Today I had to get out to my craft area early so I could get a project done before it became too unbearable to be in there. I decided to bite the bullet and try my hand at the Hard part of the January Challenge at Make it Colourful. I also decided to join in on the Australia Day Challenge on the Make it Crafty Facebook Group so I combined the two.
The inspiration for this image came from our recent Christmas Holidays. We did a lot of driving and we traveled some dirt roads and saw some spectacular scenery. This composition is made up of Digital Australian Outback images from Make it Crafty – of course. In this image I used 5 of the images available in the Australian Outback Elements Pack at Make it Crafty. From this set I used both of the Horizon images, the side road, 2 of the shrubs and 1 of the rock images.
I used a mixture of colouring elements to finish off this image. The majority of the image is coloured in with my Pastel Chalks and then I have used some Faber Castel Pencils to add some definition. I am really happy with the results – this is the first time I have tried doing a sunset.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and looking at my latest creation. And to let me know that you stopped on by today and what you thought of my creation, why not leave me a comment below. I love to hear what people think of my creations – feedback is how I improve my craft.

Make it Colourful – Challenge #5 – (easy) Yellow and Blue – (hard) Sunrays & Water
Yes I am back again. But this time the card I am sharing with you is a card that I made a little while ago but wasn’t sure if I would share it. I made this card for my Hubby’s Uncle. In our family he is known as the Clock Master – if it’s broke he can usually fix it. So when I saw this image in the Make it Crafty Shop I knew I had to make a card with it for him.
This card is made with 2 images from Make it Crafty – Clockworks House Digi and Whimsical Flower Digi with this stamp I actually cut it in half and copied the half and flipped it to make the scene behind the House. I am really happy with how it all turned out. I coloured the image in with my Copics but I also used coloured pencil and coloured chalks to get the depth that I was after. All of the papers that I used for this card come from the Kasiercraft Paper Pack – Technologic.
But I just want to say thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and looking at my creations. And to let me know that you stopped on by today and what you thought of my creation, why not leave me a comment below. I love to hear what people think of my creations – feedback is how I improve my craft.

Make it Colourful Challenge #5 – Easy – Yellow and Blue
Sorry I haven’t been around blog land lately.
Life has been hectic to say the least.
I have started working and I am taking a little while to adjust to being back even though it is only permanent part-time. I have taken on the job of a School Crossing Supervisor ( Lollypop Person). I am doing this every afternoon but I also get fill in shifts for the mornings as well … which can put everything into chaos around here.
Which means the last thing on my mind is doing craft. Well that’s not 100% accurate – I have been working on my latest small weaving project but even that has slowed down of late.
I have been doing some cards – and I also follow along on challenges but then I don’t get the chance to upload them in time :$ So I am doing them I am just short on blogging time. Hopefully things will get into a routine soon.
ANYWHO I have made a card for the latest Some Odd Girl Blog challenge.
They have asked that you make a card with some Ombre style. Now I must admit when I read this I didn’t know what Ombre was. But once I looked up the meaning …. I thought I’ve been doing this style for ages. It is actually one of my favs.
I had a card that I needed to make for an upcoming birthday and I wanted to make a card with Happy Gwen. I made the Polaroid surround for the picture in my card printing program – PrintMaster 2012 including the Ombre background & balloons. The papers are all from the Kasiercraft range called “Hippy Chick”. I absolutely love their papers & products. This was all mounted on a cream cardstock base.
I decorated the inside of the card using the same papers as I used on the front of the card. All of the sentiments came from Amy R the “Celebrate” sentiment on the front is from the It’s Your Birthday Sentiment set and the greeting on the inside came from the Birthday Sentiments set. I love using these stamps as I always get a clear image when I use them and there are so many stamps per set which makes them really great value – even with international postage. More of these are on my Wish List 😀 If you would like to purchase these I have included the direct links to the sets.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and looking at my creations. And to let me know that you stopped on by today and what you thought of my creation, why not leave me a comment below. I love to hear what people think of my creations – feedback is how I improve my craft. And my final thought for you today is: That I hope you find yourself doing something you love.

Some Odd Girl Challenge blog – Ombre
Hello Everyone,Well it’s been awhile since I have done any blogging but I have been crafting.
I have been doing some projects on my new loom – see previous post.
And I have also been doing some card making and been trying to also finish off some of my UFP (UnFinished Projects)
But here is the latest card that I have made. Well actually this is post is a 2 for 1. I also made a Bookmark/Tag that goes with the card.
As you can see I used the Digital Image 1920’s Gwen from Some Odd Girl on both the card & the Bookmark/Tag. I coloured her in with my Copic Markers and also used some decorative chalks as well. I am really pleased with how both of these projects have turned out. And as always I also did up the inside of the card & the back of the Bookmark/Tag.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and looking at my creations. Don’t forget that if I mention any products in my posts, and you are interested in buying these, I will always direct link to where you are able to purchase them if they are still available. And to let me know that you stopped on by today and what you thought of my creation, why not leave me a comment below. I love to hear what people think of my creations – feedback is how I improve my craft. And my final thought for you today is that you find yourself doing something you love.

Well I disappeared again didn’t I. I just needed to move my paper crafting area as where I was situated just didn’t give me the space that I needed or the ability to leave things half done if I need to do some Mummy things. 😐 So my paper crafting area is back out in the garage. I have a lot more space out there and I can leave projects half way through on my desk, and it wont bug me seeing it left out. There are only 2 drawbacks to the position – 1: I am not near my family which means I miss out on some interaction with them and 2: (the original reason for moving out) the heat in Summer is unbearable. The first drawback I can’t do anything about unless we get a different house or remodel this one. But the 2nd we have found a product that is suppose to reduce the heat in here so I am in the process of saving for this before the heat sets in. Which means not so much money for supplies for a while.
But anyway onto the card that I made today after I finished moving my stuff.
I am pretty pleased with how this turned out. The image is Lil’ Primrose Clear Stamp from Kasiercraft and this is the Garden Party Set. I loved this set so much that I decided to make it into a Paper Pieced & Coloured card. For this card I have also used almost all Kasiercraft papers. Well actually the only one that isn’t is the purple I used for the frill on the apron and the scallop around the main image. The rest of the papers used are from the Pink Gelato 6 1/2″ Paper Pad. The sentiment stamp is from AmyR’s Be Happy Sentiments Set which is available from All That Scraps.
To make this card I first selected the papers I wanted to use from the paper pack for the piecing the I stamped the part of Lil’ Primrose that I needed onto each piece. Once that was done I stamped Lil Primrose & the flowers onto Copic Quality paper I stamped Lil’ Primrose a second time as I needed to colour her hair & second arm for attachment later . Then I coloured the background with my dry chalk set which I have had for so many years now but still love using it. Then I coloured in the flowers & Lil’ Primroses’ Hair & Skin in with my Copics. The most time consuming part as always with paper piecing was the cutting of the individual pieces.
The card is made with the sketch from Feeling Sketchy. And in the middle of the flowers I have put Prismatic stickers that have been sitting in my stash for ages, I don’t use them as much as I should. But I think they were the perfect accessory for these flowers.
Copic Colours I used:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E04
Hair: E09, E15, E37
Flowers: V12, V15, V17, YG17, YG97
