AHSC 309

Hello Everyone,
I am here with a Design Team assignment that I would love to share with you. This time around its with the team over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and this is the sketch that we got to play with this time

AHSC 309 March 25th DT

I can see myself making quite a bit of use of this sketch. I am not one to do just a sentiment as an element but I went with it this time around. And this is the card that I came up with

03 25 AHSC 309.JPG

I decided to dive into my older stash elements and see what I could use and I found this travel set that I have had in my stash for quite awhile and I have used elements of it on and off but mainly the more neutral papers and such. But I saw this sentiment in the included stamp set and thought that it could suit anyone going on a long trip or even retirement. Then I found 2 Washi Tapes because when I put on the check designed one it looked like it needed something else.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Design Team assignment. I hope that we will see you around Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and give this sketch a try. I really appreciate all the likes and comments on my posts. And before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

I need one of these

52CCT March Technique

Hello Everyone,
I am here today with our 4th Challenge for March which is a technique challenge. Goga has asked us to do the following

04 technique.png

I was pretty sure that I had some folders that would suit this challenge as this is craft item is one of my favourite items to buy. And this is the card that I came up with

52CCT 03 2019 wk4 Stash.JPG

I was first going to go with an embossing folder that had words on it but once I put my Old World Santa image from Bugaboo Digi Images it just didn’t look right. So then I searched through my collection of embossing folders and I found this one by Craft Concepts called Secret Garden which I thought looked like Christmas Berries so I went with it. I decided to keep the card pretty simple this time around because I wanted to keep the focus on the embossing.

52CCT March Theme

Hello Everyone,

Today is week 3 of the month and this is Theme Challenge week over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge. Goga has given this theme to play along with

I search through my entire Christmas stash and I don’t have any Gingerbread in there. So I went looking online for a free image as I couldn’t afford to buy a new digi image at the moment even though they are a great price. But I found an image I was able to work with and this is what I made

To give a little more life to my image I found this piping bag and chef hat that fit my image perfectly. I used a cover up die that I have had for a while to make the background because I couldn’t really find papers that I was 100% happy. I used several brown Distress Inks on the frame because I thought that it looked a little like baked goods.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project. Hope to see you around the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge some time. And before you go please consider leaving a like or a comment. Also let me leave you with this thought before you go

Until Next Time,

AHSC 307

Hello Everyone,
Another wonderful sketch from Michelle over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge for us all to play along with.

AHSC 307 March 11th DT

I decided to go down the clean and simple route or at least for me it is! And this is what I came up with

AHSC 307

To create this card I cut the image panel first but instead of cutting individual rectangle like indicated on the sketch I decided to go down another route. I taped the main panel to a board that I keep to do sponging work on and then I created the “window” pattern with more tape. I chose a stencil from my collection and then I used my Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks with sponge daubers. I used the Salty Ocean around the edge of the main panel and Mowed Lawn around the sentiment circle.

When putting the card together I cut some foam and put this under the scalloped circle just to give a little height. To give the sentiment a little more depth I cut it out a 2nd time so that I could stamp it in another colour and use the distress ink for a little bit of difference.

52CCT March Colour Challenge

Hello Everyone,

Well it is week 2 of the month so this means we are having a Colour Challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Challenge. And our host Goga has chosen these colours to play with

This was interesting to play with because I usually play with a lot more colours but this is the card that I came up with for the challenge

I must say that it is hard to photograph metallic colours. I have been wanting to try this design out for a while ever since I got this intricate star die last Christmas and this challenge gave me the perfect opportunity. Mind you this die gave my Cuttlebug a few problems – I am thinking that it is dying!! 😯

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project. Please consider coming on over to our blog and joining in on the fun over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Before you do that I would like to leave you with this thought

52CCT March Sketch Challenge

Hello Everyone,

Have you ever thought that you have completed something but realized almost too late that you hadn’t? That is how is was with my Design Team entry for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown March Sketch Challenge. I was convinced that I had completed my project and uploaded it and wrote the blog.  Well I got home and checked and I hadn’t so the card you are about to see was done in record time … but I did make it before the challenge went live so …. YEAH!

But anyway here is the sketch that we got to use with our host this month Goga.

This time I decided to stick pretty much with the sketch and this is the card that I came up with

The papers I used on this card and the collectables came from Kasiercraft and the pad was called Mistletoe. I bought this pad quite a while ago but I needed something that had everything already ready because I was short on time as I explained in the beginning and this suited what I needed perfectly.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project. Please consider coming on over to the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge and entering in this weeks challenge. Before you go I would like to leave you with this final thought

AHSC Sketch 305

Hello Everyone,
Today I am bringing you a card as part of the Design Team for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (AHSC). And this is the sketch that we got to play with this time around.

AHSC 305 Feb 25th DT

This is such a fun sketch to play with. When I originally saw this sketch I was going to use a doily for the scalloped element but I search my stash and I didn’t have one :O I thought that my stash had everything 😉 But anyway this is the card that I made with this sketch

ahsc-305.jpg

This image is from a card making magazine and I stamped the bird, eggs, and flower image once and then I stamped the flower part of the image twice more. By doing this I was able to layer up the flowers to give a fuller look. I coloured in everything with my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils, I have a love hate relationship with this colouring medium but I think that I just need to spend more time working with them.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project. I hope that you will come on over to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog and join with us in using this sketch. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Don’t wait

Until Next Time,
Tracy B
