52CCT September 2021 Colour

Hello everyone. It is week 2 of September and over on the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge we have a colour challenge happening at the moment.

We ask that you stick to these main colours but you may add accents of grey, black, white and a little brown.

To make my card I first made a card base in Cricut Design Space welding together a Star and a card base with a thick border to be able to hide my adhesive. To make the background to this card top I used Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Faded Jeans Distress Inks with Shine On Stars Stencil by Echo Park. To fill in the background I stenciled in 1 of the colours and then shifted the stencil and just repeated this process 3 times.

Once I had placed the card top onto the background I used the leftover Faded Jeans around the middle of the star just to add a little more colour. I cut a sentiment from the Crisp Christmas Sentiment Sheets using a Stitched Rectangle Die and both of these are from Paper Rose Studios. To finish off the card I add some dark blue holographic circles which have been in my stash for years.

52CCT August 2021 Sketch

Hello everyone, here we are in August already. With it being a new month it means over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge we have a new host for the month. Our hostess this month is Jenny. And also with it being the first week in the month it is sketch time. And this is the sketch that Jenny has given us to create with.

What a great sketch. The circles on the sketch are just a holding place for whatever you may want to put their. So have fun with it.

You can see that I decided to stick with the circles for my creation. I had this double sided paper sitting in my Christmas stash just waiting for a sketch to use it. So I got to feature both sides of this paper on my card. The piece wasn’t quite my usual card base size so to help with the matting I double matted with both maroon and brown card stock. My Gemini junior helped me in cutting out the circles and their mats with my Spellbinders large and small set of dies. The sentiment is from Paper Rose Studios’ Crisp Christmas Sentiment Sheets. I added some gold holographic circle stickers from Love From Lizi to finish off the card.

June Technique and Stash for 52CCT

Hello everyone, I am here with a quick post for the last challenge for June and this time around it is a combination challenge. And that Challenge is

Becci wants us all to do the Technique of Clusters (min. of 3) and see through our Stash for the Embellishments to use. This one threw me for quite a while but this this the card that I came up with.

Oh my – trying to photograph this card – argh why do I do these things to myself? But anywho – I clustered together 2 different embellishments together – the arrows were from the paper pad already pre-made (but I could have made my own if needed 😀 ) and then my golden stars which have been hanging out in my stash forever and a day.
