Celebrate 3 Times

Hello Everyone,
Here I am with the 3rd card from this set. I had so much fun using one of my colouring in pages that I am definitely going to do this again in the future. And just to remind you again here is the photo of the 3 cards together

03 17 Colour Time Dream 1

This 3rd card uses the last piece of the page which was along the bottom of the page It also suited to used in a portrait orientation for this card and this is the card up close

I decided to sink the colouring in section to the base of the card and have mounted the green side panels on foam to give it a little dimension. Then came the problem of adding the sentiment; I didn’t want to add a solid shape because I didn’t want to cover up my colouring so I used some clear acetate and added this across the 2 panels and added silver holographic circle stickers around the sentiment to hold it onto the card and around the card to tie it all in.

I decided to add this one to the Cute Card Thursday Challenge of celebrating as well

Celebrate Again

Hello Everyone,
I am back again to share my 2nd card from my 3 card colouring in page set which I started to blog about in my previous blog post. Here is the picture of the set of cards together

03 17 Colour Time Dream 1

This time I am using the right side of the page to make this card and this is the card

The backing paper I decided to make myself because I couldn’t find anything that I liked. So I found some grey paper and edged it with some Distress Inks just to give it a bit more interest to it. Then I used my Darkroom Door Stamp ‘Torn Text’ stamp but something went wrong with the stamping but I still liked it because it looked like aged. And I made this card for the Time Out Challenge

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. I appreciate all of the likes and comments that my blog posts get. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Motorbike Wishes

Hello Everyone,
Another birthday card made and this time I went with a male themed card. I made this specifically for someone in my family who loves bikes and has just gotten himself a new ride. So I thought he would like this card

03 17 Motorbike

The motorbike and track stamps are from a Creative Stamping Magazine issue from quite a while ago but I love using it for both Male and Female themed cards. It all just has to do with which papers you use together.

This card was inspired though by the Time Out Challenge celebrating their 5th Birthday! So we are asked to help them celebrate with this challenge

The paper pad that I used for this card comes from Authentique Papers. This paper pack is from an older collection called ‘Free Bird’. I also have the 2nd paper pack from this collection and I have to admit to hoarding these – I love the designs in both of these packs. But I wanted something that was a little different for this card and these papers were the perfect thing. The 3 stripes are made out of some ribbon sticky tape and to grunge up the paper a little I used my Black Soot Distress Ink around the edge of both the main and image panels.

Time Flies

Hello Everyone,
Yes another card made today. It’s good to have some spare time because you get to do some stuff that you love doing. Mind you I am hiding out from a project that I should be working on but you won’t tell anyone will you?

Onto my 2nd card for today. This time is a stamp that has been in my stash for a while because it came attached to the Creative Stamping Magazine Issue #41. And this issue plus the stamps happened to be sitting on my desk so I thought why not use it to make a card for the sketch from the crew over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

and this is the sketch that I was working with

TMS 490

The main thing that you can see that is different about my card and the sketch is the fact that I didn’t use the postage stamp shape this is because I don’t have a die with shape. But I thought that I would use a die that I haven’t used in ages. This die is  Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 2 the matting I made by cutting around the outside of the die I used for the image layer. The die above this one in the pack was just too large to be used. The papers that I have used are from the same one paper pack that I used in my previous card; they were still sitting on my desk after I completed the last card so I thought why not use what was already out. The paper lace is from my stash this is something else that hasn’t seen the light of day for quite a while.

Maybe I should have called this project – Visiting the Past! Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. Please consider leaving a comment or hitting the like button before you go. But before you do go I would like to leave you with this thought

Yes I love looking on Pinterest. It is how I find inspiration but also if I am stuck on an idea I can usually find what I want on here. So yes I do a lot of research on here.

Birthday Wishes

Hello Everyone,
I have been away for a little while but now that my space is updated and I can work there again I want to get back into entering challenges. So to test out my new area I went to one of my favourite challenges and went about making a card and this is the outcome.
This card started with me finding this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches
I loved making this card on my new table! I was using my Cuttlebug and also hand punches and my stamping tool and I didn’t feel cramped for space after making each of the elements. I am really going to love creating in my new space … thanks Hubby!
The papers for the card came from a really old My Minds Eye paper pack which has been sitting in my stash with just some pieces left. This year I am trying to use up the stash that I have before adding majorly to it. The maroon layers are staples in my stash and always topped up. But the flower and swirl elements are all from a drawer where I keep solids that are cut off from other projects but are too small to be used for a main element on a card.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. I am happy to be back crafting and blogging again. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought
This is so true! I experienced the other side of this a little while my Hubby and I were updating my space. I wasn’t able to be as crafty as I usually am and I did feel a little out of sorts because of it. I am so happy to have my space back.

For John

Hello Everyone,
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I had some time with extended family which was good. But I was feeling a little lost not crafting so I got back into my craft space. For awhile I was lost and not knowing what to do as I didn’t really feel like making more Christmas cards even though I know I must. Then I remembered that I needed some Birthday cards for my January bunch. So I made one for Dee’s Son John.

This card came about because of a sketch and this sketch came from Tuesday Morning Sketches #468

Metric measurements for the front of an A6 card

Once I had cut out the Luka with Truck image (discontinued) from LaLa Land Crafts with my oval die I decided that I wanted to make the background a little less plain so I decided that I would try a technique that I had seen its name is Pointillism. It has been around as an art form for many years and I thought that it would add some interest to this card … I think it did.

I didn’t follow the sketch exactly because I realised that I hadn’t left myself any space for the sentiment so I enlarged the tag on the sketch to fit it. I used some Alphabet stickers that have been sitting in the bottom of my sticker box for ages and a embossed birthday sticker as well.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Oh this is so true because I love revisiting places but sometimes its with different people. And those times the place that I have gone to has looked so different just because of who I was with. Or it can be with the same people and just how I was feeling while there changes how I now think of where I have been.

Birthday Squared

Hello everyone. You may be asking why I named my post Birthday Squared. Well I am not one for making using squared shaped cards. I usually stick with the regular rectangle shape because it doesn’t produce any waste and you can get two cards from a A4 sheet of card stock. Where as with a square shaped card you can only get one decent sized card from a sheet but you have leftovers.  I mean I won’t waste this of course because it will be used for a sentiment later but you know I’m sure …

… anywho onto the reason you stopped by my blog today to see my creation

I was quite lucky with this card that I was able to jump into my leftovers drawer and find everything that I needed to make this card. The newest product used on this card is actually the Happy Birthday die which I actually cut apart to use on this card.

But this whole square card making started because of the sketch over at Sketch Saturday

Isn’t this a great sketch. I usually stretch these kinds of sketches to suit an A6 sized card but I decided to try and design within the square. Before cutting the birthday die as its so large I backed the paper with some double sided paper to make the sticking to the project easier. As I wanted to try and not take up the whole front with this die; I sacrificed some of the flowers from the die to make it fit as I have.  And the double sided paper really saved me after I decided to cut the original die-cut apart. Piecing it together after its surgery was easier because I didn’t have to put wet glue onto some really small pieces.

I think that this card could actually suit anyone and I may end up making more square cards in the future but that is to be seen. Thanks for stopping by my blog today. To let me know that you have stopped by consider liking my post and even commenting to let me know what you think of it. And as always before you leave I would like to leave you with this final thought

Love Star Trek and like decorating for Christmas but so glad that I don’t have anyone who is particular how they are placed.
