Atlantic Hearts 374

Hello everyone, yes another card for today. When I have times of feeling well I make the most of it because you never know what the next hour may have in store. This time around it is an encouragement card.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #374 provided the starting point for this card

This time around I didn’t actually have any of my colouring on this card. But I did stamp one of the flowers from MFT’s Sketched Blooms set. This is a fun set to play around with and I think it finished the tag off nicely. I hope that you liked what I did with the sketch.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this thought for this post.

Until my next post,

Stella Says Sketch 811

Hello everyone, another card that I got to finish up today. And I am happy to say that I have almost finished off the paper pack I have been working through.

06 16 Stella 811 B

Another image from Bugaboo Digital Stamps called “Fun Flowers” which I coloured in with my Polychromos Pencils while at a friends place 🙂 But this card started with a sketch from Stella Say Sketch #811.

You will notice that I actually flipped this sketch because of the image that I chose to use and the placement that I had pre-printed it in before I knew of this challenge. But this is one thing that you can do with sketches – you can spin them to suit the supplies that you have.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

You are Amazing

Hello everyone, with everything that is happening around the world at the moment and so many events being cancelled and people having to self-isolate we can start to feel disconnected. So to counteract this I am planning on sending some cards to friends and family.

03 17 You are amazing

This card started with the sketch #601 from Sketch Saturday.

I am really pleased with how this card turned out, I wasn’t able to follow the sketch exactly but I was guided by this bunny image. I had coloured in this image with my Copic markers quite a while ago and it has been sitting in my finished images waiting to be used. The papers that I used are from a magazine that I got ages ago and I found them in my stash when I was cleaning through a section of my craft area.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Be yourself the world will have to adjust.

Until my next post,

Sending Prayers

Hello everyone, another card using my stash supplies. This is going to be a regular in my posts this year as I want to use up what I have or donate it because just looking at some of the stuff is not conducive to being creative. Anywho onto the card project …

01 11 Sending Prayers

This image I coloured with my Polychromos Pencils while my Daughter was attending an Art Class but I had never turned it into a finished project. When I put this card together I was following this sketch #528 from Julie at Mojo Monday

Some of my elements are different but I was working with the supplies that I had. Seeing this finally on a card makes me very happy. I am sure that the perfect person for this card will come across my path.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. I am glad that you stopped on by before you depart I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on.

Until my next post,
Just be you the world will adjust!

Vase of Flowers

Hello, everyone, I am wondering if you are like me and love to use up supplies that have been sitting in your stash for a while? I know that I love getting to use images or papers that have been in my stash for a while. And this card I got to dig in my stash and use some of it up 🙂

This image has been sitting in my image box for I don’t know how long but the colours in it co-ordinated so well with this paper pack that I have been working my way through … it was just meant to be together. This card started with a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches #536

I had so much fun creating with this sketch. The next time I use it though I hope to add the element around the sentiment but this time around I am fighting my body pain so I created it as I could. All of the main elements have been layered with brown lightweight card.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. I am glad that you stopped by before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder.

Until my next post,

Bless Your Mess

09 Bless Your Nest.JPG

Hello everyone. The card that I am sharing with you was inspired by the previous sketch that I used but had to cover a mess so my copying of the sketch didn’t go as planned.

I made this card for a friend of mine who is getting to move into her own place after many years of having to share house with other people. I wanted to make her something to celebrate this milestone. The bird and wattle images are from the August Stamp and Colour Kit by Uniquely Creative. I coloured these in with my Copic markers. The birdhouse is from a magazine the sentiment also came from the magazine stamp set but I updated it to say ‘your’ to better suit a single person.

I really hope that my friend likes her card and has many new and happy memories to come in her new digs. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project and as always before you leave I want to leave you with this thought:

You don’t need to move address to achieve this but sometimes it helps. Sometimes it is cleaning out the past, arranging (better) the present and preparing for a better future. I feel like I have achieved this of late with my decluttering.

Believe in Yourself

Hello Everyone,

How hard is it for us to believe in ourselves?

I actually find this quite challenging especially since I was diagnosed with a long term illness over 18 years ago. The things that I once did without even thinking are numerous and  it amazing how much I now have to plan things.  And sometimes I don’t get all of my plans done … so doubts about myself have/do creep in and I find it hard to believe in my abilities.  But I know that I am on a journey with my God and He does have it all worked out even though I find it hard to continue to trust the path that has been set. Why am I so certain of this ….. because it is written many times in the Bible but this verse is my favourite

2 Samuel 22:33
God is my protection [is my strong fortress; or girds me with strength].
He makes my way free from fault [perfect; secure; a wide path].

I wanted to make this card for a friend who is going through some stuff just to let her know that she can believe in herself and things will get better.  I made this card based on these 2 challenges:

I loved the colour combo #ctd497 being used at the moment over at Color Throwdown and then I found the Sketch #276 by Chrissy over at CASe this Sketch. I knew exactly how to pull this sketch and colour combo together with my new Uniquely Creative supplies. And this is result

Believe in You Jun2018.jpg

I had so much fun using the supplies from the June Stamp & Colour plus some colour paper from my stash.  The first step was to stamp and colour the cute dogs and pillows from the Dreamy Stamp Set, I used my Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils for the dogs and some Derwent Watercolor Pencils to colour the pillow stack.

Then it was onto creating the colourful spotty background. This was a time consuming process but I am so happy with how it turned out. I first cut the dots from the cream coloured card stock using my Cuttlebug and the Sprinkle Dots Background Die which comes as part of the June kit. Then I backed 4 pieces of paper from my stash trying to match the Color Throwdown combo as close as I could with Double Sided Sticky paper and ran these through my Cuttlebug.  Then I had to find where the pieces matched up with the original cream piece but placing them was so much easier thanks to the double sided paper.

Then I assembled the card after cutting out the dogs and pillows by hand. My ScanNCut may have to make a reappearance because it is getting much hard for me to do fine scissor work as my hands get worse with pain. After attaching the images I used my stamp press to make the sentiment out of 2 separate sentiments so that it would say what I wanted. I love using my stamp press for doing this kind of thing and especially if I don’t get a good impression the first time I can repeat the stamping.

And that was the end of the outside of my card. I am happy that you stopped by to look at my project today, but before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought:
Every time you find some humor in a difficult situation, you win.
This says it all really. If you can find the good in the horrible then it doesn’t seem so bad. I know this to be true – sometimes I forget to do this!

Changing Crafts for Health

Hello Everyone,
I want to start by saying today I am celebrating!!
I am 1 year post partial left lung removal due to cancer.
How this all came about happening was a miracle because it was found during a scan of my heart.  After this scan they looked at previous scans and found that this cancer had been in my lung since 2002 and hadn’t changed!! Mostly lung cancers are quite aggressive but mine decided to do nothing for 14 years. My God was definitely looking after me because back in 2002 I was pregnant with our 2nd child. I was very lucky that I didn’t need any Chemo or Radiation afterwards because the biopsy came back clear. God is so good.

So lately I have been doing a lot of crochet because I am trying to complete some of my WIPs (Works In Progress) and I have been laid up in bed with my chronic illness.  But unfortunately I have found that I can not do the same craft for a long period of time otherwise my body starts to object to my continuing.  I had forgotten this until I started getting horrid shoulder pain because of the repetitive nature of crochet.

I decided to have some fun colouring an image and then I loved how it turned out that I decided to make a card.  Changing crafts worked and I was able to be creative again and not be in so much pain while doing it.  Diversity is good in a lot of things in life.

And this is the creation….

Best Wishes.jpg

This card was inspired by 2 card challenges

My favourite place to start a sketch and this sketch #339 by Jen B from Freshly Made Sketches was this weeks challenge.  Then I loved the colour combination #495 put forward by Jodi from Color Throwdown so then it was off to find a suitable image to use. The image that I chose to use came from a set that I got from the magazine Creative Stamping Issue 37
Image result for creative stamping issue 37

This is such a lovely set, I haven’t had the chance to use it much but I am in the process of doing up my stamp storage so I hope to be able to make more use of these kinds of sets that I have accumulated.

I had stamped the image onto one half of an A5 sheet of  white heavy weight cardstock which I ended up folding and making into the card base as well. The flowers I coloured with my Faber-Castell Polychromos but used my watercolour pencils to make the burgandy/maroon colour in the background.  The papers I got from my stash same with the gold stickers.  I hope that you like my take on both the sketch and the colour challenge.

I want to thank you for stopping by my blog and I want to leave you with this last thought:

Falling Leaves

Hello Everyone,
Another card inspired by two card challenges again, this is the 2nd card  I have to go into both of these challenges. I just loved the challenge idea so much and it helps me to build up my made card stash.

So the challenges are

and alsof27dc-2523102

And this is the outcome for the combination of these 2 challenges
Falling Leaves.jpg
The leaf stamp set is an older one from Bo Bunny but it’s one of my favorite ones. So I used some painters tape and scrap paper to mask off an area.

I chose to use 3 Distress Inks to achieve the Teal strip. Leaving the painters tape in place I stamped the leaves using both a Green and Red ink on each of the leaves. I was really pleased with how this turned out I think I may make a couple more using this combination.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. And now I would like to leave you with a thought before you leave:

I am definitely not the same I was at the beginning of this year, month, week or even day. It’s just learning to leave with each of the changes that is hard.
