Purple Black White Greetings

Hi Everyone. I have a 2nd card that I have made for the current Color Throwdown challenge. I decided to try an old technique of colour smooshing. I still love this technique because each piece comes out so differently. When I started this card using my Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Seedless Preserves, Wilted Violet and Shaded Lilac) I had hoped that it would be a 1 layer card but I wasn’t overly happy with the larger piece of smooshing so I decided that instead of throwing the whole thing in the bin I would try and salvage a part that I did like.

And this is the card that came out of it:
Purple Black WhiteAs you can see I didn’t end up with the 1 layer I first started making but I am happy with the end result.

Using my Hinged Stamper as I never trust myself to get a perfect image 1st time I stamped the Tulip Image from a Darkroom Door Stamp Set using My Favorite Things Hybrid Black Ink. I cut down my smooshed and stamped piece and then using my Perfect Layers tool I made a 3 step graduated mat for my focal piece. Since I ended up with a piece a lot smaller than I was intending I went rummaging in my sticker stash for something I could use around the border of the card base and I found these border stickers of black and gold and I thought they made a nice touch. The sentiment is also a sticker set from my stash as well. And that completed the card.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. So that I know that you stopped on by my blog today could I ask you to consider doing a couple of things. The first is hitting the like button and the 2nd is if you have a question or a comment about my creation please don’t hesitate to write something in the rely box.

And finally I leave you with this thought for today:
