Fly Free

Hello Everyone
Today I am sharing with you a more simple card for me. Not too many layers but a lot of stamping which was a whole heap of fun.

I have had some major stuff going on in my life; I was diagnosed with lung cancer in December 2016 and then on the 3rd of February, 2017 I lost this beautiful person
6g
my Mum.
She lost her long battle with Parkinson’s Disease after fighting this horrible and life sapping disease for 9 years. And as you could have imagined I felt like not crafting.

After some months I have been crafting a little but what I would accomplish either got thrown in the bin or I would undo hours of work because I just didn’t like what I was crafting – which didn’t help the MOJO any.

But this afternoon I felt like doing something creative so I went online to find a couple of challenges I could follow. I find when I am just coming back into crafting following a challenge helps me to accomplish some stuff.  I ended up creating this card
feb2017
I am pleased with the results and I hope my friend likes it for her birthday.

So the challenges I am entering this card into are
The Color Throwdown Challenge #431 – Mint Green, Green, Plum and Light Brown
and
Case this Sketch #210

If I can just ask something of all of you – and that is – make time for those who mean something to you.  You don’t know what tomorrow shall bring. Treasure each moment because it could be the last one you get.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look at my project today. I hope that you find yourself doing something that you really love soon.

Until my next project

A Gnome Knows

Hello again,

Yes don’t fall of your chair I’m back with my 2nd card of the day.  I had a really productive day which I am feeling very grateful for.

MiC Gnome mayI am really pleased with how this has turned out. I took a while trying to decided which background I was going to put behind the cute picture of Gnomey Peter by Make it Crafty.  I have been wanting to use this image for ages and then the Clean and Simple challenge of “Using a background” over on the Make it Crafty Inspiration Blog gave me the push.

The background is another digi stamp from Make it Crafty as well and is “Whimsical Flowers”. I cropped the original image and I coloured it in with Colouring Pencils.  Gnomey Peter was coloured in with my Copic markers and I’m pleased with both images.

MiC Gnome close upBut upon doing this have decided that I am going to have to save up for some better colouring pencils 🙂 I am also thankful that I have a Brother Scan’N’Cut to help me to cut out both images and make the wavy element on the card.  Here is a look at the inside of my card as well.

Happy Birthday Panda

Hello Everyone,
Today I am presenting a Birthday card which the design was inspired by something I saw on the lovely but time-waster site that we all -if we are honest – visit daily – Pinterest. And here is a link to the card that inspired me – Hexagon Football Card.

Here is my card using the inspiration.

Panda NerdNow the person that I was making this card for isn’t exactly into football but there is a paper pack Sears and Sons from Kasiercraft that I have been dying to use.  So I decided to use 3 of the papers from this pack and cut multiple hexagons from each piece using my Spellbinder Hexagon die and my Cuttlebug. I then played around with all the pieces but I decided that it need a little something else.  So I decided to put some gold with it so I cut some Hexagons out of some gold paper from my stash.

I wanted to use an image that would suit the recipient of the card – now I am not saying that this person is a Panda or a Nerd – but he does wear glasses and he loves to read books.  So I took the image of Panda Nerd from Some Odd Girl, coloured him in with my Copics and layered him up on pop dots over an image that I found on my computer of a stack of books.

This card now suits the recipient and I am happy with how it turned out. So I just want to say thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and looking at my creations.  And to let me know that you stopped on by today and what you thought of my creation, why not leave me a comment below.  I love to hear what people think of my creations – feedback is how I improve my craft.

Hugs & Blessings Always

Isn’t She Lovely!

Hello Everyone,
I told you I would be back again with a second card that I had made .
This one I am exceptionally proud of my colouring. Mind you while I was in the middle of doing it I didn’t think it would turn out as it has.
Lovely Card June 13As my title says – Isn’t She Lovely! – well actually that is the name of this Digi Stamp from Saturated Canary.  I had a lot of fun colouring Lovely in with my Copics.  This was the first time for me attempting an image with so many folds.  I am happy with the depth of colour that I got on Lovely.  I used these colours for her dress because I just love love love Purple 🙄 but I then used some pink tone Copics for the pointillism around her that blended nicely with the paper pack Ooh La La For Her by My Mind’s Eye.

After I cut out the papers I scrapped the edges with Memento Ink – Potters Clay.  I then searched through my stash for some purple ribbon & purple paper to make the flowers. Once I had punched out the purple flowers I added V15 to them to give them a little more depth.  I  also used 2 stamps from the AmyR Birthday Sentiments Stamp Set and once all of this was dry I used some Purple Stickles on Lovely’s dress just for a little more bling .

Here is a close up of Lovely and the Copics that I used –

Relaxin Mae

Hello Everyone,
I am back.  Oh boy what a month.
The beginning started off wonderfully. But then things conspired against me…let me outline things.

  1. My camera decided it wasn’t going to take good pictures again (grrrrrr)
  2. Where I was crafting became too hot to be in … so had to find a new place
  3. Ended up hurting my arm so wasn’t able to do much including moving my craft area

Now for the light at the end of the tunnel

  • My arm got better – YEAH
  • Have moved my craft area – back into the lounge area – Thanks Hubby for the help :*
  • Unfortunately still having issues with my camera 😦 will need to look at that more closely

But Anyhow back to the main reason for my post:
I made a card – YEAH!!! and here it is:
Relaxin MaeSorry not my best photo :(But I am really happy with how the card turned out. Especially my colouring of the Cuppa Mae image from Some Odd Girl. I think my colouring of images has improved a lot.  This is due to watching the Colour Alongs both the Ustream Videos but also the live Colour Alongs which us in OZ can watch live @ 11am (AEST) on alternate Thursdays… Thanks for doing this time change Kristy.

I actually made this a couple of weeks ago during the Some Odd Girl 3rd Birthday Celebrations for the Shopping Challenge they had on their new Community Page. During this challenge I said I would take : Purple (easy my fav colour), Markers (Copics of course) and Label Sticker.  This is what I came up with.  I also decided to follow the Sketch Challenge @ Some Odd Girl as well.  I printed both Mae, which I coloured with my Copics & the Fireplace coloured image on my printer then added these to some papers from my stash which I thought suited my coloured Mae image.  This was all then added to a Mocha Brown card base.

If you are a Some Odd Girl Lover and you haven’t stopped by the Community you should …. its a must.  But also if you haven’t discovered Some Odd Girl yet I would urge you to go take a look….but I warn you now Kristy images are totally addictive but so worth it 😉

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and looking at my creations.  To let me know that you stopped on by today why not leave me a comment below.  I love to hear what people think of my creations – feedback is how I improve my craft.  And finally my prayer for you is that you find yourself doing something you love.

Just For You

Here’s the 3rd Card I’ve made this week.

Finding time to craft has been great but sometimes hot.
Where I have moved my craft area too can at times be very hot..
..especially in our Queensland (Aust.) humid weather 😦
So I think I am going to have to have a look at how I can cool the area down a bit.
But I will keep on making cards even if I have to change when I do it 🙂

Anyway onto the newest project I’ve made
Just For YouMy card this time is made with a Digi image from Some Odd Girl and it’s “Summery Mae“.  I have put her onto a lake scene which I thought suited her.  For the placement of everything on the front of my card I have used the sketch from the Some Odd Girl Challenge Blog.  But I have flipped the sketch horizontally.  I have coloured in Mae with my Copics and then cut her out with my Circle Spellbinder Nestabilities. Then I have also matted the image with red.  All of this has been put onto a card base of black and then some “Tea with Eloise” papers by KaiserCraft have been used.  I stamped a Just for You image and topped the outside off with a Felt flower with a button.
Just For You inside

On the inside I have used some of the leftover paper from making the front of the card and stuck my printed sentiment into the middle.  I am really happy with how this card has turned out.  I am not 100% happy with my colouring but I think that I am improving.  That is one thing that I am hoping to improve on during this year.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and looking at my creations.  To let me know that you stopped on by today why not leave me a comment below.  I love to hear what people think of my creations – feedback is how I improve my craft.  And finally my prayer for you is that you find yourself doing something you love.
