Hello everyone, I am here to give you some inspiration for the sketch challenge that is happening over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge at the moment. And Michelle has given us this sketch to play with
I used some new products to me to create my card and this is what I came up with using this sketch.
My interpretation is a little different to the sketch but not so much that you can not see the sketch in it. I love how this turned out – the sketch came first but then I got this die in the mail from one of my orders and that started off my card making. The die is called “Ella’s Rose Garden and Brick Wall” and it is from an Australian company called Paper Rose. I am slowly collecting their wonderful products and having such fun creating with them.
I first used several distress inks to ink up a piece of white card stock before putting it through my Gemini Jnr machine. Before I did this though I put some double sided tape on the back of the piece because I didn’t fancy trying to put glue on the little areas after it was cut. While I was using my machine I also put 2 pieces of brown layering weight card stock through with a stitched rectangle die. One of these was used full width and the other I cut down using strips from each side to keep the stitching element and put these behind the rose garden piece after I mounted it onto another piece of white cardstock. I found this pretty green branch paper on my desk and thought that it suited the die cut piece.
For the sentiment I cut a piece of card stock to the right size and cut a banner into one end. This piece I inked with some purple distress ink before stamping the anniversary sentiment in Sweet Plum Memento Ink. At the end of the banner I put some gold washi tape and cut a heart die and used my distress ink again to colour it up and once I mounted it to the card I put some pink stickles around the edge just for some sparkle. On the berries of the die cut I put some Shimmering Rose Nuvo Drops just to add a little more dimension.
Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team card for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will come on over and give the sketch a try we would love to see what you create with it. Before you depart my blog though I would love to leave you with is las thought for this post.
Until my next post,
