Just for Fun

This morning I decided that I would craft a card just for fun.  I didn’t want to have the constraints of time or deadlines; I just wanted to be free to make something and enjoy the creative process along the way.  But my crafting MOJO just wasn’t playing along so I did what I have done in the past and looked for a sketch to start things off for me and I found this one

This is from September, 2015 but I just liked its simple layout.  I thought this would be something I could give a go after not card crafting for awhile. So I dug through my stash of paper packs and decided to use the Hippy Girl Collection from Kasiercraft.  I also dug out an image of a Butterfly from Meljen Designs which I had coloured in with my Copics last month and hadn’t found the right card for it.

Butterfly Dec2015

I am really happy with the end result especially after having such a long break.  I am hoping that I will be able to do more since my craft table was updated by my Hubby John.  It was such a delight crafting at my new and updated desk.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and look at my project. To let me know you stopped in please consider liking this post or/and leaving me a comment.

Garden Retreat Decoupage Card

Today’s card is a Decoupage card which the image was made with a kit from Docrafts Anita’s.  I purchased this and 2 other sets and each one allows you to make 2 images from each pack so they are really economical and I love that.

Decoupage Card Garden Retreat 1

I have liked these kinds of cards for years because they are always fun to make because you get to see the 3D image being brought to life as you are building it.  I was drawn to this one because of the image – I would love to have an outlook like this from my yet to be built patio …. maybe one day.  The card base I actually started a little while ago but I didn’t have the right image to include with it.  The one I had just didn’t seem to fit it once I put it together so I saw it sitting in my pile of stuff that I moved and I liked how the colours went with this image.

But I just want to say thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and looking at my creations.  And to let me know that you stopped on by today and what you thought of my creation, why not leave me a comment below.  I love to hear what people think of my creations – feedback is how I improve my craft.

A Foray into Weaving

On Saturday 27th July 2013 I purchased a
Ashford Knitters Loom
from a lovely lady, Lindy Boshler, from Margate, QLD.

Loom Set Up( Me sitting on the floor reading the manual on how to Warp Up)

The reason for me purchasing this loom is because I think I am getting arthritis in my fingers which has been hampering my knitting endeavors of late 😦  Actually most of my crafting has been affected which is why I haven’t been online of late.

One of the things I love about the Ashford Knitters Loom is that I can take this loom with me when I go to places. So I will be able to take this with me to my Friday Morning Crafters Group and I will also be able to take it with us when we go on holidays as well.  I am going to have to figure out what I can do in other situations.

But onto my first project.  I had bought some Autumn Variegated Wool Yarn and also some Green and Fawn Acrylic Yarn with me when I knew I would be buying the loom.  So once I got the loom set up & I read through the warping instructions I set up the loom on a small table & placed a dining chair the distance away from the loom as specified by the manual.

The next step was to start the warpinWarping the Loomg process.  This was a little tedious but it had to be done and once it was done I could get onto the fun part of working the AuWorking the Wefttumn Variegated Wool Yarn across the weft.

I had to learn how to work the loom and how to manipulate the tools as well.  But I had so much fun doing this and starting to learn this new craft.

I worked on this for most of Saturday night and then I worked on it on Sunday afternoon as well and I finished the project. 😀

A scarf which measures 162cms (64inches) which if I would be knitting the project would have taken at least a week if not more for me to complete has taken just over a day.  Of course this was over a weekend so once I am doing this during the week this will slow down I think. But I cant wait to get on with my next project.

Autumn Scarf July 2013My finished project.  I am quite happy with how it has turned out but of course there are things that I don’t like about it but these are technical things which I think will get better as I do more projects.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and looking at my creations.  Don’t forget that if I mention any products in my posts, and you are interested in buying these, I will always direct link to where you are able to purchase them if they are still available. And to let me know that you stopped on by today and what you thought of my creation, why not leave me a comment below.  I love to hear what people think of my creations – feedback is how I improve my craft.  And my final thought for you today is that you find yourself doing something you love.

Pretty in Purple

Hello Everyone,
Well I disappeared again didn’t I. I just needed to move my paper crafting area as where I was situated just didn’t give me the space that I needed or the ability to leave things half done if I need to do some Mummy things. 😐   So my paper crafting area is back out in the garage.  I have a lot more space out there and I can leave projects half way through on my desk, and it wont bug me seeing it left out.  There are only 2 drawbacks to the position – 1: I am not near my family which means I miss out on some interaction with them and 2: (the original reason for moving out) the heat in Summer is unbearable.  The first drawback I can’t do anything about unless we get a different house or remodel this one. But the 2nd we have found a product that is suppose to reduce the heat in here so I am in the process of saving for this before the heat sets in.  Which means not so much money for supplies for a while.

But anyway onto the card that I made today after I finished moving my stuff.
Primrose Garden CardI am pretty pleased with how this turned out.  The image is Lil’ Primrose Clear Stamp from Kasiercraft and this is the Garden Party Set.  I loved this set so much that I decided to make it into a Paper Pieced & Coloured card.  For this card I have also used almost all Kasiercraft papers.  Well actually the only one that isn’t is the purple I used for the frill on the apron and the scallop around the main image. The rest of the papers used are from the Pink Gelato 6 1/2″ Paper Pad.  The sentiment stamp is from AmyR’s Be Happy Sentiments Set which is available from All That Scraps.

Primrose GardenTo make this card I first selected the papers I wanted to use from the paper pack for the piecing the I stamped the part of Lil’ Primrose that I needed onto each piece.  Once that was done I stamped Lil Primrose & the flowers onto Copic Quality paper I stamped Lil’ Primrose a second time as I needed to colour her hair & second arm for attachment later . Then I coloured the background with my dry chalk set which I have had for so many years now but still love using it.  Then I coloured in the flowers & Lil’ Primroses’ Hair & Skin in with my Copics.  The most time consuming part as always with paper piecing was the cutting of the individual pieces.

The card is made with the sketch from Feeling Sketchy.  And in the middle of the flowers I have put Prismatic stickers that have been sitting in my stash for ages, I don’t use them as much as I should.  But I think they were the perfect accessory for these flowers.

Copic Colours I used:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04
Hair: E09, E15, E37
Flowers: V12, V15, V17, YG17, YG97

Time for Everything

Hello Everyone,
This time around I am sharing you a card with a bit of difference.
This is a card that I have made as an Any Occasion type.

Time for everything
I have had this image & bible verse stamp for ages sitting in my stash waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it.  Well that time finally came when I bought a paper pack from Kasiercraft called “13th Hour” and I knew that I had the perfect match.  But also what helped was the sketch from Feeling Sketchy. I actually flipped the design and used a square and a rectangle instead of the circle I hope this is still OK. While I was making this card it felt weird not doing any colouring for this card.  I am so use to putting some colour on my cards.  But the image that I had went so well with the papers from the pack.  The only thing I did was to sponge some black ink around the edge of the mottled white paper from the pack and the light brown paper that I stamped the bible verse onto just to bring them all together.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and looking at my creations.  To let me know that you stopped on by today why not leave me a comment below.  I love to hear what people think of my creations – feedback is how I improve my craft.  And finally my prayer for you is that you find yourself doing something you love.

Just for You

Hello Everyone,
Yes I know very unusual to have me post this often but I had the opportunity to do some crafting.

Today’s card I am really happy with.
I followed along with a Some Odd Girl Wednesday Colour Along Live Video of Woodys Mae which you can find here at Ustream.
I saw this particular video at the beginning of January this year and I loved it so much that I saved to buy the Copics that I didn’t have.  And yesterday I picked up my Happy Mail which included the missing Copics for this image.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kristy (the Copic Wonder Lady & Designer of Some Odd Girl Stamps) for doing these videos I have learned so much.

And without further ado….
Woodys MaeAs I said before I am so pleased with how this turned out.  The Digital image is Woodsy Mae from Some Odd Girl.  I coloured this whole image with my Copics which is very unusual for me.  For the cloud background I followed a tutorial on the Some Odd Girl Blog, it turned out better than I was expecting.

The papers are all from my stash.  I am trying to be very good and not buy anything paper wise new for awhile so that I whittle down my stash of supplies.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and looking at my creations.  To let me know that you stopped on by today why not leave me a comment below.  I love to hear what people think of my creations – feedback is how I improve my craft.  And finally my prayer for you is that you find yourself doing something you love.
