AHSC no.483

Hello everyone. This morning I am here to share with you my make using the sketch from Michelle over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

This time around I made my card very close to the sketch. Some things are a little bit smaller or bigger but everything is there except the bow – I used a star instead. I thought that the star suited the main paper better. The flower is a die from Paper Rose Studio called the Alana Flower. It is a favourite in my collection and I have used some purple lightweight cardstock and some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Seedless Preserves was put around the edge of each piece with a sponge dauber. I used some holographic paper for the centre as this matched with the star.

Making a card with such softer colours was such a change to the last patterned papers that I had been using. I will be donating these to a challenge that donates care baskets to new parents and I thought a handmade card would be a nice thing to include.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card creation using the latest sketch from AHSC. I hope that you will come along and create with us and share your makes over on the challenge page.

Baby a Blessing

Hello everyone. Today I have a make for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #433. If you have been to my blog before you will know that I love working with card sketches. I tried recently to craft without starting with a sketch and ended up lost.

But any who onto the wonderful sketch that Michelle has given us to create with this week.

This sketch is a great way to finish off a paper pad because after creating many backgrounds you end up with a lot of strips of varying widths just like these.

ahsc-433

And that is how my card came about. These are some papers that are near the end of this paper pad that had been sitting in my stash of pads for years. It was nice to be able to nearly finish it off. A card or two more and it will be gone.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my design team make for AHSC #433. I hope that you will stop on by the other creators and see what they did with this sketch. It would also be amazing if you decided to come along and create with us. If you do we would love to see your creations.

Until my next post,

2nd Post Welcome Little One

Hello everyone. If you have visited my blog before you will know that I love using sketches for my card designs. Well this time around I have made 2 totally different cards but using the same sketch as inspiration.

07 18 TMS614 a07 18 TMS614

This sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches #614

The second card was made by using a small piece of patterned paper from a pack I have been finishing off. To achieve the curved piece I used the same oval die that I used for the previous card but this time I used the longer side of the oval. I cut a 2nd oval with dark blue layering card stock and added the patterned paper to it before attaching to the pink background card stock and using my trimmer to cut off the excess before adding this piece to some darker pink layering weight card stock just to give some definition from the main dark blue piece.

To make sure that I got a good solid impression of the sentiment I added this to my stamp positioning tool so that I could re-stamp if necessary – and it was! Such a card saving tool that one. I found on my desk this bunny which I had already fussy cut so I added her above the sentiment and just below I used some pink pinstripe stickers from Love From Lizzi just to add a little bit to the card.

Thanks for taking the time to get to this point in my post. I hope that you will find yourself doing something that you love today.

Until my next post,

Welcome Little One

Hello everyone. Todays card is made for 2 challenge blogs I hope to do another before the challenges finish but here is this creation.

06 30 TSOT512

And the challenges that inspired this creation

A sketch from Try Stampin Or Not on Tuesday
Double Trouble – crafting with Thing 1 and 2

The sketch from TSOT I tipped it onto it’s side. For the Double Trouble I stopped with Thing 1 and stayed square but not doing the other troubles was determined by the papers I was working with. The paper that I used for the background had some clear embossing on the paper already so maybe I did go on with the challenge.

This paper pack has been waiting for me to use it up and I was going to finish it off making some baby cards. But then I found that in my move I have lost my baby sentiments … argh!! So to I printed this sentiment using my word program on my computer and I printed some extras to not waste the paper.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. I hope that you will find yourself doing something that you truly love.

Mojo and Kristie

Hello everyone, sorry for not being around much. My health has been a trial this past little while but I was able to get back into my card making space and I had some fun making some cards.

Kristie Marcotte has a new challenge up at the moment using a sketch from Mojo Monday and if you have been to my blog before you know that I love using sketches in my card designing. And I love the sketches from Mojo Monday. I don’t follow their sizes exactly because I am using Australian card bases which are different but you can see the original sketch in my finished card.

And this is the sketch that we got to use in our designs, Mojo Monday #539

Do you know how hard it is to photograph gold elements! The strip across the card is actually 2 pieces of gold washi tape but no matter which way I put it I couldn’t get it to show up properly. 😦 The image I used is an old image from Meljen Digital Stamps but I still love using it for Baby cards because you can make it for either a boy or a girl. I decided to go with a boy this time because of the background papers I chose.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. Before you depart my blog I would love to leave you with this thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be kind to yourself and others.

Wee One Bug

Hello everyone, another card made from one of my images that I have watercoloured but this time around I have added some details with pens afterwards.

10 06 BugBoy

This cute little image is called Wee Little Bug from Bugaboo Digital Images and is still available. This card started with a sketch from Stella Says Sketch #716

But I will also be putting this card into the Anything Goes Challenge over at the Catch the Bug Challenge site.

I kept this card on the simple side because I wanted to let the watercolour image to be the main star. I had a lot of fun both colouring in the image and making up the card as well.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. I appreciate all of the likes and comments on my posts. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on.

If you want to add a little spring to your decor and love peonies as much as I do then you will love these free printable spring peony art in four quotes.

Until next time, enjoy the season you are in,

Baby and Bear

Hello everyone, the card that I have for you was made for the Catch The Bug Challenge. I am super pleased with how the card has turned out.

09 25 Its a Girl

The Catch the Bug Challenge is the September Bingo Challenge, these are fun to participate in because you have so many options.

For my card I went straight across the bottom. Even though this is a retired Bugaboo image I love using her as she is adorable sitting with her teddy friend. The papers that I used are actually from a card crafting magazine that I got quite a while ago but was sitting on my desk. The sentiment sticker has been sitting in my stash for ages but the gold stripes are actually new to my stash from a company called “Love From Lizi“. I love these but postage from the UK is a killer to the land of OZ – I got these when Lizi was offering free postage so I only had to pay for the product.

Thanks for coming on by my blog to have a look at my card project. I appreciate your visit and all of the likes and comments that I recieve on my posts. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought to ponder on.

Nice Cup of Tea

Until next time, find something that you love and go do it!

A Baby Boy

Hello Everyone,
I am here today to share a card with you that has taken a while to make. Only because life got in on the act this week. I had everything planned out and none of it came off. Well I suppose everything came together in the end! Because I am getting to share my card project with you….

But any who onto the reason for your visit … my card project.

03-10-a-boy.jpg

Oh I love this image from Bugaboo but unfortunately it is a retired image but there are lots of baby images still available here. In the beginning of the week I saw this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches

TMS 493

and I had started putting this card together but then life got in the way and part way through the week this challenge from Catch the Bug came in so I decided to combine them.

Image result for make a sceneWith the Catch the Bug Challenge Crew.

So to complete this card that I had started I had this image already coloured and it suited the papers that I had started to make the sketch with so I just went with it.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. I really appreciate all of the likes, comments and visits to my blog. And before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Maintain focus on ALL that is GOOD....Worry less about the wrongs and more about…

Until Next Time,

Baby Wrap for Friends

10.27.2018 Amy Matt Baby Wrap.JPG

Hello Everyone. I have mentioned before on my blog that I am not just a card maker. Well today I am sharing photos of the Baby Wrap that I crocheted and the card that I made as well.

This was made for Matt and Amy some wonderful friends of my family who are expecting their first child – a baby girl – in Nov/Dec of this year.

10.27.2018 Amy Matt Baby Wrap close up.JPG
A close up of the wrap

It is made from a Variegated Cotton yarn for the main body of the wrap and a White Cotton Yarn for the edging. As this baby is going to be born at the beginning of our Australian Summer I wanted it to be useful both now and when it gets cooler.  The wrap is approximately 90cm squared and all done in Double Crochet stitch using a 5mm hook.

And this is also the card that I made for the baby shower.

I printed the background with a sentiment that has always been a favourite of mine. And I used an adorable elephant image from My Favorite Things Birdie Brown Adorable Elephants Stamp set and coloured him in with my Copic markers.

I had such fun making both of these. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project today. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought

This is so true. A bond between Mother and Child is a powerful one. I am lucky to be called Mum by two wonderful humans. They will always be and will always have my love.

Have a Happy Crafty Wonderful Kind of Day,

PS If your still lucky to have your Mum around give her a call! She will love hearing from you. This is the one thing that I did more often with my own Mum especially since we live so far apart from each other.

Baby Girl

09 Baby Girl

Hello Everyone,
I am sharing with you a card made by using a sketch and some of my stash. Here is a picture of the sketch #530 by Kel from Sketch Saturday:

This paper pack has been sitting in my 6X6 paper pad storage for ages. I love the designs but I wasn’t in love with using the full pages any more. And then this sketch from Sketch Saturday came in and I knew that this paper set would go well.

The bits of paper that were in the pack were the correct size or close to to pull off this design. Some of the pieces were big enough that I had enough to make a 2nd card which I will share in another post. 🙂 It is a simpler card but sometimes it is fun to make something a little simpler.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my post today. But before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought:

I have to be creative. It is how I unwind, how I connect with the past and how I connect with friends who understand this need as well.

Have a Happy Crafty Creative Kind of Day,
❤ Tracy
