gold layer and to put all of this onto a kraft layer before adhering all of this onto a white card base.

Thanks for stopping on by and looking at my colour challenge make for the 52CCT. I hope that you will stop on by the other designers blogs and see how they used Kraft in their makes. Also I would love for you to come and play along with us and show us your makes.

Until my next post
Be Kind to Yourself and others.
