May Stash Technique Challenge for 52CCT

Hello everyone, I am here with my last hostess duty for May as it is time for a Technique or Stash Challenge for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I have had so much fun hosting the challenges during May and I want to thank everyone who joined in over the month.

So any way onto this weeks challenge. As I said it was a choice between Stash and Technique and I chose

04 May technique

Well, technically this is a both Stash and Technique challenge because we are digging into our stash to find those long ago bought embossing folders which I am sure haven’t been used lately to do this technique. Or you could be digging into your embossing powder stash to find just the right colour to now use for this technique. See what I mean about it being really about both 🙂

The background I embossed with a folder that I have loved for a long time because it reminded me of the flowers I see in Australia during Christmas. And then I coloured it with my watercolours and highlighted certain areas with darker pen. The sentiment is actually the combination of 2 stamp sets a Birthday set for the Happy and a Christmas set for the Christmas Greetings.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Stash/Technique Card for the challenge happening over at the 52CCT. I hope that you will pop on over to the blog and see what the other design team have gotten up to this week. And maybe consider joining in on the fun with your own project. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Not as much in my craft room after I have been making different types of cards for the past couple of months.

Until my next post,
😀 Tracy

I had a lot of fun creating this window to put my festive Cockatoo into. This card was made using the paper pad called “Under the Gum Leaves” by Kasiercraft. I also added some Love from Lizi peel offs just to jazz things up a little.
Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team work for the Window Technique Challenge over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog. I hope that you will come on over to our blog and look at what the other design team members have done with this challenge. And then I hope that you will join in on the fun of the challenge. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

52CCT January Colour

Hello everyone, welcome to week 2 of January challenges. With it being week 2 we are going to be having fun with colour this time around and our host Andreja has chosen these ones for us to play with.

This is such a wonderful set of colours to play along with. When I saw this combo I knew exactly what I wanted to do for it.

So what do you think of my choice? The papers that I have used are from a Kasiercraft paper pack that is Australian inspired papers. The Kookaburra image is from Make it Crafty and is a digital image so I can size him for any project. The sentiment I made on my computer and then coloured it in with my distress inks so it wasn’t so stark.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project for our colour challenge this week. I hope that you will stop on by our blog and play along with our challenge. But before you go on over there I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Keep going at your pace; it is enough.

52CCT January Sketch

Hello everyone, welcome to 2020 and the fun and challenges with the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge Design Team. As it was in previous years each week of the month will bring a different type of challenge. And each month we will have a new host and for January we have Andreja L. So to kick off the month we have a sketch to play around with

You can see that this card sketch is formed in a square. And this is the card that I made using this sketch.

01 Wk1 Sketch

As you can see I have turned it into a rectangular card design. I don’t make square cards as they cost so much more to post here in Australia. But I am still really happy with what I came up with because I can still see the sketch design in my card.

I had a lot of fun making this card and colouring in the Australian/Warm Weather Christmas image for this card. It is so nice to find something that represents another side of the Christmas celebrations. I also got to use up some of my leftovers to make this card as well because I had these papers sitting in my Christmas crafting box.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my 1st Design Team project for 2020. I hope that you will join in the fun that we have in store this year. Before you depart from my blog I would like to leave you with this final thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Always enjoy whatever you may have to do.

Ice Cream Christmas

Hello Everyone,
This time around I bring you a Christmas card with a bit of a difference.  You see for people like myself who live in the southern hemisphere – our Christmas is definitely not full of Snow, roaring fireplaces and Cold.  We are preparing for Sunny Weather, maybe some Rain and being able to Swim and eat Ice Cream on Christmas Day.  So I decided to create a card that reflects my Southern Christmas.

This card was created using an image I had in my stash which I stamped on watercolour paper this time around and got out my little used watercolour pencils.  After this was complete I used my Cuttlebug to cut out a circle of white paper to make the tree background and a layer of burgundy red paper using my scalloped die.  The reindeer paper is another from my stash of Christmas papers which is thankfully shrinking 🙂

Sometimes I like to make cards like this that reflect what our Christmas will involve. With picnics, swimming and going to the beach being planned for our holidays and of course seeing our family.  But of course we will not forget the real reason for this wonderful season – the Birth of our Saviour Jesus.

This card was made for the following challenges

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation.  And as always I would love to leave you with this thought before you go:
A Christmas Blessing
