52CCT July Colour

Hello Everyone,

I am back with my 2nd week of hostess duties for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. And since it is the 2nd week of the month we are up to a colour challenge. And this is the combination of colours that I have chosen for us to play with

The red and green are very traditional colours for Christmas but I decided to add in some brown for just a bit of difference.

And here is what I did with this combination

There is some of the brown in the papers but most of my brown in actually my layers except I have noticed in my photos that it is looking more maroon than brown. This card came together quite quickly because I used a familar placement of elements on my page but I was lucky to be able to use this bird and sentiment image from the elements pack as well.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my design team work for this week I hope that you will come and play along with myself and the rest of the team. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought

52CCT June Technique

Hello Everyone,

Why do we procratinate? It doesn’t do us any good and we have to do what we have been putting off eventually anyway – and usually in a rush.

That’s how it was with this weeks 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I knew that it was coming up but I just kept on putting off doing anything about it until today when at the same time I am trying to get ready to go away for the weekend with my spinning and weaving group.

But anywho onto this weeks challenge and for Fabiola’s last week as hostess she had the choice between a stash or a technique challenge and she went with

This technique can be intereperted in many ways. Oh this was part of my problem with making this card – what type of pop up should I do? But this is the card that I came up with.

I decided that I would pop up my layers. This card was decided by the die-cut set that made this card possible. I can see it being used for different occasions and not just Christmas.

Thank your for stopping by and looking at my Design Team work for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I hope that you will come and play along with our challenge. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

52CCT June Colour Challenge

Hello Everyone,
I would like to introduce you to my Design Team work for
52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge.
And it is the 2nd week of June and it is time for a Colour challenge.

And Fabiola has chosen these colours for us to play along with

I must admit that this combination I do not usually use these colours so I had to think how I was going to combine them but this is the card that I came up with.

You may notice that I didn’t use a traditional sentiment for this card and this is nothing unusual for me. I just couldn’t go past this sentiment to be used with this image. I embossed my background with white embossing powder and then used 3 Distress Inks to make the sky. To colour in my image I used a mixture of pens to get the colours that I wanted.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my Design Team work for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I hope that you will come on over and play along with our colour challenge this month.

52CCT June Sketch

Hello Everyone,
Here in Australia we are starting our Winter Time of the year and it feels funny to be making Christmas Cards 😊
But it is the first week of June which means over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown we are going to be playing with a sketch and this is the one that Fabiola our hostess for the month has chosen for us to play with

You can see that I have added the measurements that I have used to make this card

The image that I have used is Angel Marci from La La Land and I have used my Prismacolour Pencils to colour her in. I still feel like a beginner using these as I have been quite afraid to use them but I am venturing into using them more as I can transport them when I am going to be out.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team make for 52CCT. I hope that we will see you over there and that you will play along with our latest challenge. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

52CCT May Technique

Hello Everyone,
Today I am here to share with you my Design Team Work for Week 4 of May Challenges over on the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge and this time it is a

And if you are wondering what this technique is you can find information here.

I had a lot of fun once I understood the technique and this is the card that I created.

I chose to use a patterned piece of paper for my eraser technique and I am really happy with the results. I know that I will be using this technique again and I may try the technique with other pencils and see what I can come up with or maybe even chalk 😊

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Design Team Work for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I hope that you will give this technique a try and come and play along with us. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

52CCT April Colour Challenge

Hello Everyone,

And today being week 2 of April we have a Colour Challenge brought to us by EK and for her colour choices for us to play along with we have

When this was first announced I must say that it took me a while to decide on the metallic to use and the colour to go along with it. But finally the choice was made for me by the design of the card that I made

This combination of embossing folder, rectangle die and scene die made my choices for me. Because it is such a regal scene I went with a regal combination of colours. Or at least to me they are. But I did notice that once I was putting the whole card together that I didn’t quite centre up the scene in the cut window.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Design Team creation. I hope that we will see you over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge Blog and come play along with us. Before you go though I would like to leave you with this thought

52 CCT April Sketch

Hello Everyone,

I am here to share with you this months sketch bought to us by hostess Netta and this is the sketch that she has given us to play around with.

52CCT 2019 04 April

Even though it is drawn as one colour I decided to do a ray design with the bottom of the design. So by going down this road I actually made 2 cards at the same time and here they are

52CCT 04 2019 wk1 Sketch 3.JPG

and a close up of both

I didn’t follow the sketch exactly as you can see I didn’t use a circle for my image. But I have been trying to use up some images that I found waiting to be put onto cards. But you can see how I was able to make 2 cards at the same time because I used alternate papers across the ray design.

Thanks for looking at my Design Team Project. I hope that you will come on over and play along with us at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge.

Until Next Time,
Tracy B
