Today the card that I am sharing is actually part of a 5 card set that I made. I decided to have some fun and just create some backgrounds and cards using the same set of materials. For this card I used a card sketch from Sketch Saturday #532 by Jessie – this is what it looks like
The products that I used for the card was a paper pack from my stash, the background which I created with a simple pan of watercolours, some watercolour paper cut to 10cm X 14.4cm and the My Favourite Things Sketched Blooms Stamp Set plus their Black Hybrid Ink. To cut out the square element I used my Stitched Square Dies from Uniquely Creative. The rest of the elements where cut using my paper trimmer. The black brads are from my stash.
I sometimes like making simple styled cards because I find I have to stop myself from adding more and more elements. I think that this sketch may become a favourite of mine.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. As always before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought
In every project that I make there is a little imperfection. It is the quirk of handmade of which I love. I love seeing the artist in their work. Nothing in this world is true and perfect unless it is made by God. I am the perfect me because God made me. I am never perfect except in the eyes of God and I am very OK with that.
Have a Happy Crafty Handmade Kind of Day,
I told you that I would be back with a 2nd post and here it is. Yes it’s a Christmas card and no I don’t think that it’s too early to make them. I give some of my cards away to a charity and they need them by early September so those have already gone and now I’m making the ones I need to send myself. It’s scary how close posting date is for these but anywho onto the reason for your visit my card! And here is a reminder of the sketch by CASe this Sketch #290 by Chrissy
I used a Kasiercraft paper pad from my Christmas stash and some add-ons that I had bought when they were available. With this sketch is time I brought the strips closer together and I also flipped the sketch. This just worked better with the Merry Christmas banners.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. And as always I would like to leave you with this last thought:
There are many things on this list that I would like to do actually. Doing some of these things I think would actually help me feel better after everything that has been going on in my world lately.
Have a Happy Crafty Sea Lion Kind of Day,
UPDATE 5th October – I received this
I have been a little quite lately due to stuff going on in my world but I was able to get back into my craft space and I got to use some new products. To make my card crafting go a little smoother I started with a sketch to help me get into my new 6X6 paper pad. And here is the sketch from CASe this Sketch #290 by Chrissy
I had so much fun playing with this sketch that I actually made two cards using it. I will share my 2nd creation in another post. This time around though I used a new paper pad from Kasiercraft called Stargazer.
I loved the blues of this set and I thought it had some different papers in it. I used black card stock for the matting. The sentiment is actually included in the pack. Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking a look at my creation. And before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought:
I have had to tell myself this a lot lately. It really isn’t my fault for a lot of what is going on but then I forget this and the stuff I can control gets out of control. So this is a shout out to everyone who fights each day for the health that they do have. This is one thing that I don’t take for granted anymore and you shouldn’t either. Life can change before your very eyes.
Have a Happy Crafty “You Can Do It” Kind of Day,
Yes I am back again and yes I have used the same sketch to make 2 Christmas cards this time around. Here is sketch #530 by Sketch Saturday – this is a new favourite! I will definitely be keeping this one in my go to pile.
This time around the making was a lot easier – the papers on the bottom are actually flipped on the 2nd card! How cool is that! All I had to do was cut each piece 4 times to make 2 cards. The banners across the join of papers is actually from the paper pack and so are the 2 cute little images that I layered and put in the left corner.
Here is a picture of each individual card:
It is so good to be getting Christmas cards done now and not in a mad rush at the end of the year. But with also donating cards I have to keep my making up so whenever I find a sketch that can repeated easily I take the opportunity to make multiples.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and looking at my post. But before you go I would love to leave you with this last thought:
Don’t want to worry any crafters out there but as of 10th September we have only 104 days until Christmas Eve 2018!! Oh my goodness – I just shocked myself writing this! I have much to do! Until next time …
Have a Happy Crafty Shocking Kind of Day,
Here is the 2nd card that I made while making my Baby Girl card. I just thought why waste these perfectly cut strips when I have all the supplies out in from of me. Here is a reminder of the sketch #530 from Sketch Saturday:
As I said in my previous post it was good to be getting into my stash and using up some papers that have been in there for many years. And it is also good that my collection of cards to be sending off to our Aussie Troops is growing.
All 3 of the papers used were the off cuts from my previous card. The only thing that I needed to add was the silver Happy Birthday and the stars. This time around though I used my Pinstripe Embossing folder to make the banner across the join and used my Crushed Violet Distress ink to give it a bit of definition.
It was so much fun making a 2nd card with the same supplies but coming up with a card that is different. I am going to have to look at doing this more often so that my card stash grows quicker. Thanks for stopping by my blog today and looking at my project. But before you leave I would like to leave you with this final thought:
Not a lot can be said about this one – it’s a part of my life but I try to make it not all of my life. Some days are harder than others – I am learning to live with my limitations.
Have a Happy Crafty Little Pain Kind of Day,
I am sharing with you a card made by using a sketch and some of my stash. Here is a picture of the sketch #530 by Kel from Sketch Saturday:
This paper pack has been sitting in my 6X6 paper pad storage for ages. I love the designs but I wasn’t in love with using the full pages any more. And then this sketch from Sketch Saturday came in and I knew that this paper set would go well.
The bits of paper that were in the pack were the correct size or close to to pull off this design. Some of the pieces were big enough that I had enough to make a 2nd card which I will share in another post. 🙂 It is a simpler card but sometimes it is fun to make something a little simpler.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my post today. But before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought:
I have to be creative. It is how I unwind, how I connect with the past and how I connect with friends who understand this need as well.
Have a Happy Crafty Creative Kind of Day,
When I started making this card I was initially trying to make a purely masculine card but now that I look at it I think that it could be suited for either. To make this card I followed along with the 2 challenges that I followed for the last card. Here are the details again for Color Throwdown #509 and CASe this Sketch #288 by Donna
This time around I looked through my 6X6 paper packs and found a Kasiercraft pack that had Red, Orange and Blue through it. And it also had some extra elements in the back of it including this scalloped circle that I used for the sentiment.
For the sketch I changed up the size of the rectangle elements to suit the size of the circle element. I actually like both cards I made using this sketch because the elements suit each other.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. But before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought:
“LIGHT-BULB MOMENT” oh I just saw this and it was a YES why hadn’t I considered this before. Somethings are hard to let go so now I am going to just let it be! This may be the break through that I have been needing.
Have a Happy Crafty Let It Be Kind of Day, ❤ Tracy
