AHSC no.499

Hello everyone.
Today I am here to share with you a card that I made for the latest Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge.

I had this patterned paper sitting on my desk and I wanted to try and make some cards with it but I didn’t have any images left from the ephemera pack but I did have these flowers in my digital images collection. I printed these images including the sentiment and used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut them out.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my design team make for AHSC. I hope that you will come and create along with us.

Until my next post,

AHSC no.497

Hello everyone.
I am here today to share with you my design team make for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Sketch no.497 by Michelle is a square design but as you will see I have change it up to be a portrait instead. But first here is the sketch we were given to work with.

I really love this card but the camera is not liking the very pale pink paper that I used for the background and the circle. I bought these papers from my local craft shop which were on clearance because I loved the soft colours even in the images that were on a cut apart sheet but I could never find the right project to include them.

Even though the sketch shows images for Halloween, I don’t celebrate this season so I decided to make a birthday card instead with something sitting in my stash. I had just finished cutting out the images and the present and tea cup I thought would be the perfect pairing for the images on the sketch.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my card design this week using the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will come and join in on the fun of creating with sketches.

Until my next post,

Vintage Birthday Bike

Hello everyone.
I loved the sketch from Try Stampin’ on Tuesday so much that while I had the supplies out I made a 2nd card. With this interesting weather around at the moment what else can I do but stay in my craft space and well craft! Crafting also gives me the opportunity to forget about my body hating this weather and giving me so many problems.

But anyway onto the first card creation. First of all here is the sketch …

The creation of this card started with the sketch but was led by this image from an old paper pad that was sitting on my desk. So I haven’t stayed 100% true to the sketch, but all the elements are there. This is one thing that I love about sketches – you can still have all the elements of the sketch but you can make them suit your supplies.

Both the bike and little dots in the background are foiled in black – which is really hard to photograph. The circle dies and the sentiment strip are both from Paper Rose Studios. The sentiment strip is from Black and White A5 Sentiment Sheets and the circle dies are actually the holly from the Stitched Holly Die Set.

Thanks for stopping on by and looking at my card design using Sketch #578 from TSOT. I love hearing what you thought about my creation so please consider leaving a comment or even a like on my post.

Until my next post,

AHSC no.493

Hello everyone.
Today I am sharing with you my card make using the latest sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

This is an unusual card for me because I haven’t used any patterned paper this time. My background this time was made using Distress Inks and a background stamp from Darkroom Door.

I wanted my background paper to closely match my leaves which I stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink and then coloured with Distress Inks. And used some detail scissors to cut each of them out. My choice of inks was Fired Brick and Mowed Lawn. The background used those 2 colours but I included Rusty Hinge and I used this colour also for the stamping.

From my stash of Washi Tapes I found this wide gold glitter tape and I stamped a sentiment from Kasiercraft’s Birthday Wishes stamp set. This was cut out with a circle die that has a stitch detail around the edge.

Thanks for stopping on by and looking at my card design for sketch #493 from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will come and create along with us and share your makes over on the blog.

Until my next post,

Celebrate You

Hello everyone.
Today I am sharing with you the card I made using the current challenge from Tic Tac Toe. These challenges are always really fun to create with as they combine 3 different elements.

For my choice I went down the left-hand side of the panel – Stencil, Splatters, and Foliage. The stencil and foliage part of the design came as one element thanks to the Leaves Stencil from Paper Rose Studio and 2 Distress Inks – Peeled Paint and Crushed Olive. I used Wilted Violet Distress Ink on the edge of a clear block with water and a brush for the splatters.

The brushed gold circles are from a Stitched Holly Die set from Paper Rose Studio. I don’t use the holly leaves much but these berry ones do get a workout. The celebrate word die comes with both the word and the layering die as well – the word is cut from black cardstock which I put adhesive on before cutting to make layering easier later. I used a pale purple cardstock for this but my camera didn’t pick it up well. The sentiment strip came from the Black & White Sentiment Sheets from Paper Rose Studio. These are wonderful to pair with the many sentiment dies. Once everything was placed onto the card front this was layered onto a panel of the same pale purple cardstock as the die.

I had a lot of fun finding out how to put these elements together and I hope that you like how it finally came together. I will be entering this card into 2 challenges. Tic Tac Toe no.180 and Paper Rose Studio Monthly Challenge for Creatives.

Until my next post,

Birthday Cupcake

Hello everyone. I was able to get into my craft room and make some cards. It was nice being able to craft again after being unable to do so due to health restrictions and time. To help my creating go a little smoother I decided to see what sketches were available on a fav sketch site. Try Stampin’ on Tuesday didn’t disappoint.

I decided to go with just the sketch this time around.

I like how this card turned out but I am wondering about the black circle now … hmmm? I think that my mind was still in the warmer tones of my previous paper pad. I really like this sketch and I will be using it again for inspiration for future makes.

With this card, I was able to use some new to me products that have been sitting on my shelf from Paper Rose Studios. I was able to use the Cupcake Metal Cutting Die and a patterned paper from a cardmaking kit called Sally’s Quilt. The kit has been sitting for quite a while but I thought I would try making something with it because of the softer colours of the patterned paper. These kits are great value for money, and since using some of the kit I will continue with them once I finish another project that is coming due.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design using the TSOT sketch. I hope that you have a fabulous day no matter what you find yourself doing.

Until my next post,

A Finished Paper Pad

Hello everyone. You may be asking yourself why am I writing a post about this? I mean sure I have done this before … right? Well, the answer to that question is – yes I have. But I have come across another wonderful sketch that will help me use up those last pieces of a patterned paper pad.

Try Stampin (Or Not) on Tuesday

For my card unfortunately I wasn’t able to follow both sides of the challenge as you will see from the papers that were in this patterned paper pad. But this sketch allows me to use up those pieces of paper that are cut off to make a background panel. The smaller rectangles can be the opposite sides of the 2 longer pieces if they work really well together – which they usually do.

I decided to add a sentiment to one of the smaller boxes and also I used one of the foliage dies from Paper Rose Studio just to help give the card a little more dimension. So this finished off a patterned paper pad that I have been working through for a little while now. I will definitely be keeping this sketch in my box for future use.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card creation using the sketch from Try Stampin On Tuesday. I hope that you will get to do something creative today.

Try Stampin no.560

Hello everyone. I was able to make some more cards and I loved the sketch over at Try Stampin (or not) On Tuesday that I followed the design.

I did follow this sketch almost fully. I did only add 3 circles as I like things in odd numbers as I think it is more pleasing and I also happen to have these 3 circles die cuts sitting on my desk. These are some of the last papers from the patterned paper pad I have been working through. This sketch was the perfect way to finish off some of the strips I had left after cutting card backgrounds. I think that I will keep this sketch in my box for use at both the beginning and end of a paper pad.

Because I was at the end of the patterned paper I used some chocolate brown shimmer lightweight cardstock for the background. I matted the background and flag with black lightweight cardstock and added Love From Lizi Pinstripe Stickers in black along the edge of the larger piece of patterned paper just to help give it some dimension.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card made using the sketch from TSOT. I hope that you will find yourself doing something creative.

Until my next post,

Birthday Double Challenge

Hello everyone. It was so lovely to get into my craft space, create some cards, and use up some papers that have been sitting on my desk for the longest time.

To make things go a little smoother I decided to look at what challenges were around that might work with the pieces that I had. Well, I found that Double Trouble and Try Stampin’ On Tuesday were teaming up this week. I usually enter both of these challenges when I am able so I was pleased to see this team-up.

I love using sketches so this was a great one to work with and then extra challenges with the Double Trouble I was able to comply with as well.

The paper that I had sitting on my desk was the nailed board, this was the only piece of this paper that I had left. So I decided that I needed to make a background paper so I used a leaf stencil and 2 Distress Inks – Fired Brick and Gathered Twigs – with stencil brushes.

The other products that I used were from Paper Rose Studios the happy birthday sentiment from the Black and White Sentiment Pack and the image which is called On The Road. I stamped this image on Kraft light-weight cardstock in Rich Cocca Memento Ink. I add a strip of gold light-weight cardstock, a black Pin-Stripe Sticker by Love From Lizi and Black Nuvo Drops to finish off the card.

Thanks for looking in at my card design using the 2 challenges from Double Trouble & Try Stampin’ On Tuesday. I hope that you have a wonderful day no matter what you find yourself doing.

Until my next post,

Birthday Greeting

Hello everyone. This afternoon I have had the opportunity to get into my craft room to do both some crafting and some computer work as well. First onto my card creation and it started with a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Tuesday Morning Sketch #641

I didn’t 100% follow the sketch but the reason for this is that I wanted to make a card with the 2nd half of my image that I used on my “Thinking of You” card that I shared last week. Plus also the paper pad that I had on my desk worked with the colours that I had used in the image. I had coloured this image in with my Copic Markers before cutting the first part of the image. This sketch suited the piece that I had leftover. To give a little definition to the image I used some Love From Lizi Gold Glitter Pin Stripe Peel Offs. And some Gold Star Stickers from my stash; not sure who made these.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card made with the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. Before you depart I want to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.
