All My Love

Hello Everyone,
It is so good to be back in my craft space and creating again. Do you ever get withdrawal symptoms when you stop doing what you usually do for awhile? I got this way over the past couple of weeks. I have been crafting but not really sharing but now I am back into it again.

Anywho onto the reason yo stopped by my creation 🙂

01 04 all my love

This card is digging into my stash in a big way. These papers have been in there since my daughter was little and she is going back to Uni to do her Masters! So you can tell how long these papers have been around.

The card started it’s journey first by finding two challenges from 2 of my favourite places to visit. Time Out Challenge with a theme of Loving and Cute Card Thursday – Anything Goes. But if you have been to my blog before you will know that I love to use sketches to help me figure out placements and I used Freshly Made Sketch  #207

fms 207

As you can see from the sketch to my card they don’t quite match up – this is because of the papers that I had in my stash. I have just flipped the width measurements to make it fit the products that I had. I added the embossed heart which I coloured with some Distress Inks so I had a place for my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. I would love to know that you stopped on by so please consider leaving either a like or a comment. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought

proud of who you are, what you do, difference you make

I think that this is a fabulous way to live. I am going to try to remember this more during the coming year.

Hot Air Balloon Birthday

Hello everyone. The card I am sharing with you today is a type of card that I find hard to make. Male themed birthday cards! I don’t know why these type of cards are hard but they are.  I think I pulled it off with the card that I have made and here it is

The making of this card came about because of the team at Shopping Our Stash Weekly. Their challenge this week is

and then I wanted to design from a sketch and I found this one

The first thing I did was scavenge through my craft supplies to see what I could use and I found an embossing folder with this Hot Air Balloon as part of the scene. I thought it would go well with the masculine theme. Along with the embossing folder the set also came with these boot prints which I used as the 3 elements on the sketch.

After embossing the Hot Air image I coloured it in with my Copics.  Then I found some papers that suited this perfectly. It was a 6X6  paper pad called “Up and Away” by Kasiercraft. On the balloon paper I stamped the words relax & enjoy, it’s your day in Kraft coloured ink. Then I also cut some strips of paper from the paper pack and sponged some Rusty Hinge Distress Ink around the edge. I put some foam tape under the boot prints just to give them a little height. I matted each of the main layers with some Maroon layering paper and put it all together.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project today. Please consider giving my blog a like or even leaving a comment. And as always I would like to leave you with this thought for today

Oh this is so true. I had forgotten this for quite a while. After everything that myself and my family had been through in the past little while … I had forgotten that no matter the size of the progress at least it is progress. And I can see that I am further forward than I was even just a couple of months ago.

Pink, Blue and Green Christmas

Hello everyone, I am writing this to you from a half made craft space. I started moving into my new craft space on Saturday with the help of my husband. And I have continued on from there.  I am hoping to be almost complete by the end of this week. I will write a post up on my new space once I have completed the move. But anywho onto I’m sure the main reason that you have stopped by to look at my blog today my card creation.
This card is actually inspired by 2 challenge blogs today. The first being the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge and since it is the 2nd week of the month it is time for a colour challenge. November Colour Combo is Pink, Blue + Green
And the second challenge is – I suppose you have already guessed if this isn’t your first visit to my blog! Can you guess?? If you guessed a sketch then you would be 100% correct. This sketch is being brought to us by Linda from Freshly Made Sketches and it is Sketch #362.
Everything used on this card is from my stash, nothing new! I did look at my Christmas stash of products and it is getting low. I may need to look at buying some new supplies. I never thought that I would see the bottom of my old stash. But also with the sketch I have decided to make it bottom to top – so the circle is the lower most element on this card and I built it up from there. I have used a very old piece of Christmas paper that I have fished out of my off cuts drawer plus the other papers came from this same drawer. To cut this I used MFTs In&Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle die. Then I cut the circle element from some white card stock and placed pink layering weight paper behind this element. Out of blue and green paper backed with Couture Creations double sided backing paper I cut out the sentiment using my Cuttlebug. I dug into my sentiment dies and found the Kasiercraft Decorative Dies Christmas Word Pack and the sized worked perfectly for this card.  The finishing touch was to add some pink, green and clear stickles in just a few places. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. And as always before you depart I would like to leave you with this final thought
Even though I am without a craft space I still have to craft in one form or another! When I am not making cards I am doing crochet or colouring or spinning. I never go anywhere without a project just in case I find the opportunity to make some progress.

Have a Happy Crafty Progressive Kind of Day, ❤ TracyB

No Craft Space for Me

11 Peace.JPG

Hello everyone, another card made for my Christmas stash. But some of you maybe wondering why I named this post the way that I have.

Well at the moment there are cards to be made but at the moment I don’t have my space to make them. I am in the midst of changing the location of my craft room and it’s taking so long. Not because I have more commitments than I have in the past but now I am fighting my chronic pain all the way. It’s hard because I remember when I could change things around in a couple of days. Sometimes my family would walk into our family area and find that things had changed while they were at work and school.

I am making progress and that is a good thing. But during this I needed a distraction and crafting a card for my Christmas stash was the perfect excuse. So I went onto my computer and looked at a favourite blog of mine to see what the next challenge would be. And since it is the first week of the month it is Sketch Challenge time over on the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog and this is the sketch

The only change that I made to the sketch this time around is the orientation and the elements are further apart than on the sketch. I only noticed this after I had stuck everything down because I didn’t have the sketch with me. That will teach me not to print the sketch and make my notes before making it … OH I want my craft space back.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. And as always on all my blogs I would like to leave you with this last thought

Image result for lung cancer ribbon

I am 2 years today since I got the news that I had lung cancer.

I was very lucky on 3 accounts.

  1. That this was found at all. It was while I was having a scan for something totally different that this was detected
  2. That it wasn’t aggressive. It was found out later that this spot was on a previous scan that I had in 2003, but it wasn’t picked up for some reason
  3. That surgery has advanced; we were informed that this was operable and that I didn’t have to go through a lot of the bad side effects.  Before this they wouldn’t have operated and put me through courses of Chemo and Radiotherapy instead.

BUT this experience has changed both how I see things and also how my family sees things. We are grateful for the advances in medicine but also in God’s timing. Things would have been so different if it was detected back in 2003.

Have a Happy Crafty Grateful Kind of Day,

Santa’s Gnome

Hello Everyone. Another Christmas card made for my list. And I have gone with some clear stamps this time around.

I have made this card for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge following along with their current challenge. The October Technique Challenge of Masking.

a7816-october2btechnique

So this time around with using clear stamps I have gone down the more traditional route of using post-it notes for my mask. If you have never done this before let me give you a quick run down on how its done.

  1. You want to work out your placement of your images before you start stamping because you need to work out what is in front of other stamps.
  2. Now stamp the stamps that are the ones you want all the way in the front.
  3. Now stamp these images onto some post-it notes – make sure your image ends up on the sticky part of them so you can cover what you have already stamped.
  4. Cut out your images just inside of the stamped lines you will get a better match up if you do this.
  5. Cover your image with your mask
  6. Stamp the next layer and if needs be make a mask if there are any following layers that touch.
  7. Lift off your masks and reveal your scene.

I hear you asking but what if I missed something in that stamping process? You can use a pen that is safe for your colouring medium and fill in any lines if needs be.

With my scene I actually drew some trees in the background to give the rest of it some where to sit. I coloured these in with my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils lightly because I wanted to have the focus on the front images. The house, Gnome and signpost I coloured in with my Copic Markers. I used a sketch from Sweet Sunday #231 because I just can’t start to build a card without a sketch. As you can see I did make a minor change but I sometimes use the sketch from the past as a jumping off point for my creation.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card creation today. And as always before you go I want to leave you with this last thought

Good Morning! Sending you, our friends, a little hump day humor....but seriously, have a wonderful Wednesday.

Mind you I still can’t believe that it is only Wednesday. Well for me it’s early evening so I am closer to Saturday than I was at the beginning of today. May all of you have a great slide down into the weekend.

Cats Christmas

10 Cat Christmas

Hello everyone,
Another Christmas card finished and I am really happy with how it turned out. On my Christmas card list is a bunch of cat lovers and I am sure one of them will love receiving this.

This card was actually inspired by 2 challenges. The bunch over at Time Out Challenges are asking us to be Colourful for challenge #120 and then I have found a lovely sketch site over at Feeling Sketchy and this is sketch #203

FS #203.jpg
The first is the image from their site the 2nd is my copy with the measurements included.

I think that I have covered the Time Out requirements for being colourful. When I saw that challenge I thought of this image, I’m not 100% sure where I got this digital image from. But I printed it out and coloured it in with my Copic markers.  The papers are from my Christmas stash which is shrinking a little but I need to shrink it a lot more.

Hope you like my take on both of the challenges. Thanks for stopping by and having a look at my project. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought

RoughOh Snoopy my pal you don’t know the half of it and its not even the end yet! This has been a really really rough week. Hope that your week is going a whole heap better.

Have a Happy Crafty Smooth Kind of Day,

10 Cards from Odds and Ends

Card Set.jpg

Hello everyone, today I am bringing you 10 cards that came out of my Odds and Ends drawer.

This is the drawer that I have put cutoffs of various sizes over the years. When I shifted my craft space to a bigger area I remembered this drawer and instead of dumping its contents I decided to start making cards out of its contents. Otherwise I was going to dump the contents in the bin.

To make things a little easier on myself I decided to use card sketches to make this set. Below I am going to share both the sketch and card together. I have worked out the sketches for metric measurements instead of imperial because that is the measurements that we use in Australia.

Both of these cards started with their smallest element. I thought the Dog and the Life parts of other pages were too cute not to make them a main element on a card.

Thanks for sticking with this post if you made it this far. It was so good to make some cards from stuff that I had just kept for some reason. And to make so many from the same sort of paper – had a lot of fun! And before you go I would love to leave you with this final thought:

Pluviophile - https://themindsjournal.com/pluviophile/

This is definitely me! I seem to have been this way all of my life. I used to train in the rain when I was younger. I am so more active on days of rainy weather. But I do like to see the sun after a while – but hate the steamy weather that can follow rain!!

Have a Happy Crafty Rainy Kind of Day,
