I told you that I would be back for a 2nd post. I am sitting at my dining room table trying to get this done before my foot hates being inside the “Moon Boot” too much. So this post is going to be short and sweet.
This is one of the digital stamps from the Wreath: Boxwood and Cranberry set. I liked this set because it is different from a lot of other Christmas stamp sets. I again used my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils to colour in the image and brushed over the image with my Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I didn’t really like the starkness of the white and this I think finished it off nicely.
this time I chose to use the January 2018 Square Map
I hope that you like my interpretation of the sketch. As I said in my previous post now that I have been introduced to PageMaps I will definitely be back to look at the coming designs.
Once again thanks for stopping by my blog today. Before you go of course I need to leave you with this thought:
Enough said! Except You are never too old for Garfield and He often makes a lot of sense …. Just saying.
Yes I am using my laptop after sitting at my card making desk! (((YEAH))) Wondering why I am celebrating check out my “Why am I missing?” post.
It felt so good to be at my desk that I actually made 2 cards for the same challenge but using 2 different sketches. And along with the card crafting I actually felt like doing some colouring as well. But my foot is feeling a little sore now from being down for so long – well actually it hates being in the boot!!
Any-who onto the card!
This image Heart Melt is from Power Poppy and its part of the Va-Va Valentine Collection. Isn’t it great! I loved it as soon as I saw it I had to colour it up for the Power Poppy & Page Maps Collaboration Challenge
So as you can see I used this Horizontal card map
Now that I have been introduced to this company I will be stopping by often to see the new “Maps” that they come up with. This is one of my favourite places to start when making a card project.
The image was coloured with my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils, I love using this colouring medium.
(I hope to be able to take up colouring classes with Alyce from Kit and Clowder again one day so that I can improve even more. I can highly recommend any of the classes presented by Alyce. She is the BEST teacher on the internet by far!! What you pay is worth so much more than she charges.)
Since I made this card for my Hubby for Valentines Day I decided to use more masculine papers too make the actual card. So good to use up some stash papers.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. Before you leave as always I would like to leave you with this thought
In the last 6 months I have experienced all of this and it is through the love of my God plus my family and friends that I am able to keep moving forward. Even if at the moment it is at a slow pace.
Welcome to 2018. We are already 4 days in and I am already wishing that we were in February 😦 I can deal with high temperatures but not the humidity. Feeling like a limp rag doesn’t exactly prompt you to do much.
But I am lucky to have air-con in my house so I have been able to continue to craft – which I am truly grateful because I really cant deal with not being able to do any of my stress relieving activities.
Anywho – onto the card
Aren’t these penguins just the cutest? Once I saw this image that I had used my watercolour pencils on ages ago I knew I had to use it on a card. And crafting with these cool colours helped with being so hot. I am having so much fun making some Clean and Simple cards. This cards inspiration came from 3 challenges.
I am back again with another creation. This time I am using a previously used sketch from Freshly Made Sketch #318.
This sketch is really simple and that suits the recipient of this card down to the ground. This card is actually going to my Husband’s Uncle. I am the only adult in the family that is still allowed to address him as “Uncle”. Everyone else over the age of 18 gets to address him by his given name but I have always addressed him as Uncle and I always will.
This card also follows the Catch the Bug Challenge December Bingo
as you can tell from the photo I used the top line for my BINGO. I really like these challenges it makes you think about how to put your card together – with some guidelines.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. As always before you leave my blog I would love to leave you with this thought:
Good to remember this in the hard times. Sometimes you have to face into the wind and keep going.
Tell me what do you get when you make lots of cards that are shorter than your pretty papers? Any ideas (think)
A: Lots of paper strips. I was at a loss as to what to do with all of these until I looked at the CAS(e) this Sketch challenge and found this challenge going at the moment.
So I was able to use up a lot of my strips and since I had all the supplies out I ended up making 2 cards at the same time. This is a photo of one of the creations:
It’s a simple card but I really like it. I think I am going to have to keep this sketch in mind for using up other scraps I have in my stash. Yeah I know I should probably just throw away any scraps – but I don’t like wasting any of my beautiful papers.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation today. And as always before you leave I would like to leave you with this thought:
This is definitely my prayer for the coming year. May the New Year be so much more loving than 2017. Best Wishes to you all.
As you can see by my being back again with another card I decided what I was going to do after my last post. Well actually Lunch happened between these 2 posts. I was having much fun card creating today that I didn’t feel like stopping. I always say “Make while the body allows!” – I have a bad back which prevents me from sitting in the same chair for long periods of time (no matter the type of chair).
I am still working towards the Christmas Cards I need for 2018. I have a stack already which is nice to be in front for once. I won’t have to binge make Christmas cards come November next year ((((Happy Dance))))
So anywho – here is the latest of my creations:
As you can see I made 2 cards using the same sketch – doing this every now and again also helps with building my pile 😀
Both of these cards use papers and toppers from Kaisercraft Christmas Carol 6X6 paper pad. I still have so much Christmas paper left I definitely don’t need to buy any more for awhile. I am sure that it multiplies while you aren’t around using it.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. Before you go I would like to leave you with this parting thought from my favourite hound Snoopy:
This is such a good thing to do. Learn from yesterdays lessons, Live in the present and Look forward to what tomorrow will bring.
May you all have a Happy Crafty Fun Filled kind of Day,
Hello Everyone, I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was very low key this year but it was spent with family and friends. First friends at our Church service and then family in Toowoomba, Queensland.
Have you organised your New Years Eve plans yet? I plan on going to our church’s Hope service. It’s a prayer service where we bring in the New Year together praying over our family, friends and Hopes for the coming year.
Today I felt like sitting at my card crafting table and making some cards. This is one of my efforts:
I loved looking through my stamp pile to try and find a Christmas Image that would suit a non-Christmas Card. I found this stamp set
This set if from the wonderful magazine Creative Stamping and this was issue #50. Aren’t the images adorable!! I loved how they included the Chill Out sentiment and other so that this set could be used for all types of different occasions. I am really happy with how this card turned out.
Well I’m off to make more craft!! Either cards or I do have that weaving project I have waiting for me or I might just chill out with my kids. But before you leave please consider leaving a comment or hitting the like button.
And as always I want to leave you with this parting thought:
Have a Happy Crafty Fun Kind of Day
I won over at the Time Out Challenge for this card. What a lovely Surprise!
