Celebrate You

Hello everyone.
Today I am sharing with you the card I made using the current challenge from Tic Tac Toe. These challenges are always really fun to create with as they combine 3 different elements.

For my choice I went down the left-hand side of the panel – Stencil, Splatters, and Foliage. The stencil and foliage part of the design came as one element thanks to the Leaves Stencil from Paper Rose Studio and 2 Distress Inks – Peeled Paint and Crushed Olive. I used Wilted Violet Distress Ink on the edge of a clear block with water and a brush for the splatters.

The brushed gold circles are from a Stitched Holly Die set from Paper Rose Studio. I don’t use the holly leaves much but these berry ones do get a workout. The celebrate word die comes with both the word and the layering die as well – the word is cut from black cardstock which I put adhesive on before cutting to make layering easier later. I used a pale purple cardstock for this but my camera didn’t pick it up well. The sentiment strip came from the Black & White Sentiment Sheets from Paper Rose Studio. These are wonderful to pair with the many sentiment dies. Once everything was placed onto the card front this was layered onto a panel of the same pale purple cardstock as the die.

I had a lot of fun finding out how to put these elements together and I hope that you like how it finally came together. I will be entering this card into 2 challenges. Tic Tac Toe no.180 and Paper Rose Studio Monthly Challenge for Creatives.

Until my next post,

Leaves Thank You

Hello Everyone.
While I was in my craft space I loved the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge so much that I decided to use it again but this time in conjunction with the challenge from Double Trouble Challenge.

This card is made with some supplies that have been in my stash for years and some brand new ones which were gifted to me. So I wanted to send a thank you to the wonderful person who gave them.

The paper pad, Copic markers and ink pads have been in my stash for quite awhile. But the stamps are new. The thank you sentiment is from Paper Rose Studios and the leaves are from a company called Pasttime Crafts. The colours that I used were actually chosen by the image that I chose from the stamp set.

The whole colour combo was decided by the recipe from Double Trouble Thing 1.

From:       The Kitchen at Double Trouble
Servings:  Unlimited Portions of Fun
Recipe:     3-2-1 Recipe

Ingredients:  3  Colors of your Choice, 2  Embellishments and 1  Stamped or Digital Image

The 3 colours are brown, green (in various shades) and orange. I have 2 types of embellishments – the straight dark green stickers and the orange circle holographic. I did use 1 stamp image but multiple times – I hope this meet the recipe.

I had so much fun joining these challenges together. I hope that you like my interpretation of these challenges. My wish for you is that you will find yourself doing something that you truly love.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

Christmas Comes

Hello Everyone.
As I write this post we only have only 112 days until Christmas Eve but it’s actually only 59 days until November 1st. This is the day that overseas cards and parcels need to be in the post to try and get them to their destination by Christmas. So I will be making many Christmas cards between now and then. As I send cards but I also donate cards as well so to that end I have made one using the sketch from Try Stampin On Tuesday.

I really like this sketch I can see myself reusing this sketch again in the future. I did add a Santa image as this was the last of the papers from this paper pad and this image was from these papers; I put him on just for some visual interest. I am glad to have another Christmas card done.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design. I hope that you like what I did with the sketch and my little add.

Until my next sketch,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

AHSC no.483

Hello everyone. This morning I am here to share with you my make using the sketch from Michelle over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

This time around I made my card very close to the sketch. Some things are a little bit smaller or bigger but everything is there except the bow – I used a star instead. I thought that the star suited the main paper better. The flower is a die from Paper Rose Studio called the Alana Flower. It is a favourite in my collection and I have used some purple lightweight cardstock and some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Seedless Preserves was put around the edge of each piece with a sponge dauber. I used some holographic paper for the centre as this matched with the star.

Making a card with such softer colours was such a change to the last patterned papers that I had been using. I will be donating these to a challenge that donates care baskets to new parents and I thought a handmade card would be a nice thing to include.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card creation using the latest sketch from AHSC. I hope that you will come along and create with us and share your makes over on the challenge page.

Birthday Cupcake

Hello everyone. I was able to get into my craft room and make some cards. It was nice being able to craft again after being unable to do so due to health restrictions and time. To help my creating go a little smoother I decided to see what sketches were available on a fav sketch site. Try Stampin’ on Tuesday didn’t disappoint.

I decided to go with just the sketch this time around.

I like how this card turned out but I am wondering about the black circle now … hmmm? I think that my mind was still in the warmer tones of my previous paper pad. I really like this sketch and I will be using it again for inspiration for future makes.

With this card, I was able to use some new to me products that have been sitting on my shelf from Paper Rose Studios. I was able to use the Cupcake Metal Cutting Die and a patterned paper from a cardmaking kit called Sally’s Quilt. The kit has been sitting for quite a while but I thought I would try making something with it because of the softer colours of the patterned paper. These kits are great value for money, and since using some of the kit I will continue with them once I finish another project that is coming due.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design using the TSOT sketch. I hope that you have a fabulous day no matter what you find yourself doing.

Until my next post,

Try Stampin no.560

Hello everyone. I was able to make some more cards and I loved the sketch over at Try Stampin (or not) On Tuesday that I followed the design.

I did follow this sketch almost fully. I did only add 3 circles as I like things in odd numbers as I think it is more pleasing and I also happen to have these 3 circles die cuts sitting on my desk. These are some of the last papers from the patterned paper pad I have been working through. This sketch was the perfect way to finish off some of the strips I had left after cutting card backgrounds. I think that I will keep this sketch in my box for use at both the beginning and end of a paper pad.

Because I was at the end of the patterned paper I used some chocolate brown shimmer lightweight cardstock for the background. I matted the background and flag with black lightweight cardstock and added Love From Lizi Pinstripe Stickers in black along the edge of the larger piece of patterned paper just to help give it some dimension.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card made using the sketch from TSOT. I hope that you will find yourself doing something creative.

Until my next post,

Birthday Double Challenge

Hello everyone. It was so lovely to get into my craft space, create some cards, and use up some papers that have been sitting on my desk for the longest time.

To make things go a little smoother I decided to look at what challenges were around that might work with the pieces that I had. Well, I found that Double Trouble and Try Stampin’ On Tuesday were teaming up this week. I usually enter both of these challenges when I am able so I was pleased to see this team-up.

I love using sketches so this was a great one to work with and then extra challenges with the Double Trouble I was able to comply with as well.

The paper that I had sitting on my desk was the nailed board, this was the only piece of this paper that I had left. So I decided that I needed to make a background paper so I used a leaf stencil and 2 Distress Inks – Fired Brick and Gathered Twigs – with stencil brushes.

The other products that I used were from Paper Rose Studios the happy birthday sentiment from the Black and White Sentiment Pack and the image which is called On The Road. I stamped this image on Kraft light-weight cardstock in Rich Cocca Memento Ink. I add a strip of gold light-weight cardstock, a black Pin-Stripe Sticker by Love From Lizi and Black Nuvo Drops to finish off the card.

Thanks for looking in at my card design using the 2 challenges from Double Trouble & Try Stampin’ On Tuesday. I hope that you have a wonderful day no matter what you find yourself doing.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

Where I Would Rather Be…

Hello everyone. I am here to share with you a card that I was able to make in amongst everything else going on in my world. This card was inspired by 2 challenges – a sketch challenge and an inspiration challenge.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

The inspiration challenge from Just Add Ink started this creation because this picture was definitely where I would rather be at the moment. In Brisbane today we are experiencing the beginning of a cold snap – tomorrow is supposed to be worse. So at the moment, I would like to find somewhere warmer but not as hot as summer. Don’t want much do I ?!? Anyway onto the card instead of the weather 🙂

I did change the sketch so that it was a portrait rectangle instead of a square but kept all the main elements the same. These papers are from an older Kasiercraft paper pad which has been in my stash for quite a while, I hope to finish it off soon or I may donate it as I haven’t used it up yet and may never. The sentiment I printed on my laser printer and then ran it through my Minc machine with some silver foil even though in the picture it looks black.

Just putting this out there – why is photographing metallics so painful?

But anyway thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design for the challenge combo. I hope that you have a fabulous day no matter what you are doing.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

Laughter Imagination Dreams

Hello Everyone. The project that I have to share with you today is a little bit different. I love making cards and I love using sketches but I have started getting into art journaling and mixed media. So when a challenge came up from Just Add Ink I checked if they accept off the page creations – and they do 🙂

This is a close up of my final piece. Because the influences for this piece also came from a card sketch that I had been creating as a design team member of the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

So which elements did I chose from the Just Ink Challenge – well you could say I chose all 3. But I would mainly say flower and paper. The flowers are made out of an old book which I stamped the flower image onto and then cut out with my small scissors. The leaves I drew freehand in pencil before cutting them out.

I roughly figured out where I was going to place the flowers and painted some black flower outlines with black acrylic paint and then I edged each with a white acrylic pen. I glued all of the elements down with Mod Podge and once this was dry I drew around each of the flowers and leaves with coloured acrylic paint pens.

Looking at this now I think that I would put a wash over the area where the quote is just to help it to stand out more. I don’t like my handwriting but I am getting braver in using it instead of just using my computer and printer to do quotes for projects.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my off the page project. If you have any tips on how I can improve my writing on these kinds of projects I would love to hear them.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.
Tracy B.

Made with Heart

Hello everyone. It was so nice to be able to be in my craft space and do some crafting just for me. Well, it’s for others but not for any other reason than creating.

This card was crafted using the inspiration from 2 challenges

Try Stamping On Tuesday #546

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #153 – Using Left Column – Bird Die Cut Button

Now that I am looking at the card the button stamps may be a little big but I do like them. They and the sentiment are from a Fiskars stamp set which has been in my stash for the longest time but rarely used. Instead of cutting these by hand, I found that the smallest circle die I own actually was the correct size so I used my Gemini Jnr machine to cut them out. I also used this to cut out the bird and foliage dies from Paper Rose Studio these are favourites of mine.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project for the Try Stamping On Tuesday Sketch and the Tic Tac Toe Challenge. I hope that you think I got the design right in combining these 2 challenges together; let me know your thoughts. Before you go from my blog I would like to leave you with this final thought for the post.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.
