When I started making this card I was initially trying to make a purely masculine card but now that I look at it I think that it could be suited for either. To make this card I followed along with the 2 challenges that I followed for the last card. Here are the details again for Color Throwdown #509 and CASe this Sketch #288 by Donna
This time around I looked through my 6X6 paper packs and found a Kasiercraft pack that had Red, Orange and Blue through it. And it also had some extra elements in the back of it including this scalloped circle that I used for the sentiment.
For the sketch I changed up the size of the rectangle elements to suit the size of the circle element. I actually like both cards I made using this sketch because the elements suit each other.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. But before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought:
“LIGHT-BULB MOMENT” oh I just saw this and it was a YES why hadn’t I considered this before. Somethings are hard to let go so now I am going to just let it be! This may be the break through that I have been needing.

This time around I am here to share a card that is based on a sketch from CASe this Sketch and a Color Throwdown challenge. The challenge details look like this …
I dove into my 6X6 paper packs and found Bluebell by Kasiercraft this had a mix of Red, Orange and Blue which suited the colour challenge. I stamped the Butterfly image onto some card stock and sponged Salty Ocean, Spiced Marmalade and Fired Brick Distress Inks over it. Then I stamped the sentiment onto the Red paper.
This card came together a lot quicker than usual I think that this is because I drew out the sketch first and figured out the sizes. Next time this sketch is used I think the 2 smaller elements should be a little smaller – I noted this on the drawing I made.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project today. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought:
Oh you should see mine at the moment. It looks like a bomb hit it! I do need to get into sorting through what is on there though. But I did have fun while making the mess so that is something I suppose!
Have a Happy Crafty Cluttered Kind of Day,
Anyone who has visited my blog before today will know how I love to combine challenges especially a colour and sketch challenge. And I have gone with 2 of my favourite challenge sites – Color Throwdown with Combo #506 with Lisa and CASe this Sketch #285 with Chrissy. Here are the photo inspiration and sketch
To pull this card together I searched through my stash of paper pads and found this lovely set and knew that it was the perfect match for the color challenge. I am still learning how to add mating to layers and also a new cutter … we are not of full talking terms yet. But I am super happy with how this card turned out.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today and looking at my project. And before you go I would love to leave you with this thought:
I love this movie it is a favourite of mine. And I love this quote as well. I try to find an element of fun in most things. If you are enjoying what and where you are at then it helps to get you through. And crafting is definately fun – I don’t have to find my happiness in this activity!

Time for me to post up another combination challenge card that I have made. I loved the sketch #283 by Donna from CASe this Sketch that I decided to make a card straight away and I combined it with the Color Throwdown #504 using the colours Black, Copper and White.
And this is the card that I came up with using these challenges
and the information from the challenges
It was the sketch that started this card off. When I saw it I knew the image that I wanted to use. This is Space Man by DigiStamp Boutique but it has been retired but I still like it. When I went searching through my stash though I couldn’t find any copper or rust paper or card stock so I had to improvise and made my own. I had a Copper Brilliance Ink Dew Drop so I dragged this across some white card stock and heated it to dry it faster. Then I used my star punch to make the star field.
When I went to put my Space Man on the starry paper I found that it looked weird just hanging there so I made a frame using a stitched square die but the next size down was too small so I cut around the inside of the die to give me the size of frame I was happy with. And this just completed the card nicely. The sentiment stamp is from the Out of This World stamp set by Uniquely Creative.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. As always before you depart I would love to leave you with this final thought
I was sure that this past week was here to break me. But I am still here despite everything because I looked to my Lord who gave me verses from the Bible just when I needed them most. He has also surrounded me with wonderful people who help me to get through even when I feel like I am breaking. Here is one of the verses I was given:
PSALM 116 verse 7
Be confident, my heart, because the Lord has been good to me.

Kind of Day,
UPDATE 11 Aug 2018
I was lucky to receive this for my entry!
This was such a wonderful surprise.
This is the 2nd card that I made using the 2 challenges that I combined together.
and these are the two challenges that I have based this card on
This time around with CASe this Sketch #282 by Brian I stuck pretty close to the sketch. My circle elements are a little off the page but it’s how I was able to fit it due to it’s size.
For the Color Throwdown #503 combination I went leftover drawer diving to see if I could find some papers that would work together – I found these and the plain grey card stock which I thought worked well together. It is so nice to be using up stuff from my stash. The cupcake image and the sentiment are actually stickers from the same set.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project today. And before you go I would love to leave you with this final thought:
I have actually found myself saying this lately. Sometimes it is just easier not having to explain why I’m not feeling well again!! I don’t feel well most of the time I am just getting really good at living with it. Sorry to end on such a downer but this is the reality for many people… I definitely don’t look at people the same way any more.

Cupcake Kind of Day,
It is so good to be back crafting again. My shoulder isn’t 100% better but I am able to do some stuff again. So this is better than nothing. Today I am going to be sharing with you 2 cards made for the same challenges.
And here are the 2 challenges that my card is based on
My aim with this card was to make use of my stash – everything including the image comes from my stash of supplies.
The Color Throwdown #503 challenge gave me a chance to make another Christmas card for my long list of recipients – I need to make more I’m so behind this year!
And I loved the CASe this Sketch #282 by Brian but as you can see I didn’t flip the sketch I stretched it 😀
I am unsure which Digi company my image comes from but it has been sitting in my pile of already coloured images for ages just waiting for the right card to come along. I had already made her into a square I hope that this small change is OK for the sketch challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today and having a look at my blog and project. I want to leave you with this final thought:
This is something that I have implemented into my life. I want to remember the positive things that I have experienced during the day and be grateful for the day that I was given by God.

Grateful Kind of Day,
This time I am back with a card project plus a bonus project. I so wanted to get into my new card making space and see how the set up was to use. So that I wouldn’t have a total mind blank while crafting I decided to follow along with one of my favourite card challenge blogs. Color Throwdown had just put up their newest colour combo #501 and I thought that I had an image that would suit perfectly for a quick and easy card so I sat down and made this card with this combo.
Aren’t the colours for the combo wonderful. I thought that they were so peaceful and would suit being used for an Anniversary card. So I pulled out a favourite stamp set of mine “Darkroom Doors Full Bloom Vol.1” and used the rose image and stamped this onto Kraft cardstock and coloured with my pencils. Then I cut this image out with a die from my stash and mounted it onto some grey cardstock.
The papers are by Kaisercraft from my stash so is the yellow glitter cardstock which I thought helped to tie the image a bit more into the card. I was really happy with how the card turned out and my card area does work but there is a couple of problems which I hope to sort out soon.
I thought that I would share with you a bonus project that I did. This is a card that I made for a dear friend at our church who just had his birthday. The photo doesn’t do the card justice – the yellow border is stamped with a subtle but striking pattern. On the giraffe panel I first used various red, orange, yellow and brown Distress Inks to achieve the sunset type backdrop then I stamped the giraffe, leaves and grasses in black ink and coloured in the giraffe. The scarf that the card is sitting on top of is made of a very bulky acrylic yarn and woven on my Ashford Ridge Heddle Loom. I told you that I was into different crafts!! This is just another one of them – doing different crafts helps me to do different stuff depending on what my illness will let me do that day. Today has been walking with my Son and making 2 cards … so all in all a good day.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog today. And as usual before you leave I want to leave you with this final thought:
Any day spent with a little or a lot of crafting in it is a good one. I find it relaxing and it’s like a medicine for my soul.
Have a Happy Wonderful Crafty Kind of Day,
