AHSC no.463

Hello Everyone. I hope that everyone is safe and well. As I am writing this South-East Queensland, Australia is going through terrible flooding again and my family is in quarantine. We all come out on different days as we tested positive on different days. I am spending the time both trying to deal with everything that goes along with this as well as my usual health issues. I’m keeping an eye on my symptoms and if they get worse then we will call medical assistance. As of when I was writing this my symptoms are mild just very annoying.

When I am able I am spending time in my craft space which is a good and bad thing because I have noticed so many things that still need to be fixed after my move in here just under 12 months ago. But anyway onto the card make for today. This one is for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge; I love Michelle’s sketches as placement of elements have already been taken care of for us.

The circle paper I actually made using 3 Distress Inks – Crushed Olive, Shaded Lilac, and Evergreen Bough with a stencil from Scrapmatts and a blending brush from Paper Rose Studios. I wanted to try out a new colour combo so I thought creating a background would be a way to have some fun and have something I could use on a card project. The dies and the sentiment are also from Paper Rose Studios, I used some of the Shaded Lilac and Crushed Olive on the die cuts just to make them more distinctive. In my plain paper stash, I went looking for some colours that would go well with my ink choice and I am satisfied with my choices.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project using the sketch from AHSC #463. I hope that you will come and create along with us and share your makes over at our challenge blog. Before you leave my blog though I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

Just For You

Hello Everyone.
I am making cards for a charity and they have asked for some general cards so I have been using more general sentiments. This card was made by combining 2 challenges.

For my card making, I went with Dry Emboss/Scoring & Friendship Sentiment & Animal(s).

I scored some of the ombre paper from the paper pad that I am working through at the moment with a scoring tool and a ruler. Unfortunately, my ruler slipped but I still used the piece as this was the last piece of this paper. The sentiment arrow is one that was included in the paper pad. I found this cute little butterfly sticker in my stash and it was a great size for the circle element. I added some gold circle holographic stickers to finish off the design.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design that combined two challenges together. Before you leave my blog I would love to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

Sending Hugs

Hello everyone. Today I am sharing with you a card that I made to just bring some joy to a resident in a residential facility. I have been sending cards to this place on and off for a little while now with a friend who works there. She tells me that these cards do bring some joy and smiles which is what I hope that my crafting does for those that receive something that I have created.

Anyway onto the card design; this card started with a sketch from Try Stampin’ or Not on Tuesday. This is sketch no. 538.

This is definitely one of my cleaner designs but these papers were so wonderful that I didn’t really want to do much to them. There is some gold embossing on some of the papers which I really love but it was this marbled paper that caught my eye as I was going through the paper pad. The sentiment is from an older set and I came across it as I was looking for sentiments to use on cards that are just uplifting. Everything was matted with some royal blue layering weight paper which helped to set everything apart. The only extra thing to the sketch that I added was the 3 Shimmering Rose Nuvo Crystal Drops in the top left corner.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design for TSOT #538. I hope that you like what I have done with the sketch design. Before I go I want to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

AHSC #455

Hello Everyone. How has the beginning of your year gone? Mine has been good. I have had some opportunities to create in my craft space which has been nice and I am involved with my design team makes. This time around I have made a card using a sketch by Michelle from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

I found these 2 different papers on my desk which were part of the same paper pad at first I didn’t think that they were going to work together. The thing that I think helped to pair them together was the mat behind the circle element. What do you think – do you think that they worked together?

This is a very short post as I am off on a trip with my family but I wanted to share my make with you using the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will create along with us and share your makes with us over on the challenge blog.

Until my next post,

AHSC #449

Hello everyone. Here we are at the end of November – it feels weird actually. I feel like it has been a long year but in other ways quite short. Do you ever feel like that? But anyway onto the card make for today. This is a card for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and it is sketch #449.

First came the papers that I used then came the photo; they just worked well together. My husband is a photographer and he takes my duck plush, Plucka, on adventures. 🙂 And this is a photo taken at Kholo Gardens in Ipswich, Queensland. I decided to print a strawberry to use in place of the bow. And I double matted the main panel as I found that the polka dot paper was a little smaller than what I usually use. This gave me the opportunity to bring in some paper that coordinated with the grasses and Plucka.

This card will go off to the residents at the aged care home. I thought that using a photo could become a nice talking point for both residents and their carers to talk about. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card design using sketch #449 from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will come and create along with us and show us your creations on the blog.

Until my next post,

Incredible Person

Hello everyone. Today I am sharing an encouragement card that I made with the assistance of 2 challenges. I had a lot of fun creating this card because I have been trying out a new-to-me Pink ATG. It has been a learning curve I must say but not having to stop and cut pieces of tape is making my crafting so much more enjoyable.

The 2 challenges that I am sharing this card make too are Sketch Saturday #676 and Just Add Ink – Just add lines.

The butterfly circle was something that I just tried making with a new sandwich combo in my Gemini Jnr so I ran it through again this time with a circle die and added some Faded Jeans Distress Ink to bring out the details. Then I cut the green spot paper and the layering cardstock with circle dies as well. While I was using my Jnr I also used a bow die as I and twine aren’t getting along at the moment; I also added some Faded Jeans to this as well. The holographic circles I placed without the sketch in front of me. For the just add lines challenge – I didn’t add the lines myself but both of the papers that I chose had lines. Lines of dots in the circle and uneven lines on the background paper.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design for both the Sketch Saturday and Just Add Ink Challenges. I hope that you will find yourself doing something that you love.

Until my next post,

Best Version of Yourself

Hello everyone. Today I am sharing a card that could be used for many different occasions. I like making cards with a multi purpose as I can use them whenever. This one may go to my set going to some residents in an aged card home. I have started my next lot as I gave my last batch and they were well loved.

But anyway onto the card itself which was inspired by 2 challenges.

The colours in Just Add Ink Colour Challenge #570 I don’t have the exact but I hope that I came close and for the sketch challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches #622 you will see a couple of changes.

09 8th Version of Yourself

This card started with the inking of the background. I used the Altenew Dahlia Stencil with Faded Jeans and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks. Once I had made this I wasn’t sure if I liked it and debated doing something different. But then this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches came along and I thought yes this will work. I added a sentiment from the Bohemian Sentiments by Phil Martin love this set.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card inspired by 2 challenges. I hope that you will find yourself doing something that you love today. Actually before you go I want to share a photo that my hubby took and I have added a saying that I love to it.

Until my next post,

Atlantic Hearts Sketch no.437

Hello everyone. I am here to show you the card that I made using the latest sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #437.

AHSC 437

This card was a lot of fun to create. The background paper is actually one that I printed with the sentiment so that I didn’t have to worry about finding the right sentiment for this little character. The flying alien is from Pollycraft but this image is no longer available; I still use it though because he still gives me delight.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my design team make for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will come and create with us using Michelle’s latest sketch.

Until my next post,

Something for You

Hello everyone. Here I am showcasing a card that is part of the set that is going to the residents at the aged care home. I am slowly getting the amount of cards I need together. In the future I definately need to make these more often than trying to do a big batch at once; I was finding that I was getting into a slump so I went to my go to when my mojo needs a pick me up – a sketch.

This time it is a new one to me and now you as this was given by Michelle from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and it is sketch #435

A fabulous sketch to be playing with I am sure that you will agree. And this is what I was able to make with it.

If you saw my last post you will see that this card is using up the same paper pad that is sitting on my desk. I only had 1 full sheet of paper left so I had to use some cardstock to make up all of the layers and to also break up the other papers I used. The sentiment I printed up on my computer because I couldn’t find anything that I was 100% happy with. I think that I am going to have to go in search of 1 maybe 2 new stamp sets to have sentiments suitable for my style of cards or continue printing them up on my computer.

If anyone reading this knows of a really good stamp set that has general sentiments I would love for you to leave the details in the comments below.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design I hope that you will stop on by the other designers and see how they used Michelle’s design. And why not create along with this sketch and come and share your creation with us over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

Happy Everything

Hello everyone. I loved the sketch from Sketch Saturday so much that I decided to make another card using that sketch. This card though also includes a 2nd challenge from Shopping Our Stash and their challenge is Wood You Believe? They want to see wood inspired elements on our cards.

08 19th SOS452

The wooden elements on my card are the angled panel and also the pot. The pot was inspired by a wood turned pot that my Dad made many years ago. I hope that you like my take on the sketch from Sketch Saturday.

The pot and the foliage are both dies from Paper Rose Studio and are also new additions to my stash. I love them paired together and they will definitely be coming out again. The wood grain stamp is also a new addition to my stash and I bought this the last time I was shopping at a Kasiercraft Store. I love how this stamp could cover a small panel or it will actually allow me to fill a whole card background as well because of how the image has been made – love this versatility.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design for Sketch Saturday Sketch #673 and Shopping Our Stash Challenge – Would You Believe? challenges. I hope that you will find yourself being able to be creative today.
