Digital Stamps, Handmade Cards, Thank You

Thanks, Ms. Rachel

Hello everyone, yes I am back with a card project (((insert happy dance))). I made this card for 2 reasons. 1. my daughter requested a Thank You card and 2. most of the challenge sites I usually play along with were hosting Halloween challenges and I don’t do this holiday. But I decided to share my card make anyway because I was so happy to be able to do some crafting again after all the stuff that’s been going on. If you want to know more about this please see my previous post.

My daughter asked me to make her a Thank You card for the Teacher that has been supervising her for her Teacher Prep. This is where student teachers (my daughter) go into a classroom and teach classes and are assessed on their performance by the teacher (Ms. Rachel) who usually teaches that class. My daughter has been in Ms. Rachel’s class for the past month and tomorrow is her last day with her. She has really enjoyed working with Ms. Rachel. And this is the card that I made for her to give to her.

10 31 Art Mug

The artist mug image is from Meljen’s Digital Designs; I love using this image for the artistic people in my world – it suits so many occasions. The paper comes from a pad by Kasiercraft called “The Class of ’82” and it is an old one that has been sitting in my stash for ages. Each of the layers is matted with maroon paper and I added some stars because I like them and they were hanging out in my stash 😀

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card creation even though it isn’t part of a challenge. Before you go from my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on.

Thanks a Bunch

Hello Everyone,
Another card made from my scraps drawer. But this time I included a new to me image from Bugaboo Images called Flower Teddy. Isn’t he adorable?

07 29 Thanks a Bunch

I coloured in this adorable bear with my Copic markers. This card started with a sketch from Stella Says Sketch #712. And this is my 2nd creation with this sketch.

Stella Says 712

My card doesn’t match the sketch exactly but I do hope that it is still acceptable for the challenge. I was making this card away from my desk and didn’t have the sketch beside me and by the time I realized what had happened, it was too late. I still enjoyed the making of the card because I was able to dig into my scraps drawer again and be able to pull together another card from pieces that were just too big to throw away.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. I appreciate all of the likes and comments that I get on my posts. Before you go as always I would like to leave you with this last thought.

I'm listening...

Until Next Time,
Tracy B

Good Luck Thank You

Hello everyone.

Todays card is for a friend who will be leaving our Spinning group to pastures new in New Zealand. I was following a card sketch but didn’t follow it to the letter but you will see what I mean once I show you both the card and the sketch.

And now for the sketch that started this cardmaking exercise – Sketch Saturday #543

As you can see the outcome of the card was a little different to the sketch but not a lot that I hope it is still suitable for the challenge.

The difference came about because of the Butterfly Hat digital image by Julie Spiri which I had printed and coloured with my Faber-Castell Polychromos. So I adjusted the smaller rectangle to suit the layout. The stars I turned into squares to fit around the 2 sentiment stamps. I kept the rest of the card simple because I wanted the image to be the main focus.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project today. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this thought for the day

I have struggled with this over the past couple of years due to a few circumstances. But I can now see a way through some of it and so it is a start of recovery. So all I can say is Don’t let the world determine who you should be!

Falling Leaves

Hello Everyone,
Another card inspired by two card challenges again, this is the 2nd card  I have to go into both of these challenges. I just loved the challenge idea so much and it helps me to build up my made card stash.

So the challenges are

And this is the outcome for the combination of these 2 challenges

The leaf stamp set is an older one from Bo Bunny but it’s one of my favorite ones. So I used some painters tape and scrap paper to mask off an area.

I chose to use 3 Distress Inks to achieve the Teal strip. Leaving the painters tape in place I stamped the leaves using both a Green and Red ink on each of the leaves. I was really pleased with how this turned out I think I may make a couple more using this combination.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. And now I would like to leave you with a thought before you leave:

I am definitely not the same I was at the beginning of this year, month, week or even day. It’s just learning to leave with each of the changes that is hard.

Have a Happy Crafty Fun kind of (changing) Day
