52CCT August 2021 Theme

Hello everyone. Here we are in the 3rd week of August and it is theme challenge time over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. And this months’ theme is

Any type of bird can be used and how you make that bird is up to you. They just have to be in the Christmas spirit. With that in mind I made this card creation.

As you can see I used an Australian Emu because I live in Australia and I have a brand new paper pad from Kasiercraft called “Under the Gum Leaves”. Since I am making cards for a retirement home I thought that some cards that didn’t depict snow and other cold elements would be nice. We definitely don’t have that weather. The emu image and the sentiment are cut aparts in the pad and they both made me smile. The only thing that I did to both of these was edge each with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink just to make the edges more distinct.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project for the 52CCT August Theme Challenge. I hope that you will stop on by the other designers and see what they have been up to with this theme. And why not come and create along with us and show us your makes on our challenge blog.

Until my next post,

I had a lot of fun creating this window to put my festive Cockatoo into. This card was made using the paper pad called “Under the Gum Leaves” by Kasiercraft. I also added some Love from Lizi peel offs just to jazz things up a little.
Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team work for the Window Technique Challenge over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog. I hope that you will come on over to our blog and look at what the other design team members have done with this challenge. And then I hope that you will join in on the fun of the challenge. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

52CCT January Colour

Hello everyone, welcome to week 2 of January challenges. With it being week 2 we are going to be having fun with colour this time around and our host Andreja has chosen these ones for us to play with.

This is such a wonderful set of colours to play along with. When I saw this combo I knew exactly what I wanted to do for it.

01 Wk2 Colour

So what do you think of my choice? The papers that I have used are from a Kasiercraft paper pack that is Australian inspired papers. The Kookaburra image is from Make it Crafty and is a digital image so I can size him for any project. The sentiment I made on my computer and then coloured it in with my distress inks so it wasn’t so stark.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project for our colour challenge this week. I hope that you will stop on by our blog and play along with our challenge. But before you go on over there I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Always

Until my next post,
Keep going at your pace; it is enough.

Aussie Birthday

Hello everyone, a birthday card with some Aussie friends on it. I have a wonderful paper pad from Kasiercraft that I am slowly using up because I love it so much and don’t want it to disappear quickly. This is the card I made with it.

10 06 Kooka Birthday

This card was inspired by a card sketch by the Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge. Their sketch TMS#523 started this card off. And this is that sketch

I had a lot of fun creating with this sketch. I think that it will end up in my favourites pile for me to reuse at some stage. The 6X6 paper pad is called Open Road by Kasiercraft it is Australiana themed and I may have more than 1 pad in my stash 😉 It is unusual to find a paper pad for my country.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. I appreciate all of the comments and likes on my posts. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on.

Until next time, make the most of the life you are living,
❤ Tracy

Bless Your Mess

09 Bless Your Nest.JPG

Hello everyone. The card that I am sharing with you was inspired by the previous sketch that I used but had to cover a mess so my copying of the sketch didn’t go as planned.

I made this card for a friend of mine who is getting to move into her own place after many years of having to share house with other people. I wanted to make her something to celebrate this milestone. The bird and wattle images are from the August Stamp and Colour Kit by Uniquely Creative. I coloured these in with my Copic markers. The birdhouse is from a magazine the sentiment also came from the magazine stamp set but I updated it to say ‘your’ to better suit a single person.

I really hope that my friend likes her card and has many new and happy memories to come in her new digs. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project and as always before you leave I want to leave you with this thought:

You don’t need to move address to achieve this but sometimes it helps. Sometimes it is cleaning out the past, arranging (better) the present and preparing for a better future. I feel like I have achieved this of late with my decluttering.

Have a Happy Crafty Arranged Kind of Day,
