You Are My Happy Place

Hello everyone. Today’s card project comes from the starting place of a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches; even though for me it is actually Wednesday 😉

09 1st TMS621

And this is the Tuesday Morning Sketch #621.

Before I went to make this card I looked at my card stash to see what type of card I was low in and I found that I didn’t have many anniversary cards and I have some coming up in the next couple of months. So that decided how I was going to theme this card.

The image is from my card making program which I had printed a little while ago. The sentiment is from PhotoPlay Stamps and is their Happy set. I love all of the little stamps that come with this large happy stamp it makes it very versatile and I love sets like this. I added some Love From Lizi Sway Red Mirror Peel Offs to the strip across the middle. I love these but I really don’t like photographing them or anything with sheen to it. But I may have cracked it – maybe! The lipstick washi tape has been in my stash for I don’t know how long; so good to be using it.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my creation using the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. Today I hope that you will find yourself doing something that you love.

Until my next post,

AHSC no.393

Hello everyone, I am back with another card for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. If you have been to my blog before you will know how much I love using sketches for my card making.

AHSC 393

And this is the fabulous sketch from Michelle that I was given and you are now able to use in your creation.

AHSC 393 Nov 2nd 2020

This time around I decided that I needed to get away from all of the Christmas card making that I have been doing of lately. In amongst the paper pack that I chose to use I found this sentiment square which I cut down with a circle die and then cut a scalloped circle for the layer. I decided to use 2 different papers for above and below the blue paper on the sketch as I thought this gave the card a little more interest.

I think that this card can be used for multiple occasions and I love cards like this. Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design for the AHSC Design Team. Please let me know that you have stopped on by with either a like or a comment, I really appreciate it. Before you depart my blog I would love to leave you with this final thought for this post.

AHSC no.381

Hello everyone, I am here to give you some inspiration for the sketch challenge that is happening over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge at the moment. And Michelle has given us this sketch to play with

AHSC 381 Aug 10th 2020

I used some new products to me to create my card and this is what I came up with using this sketch.

AHSC 381

My interpretation is a little different to the sketch but not so much that you can not see the sketch in it. I love how this turned out – the sketch came first but then I got this die in the mail from one of my orders and that started off my card making. The die is called “Ella’s Rose Garden and Brick Wall” and it is from an Australian company called Paper Rose. I am slowly collecting their wonderful products and having such fun creating with them.

I first used several distress inks to ink up a piece of white card stock before putting it through my Gemini Jnr machine. Before I did this though I put some double sided tape on the back of the piece because I didn’t fancy trying to put glue on the little areas after it was cut. While I was using my machine I also put 2 pieces of brown layering weight card stock through with a stitched rectangle die. One of these was used full width and the other I cut down using strips from each side to keep the stitching element and put these behind the rose garden piece after I mounted it onto another piece of white cardstock. I found this pretty green branch paper on my desk and thought that it suited the die cut piece.

For the sentiment I cut a piece of card stock to the right size and cut a banner into one end. This piece I inked with some purple distress ink before stamping the anniversary sentiment in Sweet Plum Memento Ink. At the end of the banner I put some gold washi tape and cut a heart die and used my distress ink again to colour it up and once I mounted it to the card I put some pink stickles around the edge just for some sparkle. On the berries of the die cut I put some Shimmering Rose Nuvo Drops just to add a little more dimension.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team card for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will come on over and give the sketch a try we would love to see what you create with it. Before you depart my blog though I would love to leave you with is las thought for this post.

Try Stampin no.465

Hello everyone, I told you in my previous post that I would be popping in again with another card project. It is for another sketch challenge as I love sketches for my card making.

07 11 TSOT 465

Here is the sketch that started this card off.

The digi image that I used is from Bugaboo Digi Image called “Jack and Diane – Love Tag” I was in need of an anniversary card for a wonderful couple that we know. So the colouring is based on them and their fav colours. The papers that I chose to use was from an already started paper pad and for the stripe at the side I didn’t have anything that truly matched so I decided to make my own with distress inks and a heart stencil. I love using inks and stencils in this way – it can also add a little fun.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card using this sketch. Before you go from my blog I would love to leave you with this thought for this post.

Until my next post,

Looking Back

Hello everyone, this card that I am bringing you was started by the Sketch Saturday crew who this week have asked us to look back in their archives. Then choose a sketch to have fun with.

12-06-love-conquers-all.jpg

And this is the card that I made for Challenge #592 from Sketch Saturday. The sketch that I chose was this one

This sketch was from July 27th. I did actually make a card for this challenge originally and I have used this sketch since; it has become one of my favourites to use. This time around I decided to monotone with my colours and this is going to be an anniversary card for some friends of mine. The image is called “Love Blocks – Love Conquers All” from Bugaboo Digital Stamps and I thought it would go wonderfully with my black and white monotone colour scheme.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card for this challenge. Before you go from my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Love from Afar

Hello everyone, today this card could be used for Valentine’s Day next year or for an anniversary card. Now that my Christmas cards for this year are complete I can work towards next year’s celebrations 😀 It’s nice to be ahead for once.

I also think that this card would suit either a guy or a girl because I don’t think that I have gone too far either way. And this card started with a sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #344.

What a fun sketch to play along with and I hope that you like what I have done with this sketch. Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. I really appreciate all of the likes and comments on my posts. Before you go from my blog I would like to leave you with this thought for this post.

Until the next post,

Well Made Anniversary

Hello everyone, today I am here to share with you a card that I have made for a wonderful couple that I know. I tried to make a card that would suit both of them because they like different things.

10 13 Well Made Anniversary

Can you tell what they love to do? This card started with a sketch inspiration from Tuesday Morning Sketches #524. It stumped me for a while and the card doesn’t follow this sketch …

… 100% but I am happy with how it turned out. I definitely didn’t get as many strips of patterned paper in the background, my calculations went wrong but I still liked how many I got. And I couldn’t undo because I was sticking as I was cutting so that I didn’t get my strips out of order 🙂

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. I really appreciate you stopping by and all of the comments and likes that my posts have been receiving. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on.

Tulip Vase

Hello everyone, today I am actually bringing you 2 cards made with the one image from Power Poppy. I haven’t done this to an image for a while but this image just cried out for it to be done.  Here is a photo of the 2 cards together and then I will concentrate on one card at a time with a close up of the image.

09 25 Vase Tulips

But this card actually started with a sketch from Sketch Saturday #582.

You can see how I have used this sketch with the halves of the picture. I flipped the sketch just so that it suited the 2nd side. This image was coloured in with some watercolour paints onto some rough watercolour paper that I put through my printer to get this image. The image is called “Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher Digital Stamp Set” and it is still available. You can also buy it as a clear photopolymer stamp set as well. I love images from Power Poppy they can be used for so many different occasions. This was my first time using watercolour paints since I was in high school.

Here is the Happy Anniversary Card just by itself.

09 25 Vase Tulips 1

I didn’t have a die that came near the sketch so I used the curliest one that I could find. I matted each layer with maroon card stock and added the Happy Anniversary sticker from my stash. The 3 hearts were on the same sticker sheet so I added them to the top right and that finished off this side of the image 🙂

Thanks for coming to my blog today and looking at my card project. I hope that you like what I did with this sketch. I am grateful for all of the comments and likes on my posts. And as always I would like to leave you with this image to ponder on before you go.

Rose Hill.

Until next time, find something that you love and do it!

Love Always Wins

Hello everyone, I am bringing you an anniversary card this time around. With anniversary cards I am always looking for a different way to present them. This card was inspired by a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketch #521 and here is the card that came from it.

09 22 Love Always Wins

I think that I was able to present a different anniversary card by the use of this sentiment. It is definitely different from the usual. And this is the sketch that I started with.

It is on the simple side of my usual style but I am really happy with how it turned out and I think this could go to anyone. Another thing that I am aiming for in my card making – cards that are suitable for multiple people.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. I am glad that you decided to drop on by my blog today. Before you depart I would like to leave you with this last thought for you to ponder on.

Until next time, do something that makes you smile,
❤ Tracy

Anniversary Squared

Hello Everyone,
This time around I have made an anniversary card. But in a shape that I don’t usually tackle a square. The reason that I don’t usually make square cards is that it usually costs more in postage to send them. But I did create one prompted to do so by this sketch by Sketch Saturday.

I didn’t actually figure out the sizes when I made this card I just created a card using this as my inspiration and this is what I came up with.

07 18 Anniversary Square

As you can see my creation is not a 100% representation of the sketch. But I didn’t have the sketch in front of me when I was creating. I am still happy with its results. If it is not suitable please let me know and I will remove it. I just had fun creating with bits of paper from my leftover drawer.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. I hope that you stop by again some other time. Until then I would like to leave you with this final thought before you go.
