Caught a Bug?

Hello Everyone,
I have been going through the digital images that I have already printed out and trying to match them to projects or sketches so that I can use them and not waste them. So I found an image that looked like fun to work with and the sketch from Feeling Sketchy. This is the card that came about with this combination

Isn’t this a cute image. I just love the look on the lady bugs face. This image is BJ Ladybug Jar from Bugaboo Stamps it doesn’t seem to be available anymore but there are plenty of other fun images over at their store (here). I coloured in this image with my Copic Markers and used my Polychromos pencils to put a shadow around the bottom of the jar to ground it so it wasn’t just sitting on nothing.

And this is the sketch that started this card

Feeling Sketchy #210

Because of the size that I had printed this image I had to change the dimension of the flag element on the card. But I think that I still kept with the sketch. The backing paper is from an old paper pack from My Minds Eye that I am near the end of. I matted everything with some orange paper. Then I found some pink felt flowers which I stuck on with UHU clear glue and included some leaves cut from green paper. And that completed my project for today.

I have learnt this unfortunately over the past year. I broke my toes in January 2018 and here we are over a year later and things still aren’t back to where they were.  A lot of other stuff is cropping up because of this … it’s a definite learning curve.

Until Next Time,

Purple Black White Greetings

Hi Everyone. I have a 2nd card that I have made for the current Color Throwdown challenge. I decided to try an old technique of colour smooshing. I still love this technique because each piece comes out so differently. When I started this card using my Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Seedless Preserves, Wilted Violet and Shaded Lilac) I had hoped that it would be a 1 layer card but I wasn’t overly happy with the larger piece of smooshing so I decided that instead of throwing the whole thing in the bin I would try and salvage a part that I did like.

And this is the card that came out of it:
Purple Black WhiteAs you can see I didn’t end up with the 1 layer I first started making but I am happy with the end result.

Using my Hinged Stamper as I never trust myself to get a perfect image 1st time I stamped the Tulip Image from a Darkroom Door Stamp Set using My Favorite Things Hybrid Black Ink. I cut down my smooshed and stamped piece and then using my Perfect Layers tool I made a 3 step graduated mat for my focal piece. Since I ended up with a piece a lot smaller than I was intending I went rummaging in my sticker stash for something I could use around the border of the card base and I found these border stickers of black and gold and I thought they made a nice touch. The sentiment is also a sticker set from my stash as well. And that completed the card.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. And now I would like to leave you with a thought before you leave:
