AHSC no.381

Hello everyone, I am here to give you some inspiration for the sketch challenge that is happening over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge at the moment. And Michelle has given us this sketch to play with

AHSC 381 Aug 10th 2020

I used some new products to me to create my card and this is what I came up with using this sketch.

AHSC 381

My interpretation is a little different to the sketch but not so much that you can not see the sketch in it. I love how this turned out – the sketch came first but then I got this die in the mail from one of my orders and that started off my card making. The die is called “Ella’s Rose Garden and Brick Wall” and it is from an Australian company called Paper Rose. I am slowly collecting their wonderful products and having such fun creating with them.

I first used several distress inks to ink up a piece of white card stock before putting it through my Gemini Jnr machine. Before I did this though I put some double sided tape on the back of the piece because I didn’t fancy trying to put glue on the little areas after it was cut. While I was using my machine I also put 2 pieces of brown layering weight card stock through with a stitched rectangle die. One of these was used full width and the other I cut down using strips from each side to keep the stitching element and put these behind the rose garden piece after I mounted it onto another piece of white cardstock. I found this pretty green branch paper on my desk and thought that it suited the die cut piece.

For the sentiment I cut a piece of card stock to the right size and cut a banner into one end. This piece I inked with some purple distress ink before stamping the anniversary sentiment in Sweet Plum Memento Ink. At the end of the banner I put some gold washi tape and cut a heart die and used my distress ink again to colour it up and once I mounted it to the card I put some pink stickles around the edge just for some sparkle. On the berries of the die cut I put some Shimmering Rose Nuvo Drops just to add a little more dimension.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team card for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will come on over and give the sketch a try we would love to see what you create with it. Before you depart my blog though I would love to leave you with is las thought for this post.

Try Stampin no.465

Hello everyone, I told you in my previous post that I would be popping in again with another card project. It is for another sketch challenge as I love sketches for my card making.

07 11 TSOT 465

Here is the sketch that started this card off.

The digi image that I used is from Bugaboo Digi Image called “Jack and Diane – Love Tag” I was in need of an anniversary card for a wonderful couple that we know. So the colouring is based on them and their fav colours. The papers that I chose to use was from an already started paper pad and for the stripe at the side I didn’t have anything that truly matched so I decided to make my own with distress inks and a heart stencil. I love using inks and stencils in this way – it can also add a little fun.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card using this sketch. Before you go from my blog I would love to leave you with this thought for this post.

Until my next post,

Friends Gods Gift

Hello everyone, I have made some cards over the past couple of days. As I said in my last post I have had to make some adjustments to how I do things because of my limited abilities at the moment. But I think that I have worked out the best adjustment for me. But anywho onto the main reason that you stopped on by today … my card

01 15 Friend

This card started with a sketch and this time around it is the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #351. I use to be on their design team but due to my health I had to step down but I still love playing along with the sketches when I can.

Isn’t this a great sketch! As you can see I have turned this onto its side the main reason for doing this is that I wanted to use this long sentiment and it fitted best this way. This is more of the same paper pack from the last card; this sketch was perfect for me getting towards the bottom of the pack because I mainly have strips from cutting bases for other cards.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and looking at my card project. Before you depart from my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Do something creative every day.

Vase of Flowers

Hello, everyone, I am wondering if you are like me and love to use up supplies that have been sitting in your stash for a while? I know that I love getting to use images or papers that have been in my stash for a while. And this card I got to dig in my stash and use some of it up 🙂

01-11-vase-of-flowers.jpg

This image has been sitting in my image box for I don’t know how long but the colours in it co-ordinated so well with this paper pack that I have been working my way through … it was just meant to be together. This card started with a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches #536

I had so much fun creating with this sketch. The next time I use it though I hope to add the element around the sentiment but this time around I am fighting my body pain so I created it as I could. All of the main elements have been layered with brown lightweight card.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. I am glad that you stopped by before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder.

Until my next post,

Looking Back

Hello everyone, this card that I am bringing you was started by the Sketch Saturday crew who this week have asked us to look back in their archives. Then choose a sketch to have fun with.

12-06-love-conquers-all.jpg

And this is the card that I made for Challenge #592 from Sketch Saturday. The sketch that I chose was this one

This sketch was from July 27th. I did actually make a card for this challenge originally and I have used this sketch since; it has become one of my favourites to use. This time around I decided to monotone with my colours and this is going to be an anniversary card for some friends of mine. The image is called “Love Blocks – Love Conquers All” from Bugaboo Digital Stamps and I thought it would go wonderfully with my black and white monotone colour scheme.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card for this challenge. Before you go from my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Love from Afar

Hello everyone, today this card could be used for Valentine’s Day next year or for an anniversary card. Now that my Christmas cards for this year are complete I can work towards next year’s celebrations 😀 It’s nice to be ahead for once.

I also think that this card would suit either a guy or a girl because I don’t think that I have gone too far either way. And this card started with a sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #344.

What a fun sketch to play along with and I hope that you like what I have done with this sketch. Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. I really appreciate all of the likes and comments on my posts. Before you go from my blog I would like to leave you with this thought for this post.

Love Always Wins

Hello everyone, I am bringing you an anniversary card this time around. With anniversary cards I am always looking for a different way to present them. This card was inspired by a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketch #521 and here is the card that came from it.

09 22 Love Always Wins

I think that I was able to present a different anniversary card by the use of this sentiment. It is definitely different from the usual. And this is the sketch that I started with.

It is on the simple side of my usual style but I am really happy with how it turned out and I think this could go to anyone. Another thing that I am aiming for in my card making – cards that are suitable for multiple people.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. I am glad that you decided to drop on by my blog today. Before you depart I would like to leave you with this last thought for you to ponder on.

Until next time, do something that makes you smile,

Anniversary Squared

Hello Everyone,
This time around I have made an anniversary card. But in a shape that I don’t usually tackle a square. The reason that I don’t usually make square cards is that it usually costs more in postage to send them. But I did create one prompted to do so by this sketch by Sketch Saturday.

I didn’t actually figure out the sizes when I made this card I just created a card using this as my inspiration and this is what I came up with.

07 18 Anniversary Square

As you can see my creation is not a 100% representation of the sketch. But I didn’t have the sketch in front of me when I was creating. I am still happy with its results. If it is not suitable please let me know and I will remove it. I just had fun creating with bits of paper from my leftover drawer.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. I hope that you stop by again some other time. Until then I would like to leave you with this final thought before you go.

Celebrate

Hello Everyone,
I know that a lot of people out there love colouring pages for fun and relaxation. I know that I do; it’s an easy craft to take with you almost anywhere. I decided to get two enjoyments from my colouring in activities by using what I had done and using them to make cards with. Today’s card shows this with a set of 3 cards.

03 17 Colour Time Dream 1.JPG

and here is the first card up close

03-17-colour-time-dream-1b.jpg

I cut this panel 1st from the colouring page because I knew the exact card that I was going to make with this image. I thought that this pair of birds would make a lovely anniversary card. I didn’t matt this image as I would have had to cut too much of my colouring away to make it fit in. I had this small heart background in my stash and thought that this would help set the anniversary theme. Then in my ribbon box I found this ribbon which I thought suited as well and this is where I left the decorations except to add the Happy Anniversary Sticker onto the ribbon.

When I went to upload this card I found that Cute Card Thursday had uploaded their latest challenge

Image result for celebrate meaning

And they have asked us to Celebrate with them as it is their 11th Birthday. But you can interpenetrate this theme any way that you would like to. So I am celebrating the love of two people. Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. I really appreciate the likes and comments on my blog. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Special Wishes

Hello Everyone,
Spent some time in my craft space this afternoon. Doing a little clean up but also had time to make a card as well. I went over to the Color Throwdown challenge blog to see what they were up to and I made this card

02 14 Special Wishes

and this is the colour palette that I had to play around with

The background paper was my starting point and I saw the kisses washi tape in my stash and that was another element that I could use but I wasn’t sure how to pull it all together so I went looking for a sketch to help me map it all out. And I chose this one from Sketch Saturday

Sketch Saturday 544
These measurements are for the front of an A6 sized card. All mats add a further 0.5cm.

Then I knew how to pull it all together. I decided to pull out my distress inks to make the heart paper element as I didn’t have anything that worked fully.  With the sentiment set that I used for this card it could be used for many occasions I think. Then all of the elements have been matted onto black paper just to help make them pop.

I hope that you like my interpretation of this colour palette. If you did why not consider hitting the like button or even leaving a comment. Before you go though I would like to leave you with this thought

Captain Kirk quote

How true is this! And yes we can talk ourselves out of so much just because we fear of what is to come. This is why whenever I am facing something I want all the facts so that I can work towards meeting it.
