Elf Wishes

Hello Everyone,
I am here today to share a simple card that I made following a sketch. It is another one for my Christmas collection.

03-21-elf-wishes.jpg

I found these cute images in a lift out from a magazine that I bought just this past Christmas and I hadn’t done anything with it. I am trying to work through my stash of papers so that I can feel like I can get some new supplies this coming Christmas. To make this card I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday

Sketch Saturday 555.jpg

So I had a lot of fun playing with this sketch. The background snowflake paper came from another magazine download but I thought it went well with the elf and gingerbread cookie. I decided to leave things quite simple this time because the sketch included banners and such. I hope you like my interpretation of the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

52CCT March Theme

Hello Everyone,

Today is week 3 of the month and this is Theme Challenge week over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge. Goga has given this theme to play along with

I search through my entire Christmas stash and I don’t have any Gingerbread in there. So I went looking online for a free image as I couldn’t afford to buy a new digi image at the moment even though they are a great price. But I found an image I was able to work with and this is what I made

To give a little more life to my image I found this piping bag and chef hat that fit my image perfectly. I used a cover up die that I have had for a while to make the background because I couldn’t really find papers that I was 100% happy. I used several brown Distress Inks on the frame because I thought that it looked a little like baked goods.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project. Hope to see you around the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge some time. And before you go please consider leaving a like or a comment. Also let me leave you with this thought before you go

February Stash Challenge

Hello Everyone,

It is week 4 of the month which means our host had a choice between a technique or a stash challenge. And Alison chose to go along with a stash challenge and that challenge is

A technique

I must admit that when I saw it as a technique I didn’t know what to do so I went with it as a stash challenge. To look into our stashes and have a find those pieces that we just had to keep for a project sometime in the future. Well this is the challenge for you to use that stuff!

And this is the card that I came up with

52CCT 02 2019 wk4 Stash

So how did I complete the challenge – well I had these trees that I had cut at a friends place and these were made out of embossed paper doilies which were left over from a party. And the sentiment came from an older paper pack but good for any Christmas card.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Design Team project. I hope to see your entry into our challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. Before you go though I would like to leave you with this thought

I just had to go with this today. It gave me a laugh again when I read it and it always does. Sometimes you just need something to make your day a little brighter.

February Colour Challenge

Hello Everyone,

The Christmas card that I am sharing today is a little on the simpler side but I am actually liking it a lot. I don’t usually go for this simple but being challenged can push you in different directions. So since this is week 2 of the month it is time for a colour challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Our host Alison has given us this combo to play with

A Colour

and with this as my inspiration this is the card that I made

52CCT wk2 Feb Colour

My Cuttlebug got a bit of a work out making this card first for the cutting of the stars and 2nd for using an embossing folder that I got from a card making magazine last year. To give this simple design a little more interest I added some small holographic silver stickers.

I hope that you will consider coming over to the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge and play along with our latest challenge. Thanks for stopping in to look at my Design Team project. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

rainbow new beginning

I chose this quote because of the floods that have been happening in the northern part of the state I live in. The new beginning hasn’t even been able to start yet because there is still so much uncertainty with the weather. I pray that the clean up can start soon and people will know the way forward from here.

Until Next Time,

Cats Return

Hello Everyone,
Yes those crazy happy Christmas cats are back! I love creating with these guys they always put a smile on my face. And this is the card they are staring on this time.

01 06 cat christmas cracker

Don’t they just look like they are having such fun. This card all started with a sketch from Sketch Saturday

I have coloured these cats in with my Copic markers. The papers I have used come from Kasiercraft’s Mistletoe 6X6 paper pack. I layered everything with Forest Green Paper and the tags are made from Washi Tape first adhered to some white paper. So another Christmas card is finished and added to my pile.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. Please consider giving a like or even a comment I like receiving feedback on my projects. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought

a book is a dream in your hand

One of my other loves – being able to spend time reading. It such a wonderful thing being able to immerse yourself inside another world for awhile.

January 2019 Sketch for 52CCT

Hello Everyone,
Welcome to 2019 and the start of the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenges for the year. During January the host of the challenges will be Andreja. Since its the first week of the month it is time for a sketch challenge and this is the sketch that we have had a chance to play with.

52CCT Jan2019

As I have been doing I have provided the metric measurements for those who may find them useful. As you can see it is a square card design and I don’t usually do squares because of the waste by-product of making the card base. But this is what I came up with

Jan2019 sketch w watermark

This card is on the simpler side because it is not full of layers and such. But I like how it turned out – I think it helped that I used products from the same company. These are from Kasiercraft and they are from the First Noel 6X6 paper pack.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Design Team project. I hope that you will come over and play along with the current challenge. Maybe some of the other fabulous challenges that we have in store for you coming up. You can find the information about 52 Christmas Card Throwdown here. Before you go I would love to leave you with this final thought

I hope and pray that 2019 will be filled with laughter, fun and lots of craft! When times of sorrow or unhappy times come passing by remember that you will get through the other side. I would encourage you to dig into those relationships that fill you … so that during the happy times you are overflowing with joy and then during the harder times you have something to draw on – memories of better times to get you through.

Have a Happy Crafty Kind of Day,

Merry Christmas to All

1 Christmas.jpg

Hello Everyone,
I have popped in to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and wonderful time with family and friends. As you gather around the Christmas tree to open presents with family and friends, I would like you to consider the greatest gift that was never put under a tree. God gave the ultimate gift His Son for us – He started out as a babe and grew into a Man – God knew that the birth of Jesus would eventually lead to the Cross at Eastertime. He knew the impact that Jesus would have on this earth even though he was only here for a very short while.

This is something to consider – Jesus was only on this earth just over 30 years but he made such an impact.  Your life can have an impact on this earth and the people that you encounter each day of your life. What do you want to leave behind?

Thanks for reading this post. And as always before you go I want to leave you with this final thought

As we go forward to the end of this year and into the next consider how you life can make a difference – whether big or small. Just a smile given to a stranger can make their otherwise bleak day a cheerier one.

Blessing of the Season to you all,
❤ Tracy B
