May Colour Challenge for 52CCT

Hello everyone, it is the 2nd week of my hosting duties for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge and this week it is colour time. I must admit that I had to think about this one for a while I wasn’t really sure what I should choose but this is what I came up with.

02 May colour

You can take this any way you want to really. But for me, traditional colours for Christmas are Red, Green and White. You could go with these colours but with the brighter shades instead of the more muted tones that we usually see.

05 Wk2 Colour

You can see that I have used the usual colours but my tones are on the bright side and I have used purple for my matting layers instead of the usual maroon shade of red. I didn’t know if I would like working with these colours for a Christmas card but I am really happy with how this turned out.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Teamwork. I hope that you will come on over to the 52CCT challenge blog and see what the other members have done with my colour challenge and maybe you will decide to play along with us. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

April Colour Challenge for 52CCT

Hello everyone, here we are in the 2nd week of April. It always feels weird making Christmas cards when as you are reading this we are in the most Holy of weeks in the Christian calendar. Today is Easter Saturday the day before we celebrate Easter and for those who are of the Christian faith remember the biggest sacrifice ever known to man.

But anyway over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge, it is colour week. This time around we have these colours to play with

02 April colour

So we want to see your creations using these 2 colours. These are very traditional Christmas colours so I would think that you have something suitable in your stash.

04 Wk2 Colour

I had so much fun making this card. The paper behind is from a Christmas set but I have used it before for Valentines. I stamped out this little Santa and coloured him in with my Copics and I used my usual trick for the fluffy bits and used my White Pearl Liquid Pearls and dabbed it on and left it to dry. Then I cut the image out with my detail scissors and added him to the sentiment strip.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project for the April colour challenge. If you haven’t already stopped by the 52CCT blog I would recommend going on over and looking at what the other team members have been up to with this challenge. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

52CCT March Colours

Hello everyone, I am here today to share with you my Colour project for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge. And we have these colours for us to play along with

02 March colour

If you looked into my craft space you would think that I would have everything to make anything but … even surprising to me I didn’t! But more on that later here is my card that I made

03 Wk2 Colour

Anyway, I had to go to the craft store to buy some Kraft paper. I didn’t have any in my stash even though I would have sworn that I did. This card came together pretty quickly thanks to the large sentiment image that was part of the paper pack that I used for this card. Looking at this card now I probably should have matted my lace paper before attaching it to the card but I will know this for next time I use this product.

Thanks for stopping on by and looking at my design team make for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge. I hope that you will come on over and look at the other design team makes and maybe even join in on the fun. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

52CCT February Colour

Hello everyone, today it is time for us to have some fun with colour. It is the second week of February and this means it is colour challenge time over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. And this week Netta has chosen these colours for us to have fun with …

02 Feb colour

Netta wants us to have fun with Monochromatic Tones of Blue. This should be a lot of fun but also a challenge as well as sticking with just one colour palette.

02 Wk2 Colour

This ended up being a fun card to design. I got to play with a lot of different supplies in my craft room. I have used a stripes embossing folder for the background paper, the lacy strip across the middle was actually white to start off but I used 2 Distress Inks to colour it up with my makeup brushes. I stamped the word tree image with 3 different blue inks and ran my inks around the edge of the panel. Lots of fun to make but a simple design I think?

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project for the Colour Challenge over at the 52CCT challenge. I hope that you will come on over and play along with our latest challenge. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Happy Bird-day

Hello everyone, here is Day 6 of the Bugaboo 10th Birthday Bash. What an interesting set of colours to play along with.

I didn’t use a cow on my project but I did use a sweet image from Bugaboo.

01 15 Bug Birthday Day6

Unfortunately this sweet Bird/Chick image is no longer available in the Bugaboo Digital Store. But you will find some fine feathered friends to make yours. I coloured in this image with my Copic markers and used a birthday embossing folder on some aqua paper and layered everything in this green paper.

Thanks for stopping on in and looking at my card project. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Why do roosters look so neat? Because they always have a comb!

May you find time to be crafty today.

Cards and Yarn

Hello everyone, today is day 6 of the Catch the Bug: Holiday Critter Chaos Challenge. And this time around its a colour challenge. And I just loved the combo that they chose.

12-22-polar-yarn.jpg

This photo below made me so happy for a few different reasons. The colour combo is purple – which I LOVE!!. The photo is of yarn and when I am not making cards you can usually find me playing with yarn. I buy yarn from stores but I also spin my own as well. My card photo features a half spun bobbin of purple shaded yarn which I haven’t completed yet.

Bugaboo Holiday Critter Chaos Challenge Day 6 – Colour Challenge.

For my card, I used some bauble stamps from my collection and stamped them over the background in colours which were as close as I could get to the challenge colours. The polar bear with his scarf was coloured in with my copics. I was able to add the mustard yellow here as I didn’t have ink in this colour. I fussy cut the image but going closer near his hands and feet so that he could sit nearer to the sentiment sticker.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Day 6 Critter card. Before you depart I would like to leave you with this last thought for the post.

Pick a Challenge

Hello everyone, I hope that you are having fun with our Pick a Challenge from 2019 December Challenge. I was having so much fun looking back on the cards that I made during the year that I decided that I would put a card in for the reminder post for our challenge.

Decemberpickaprevious

This time around I went back to March for the Colour Challenge which was White and Gold. I wasn’t 100% happy with what I had done for that challenge so I wanted to see what I could come up with this time around.

Even though this card is on the simpler side of things I am really pleased with how it turned out. I think that keeping the card design simple helped a lot. You have until Midnight Friday 27th December (GMT) to come and play along with our Challenge.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team card design. I hope that you will come and participate in the challenge. Before you depart from my blog I would like to leave you with this final thought for this post.

Monster Sized Birthday

Hello everyone, it is so good to be in my craft space again and being able to craft. For awhile I thought that I wouldn’t be able to get back here again for quite some time but I have been blessed with a good day so I am taking advantage of it. And so I am here to share another card that I have made and this time around it is a combo of 2 challenges.

11 24 Monster Birthday

What started this card off this time was actually the November Colour Challenge from Catch the Bug. I had to search quite a way through my paper pads to find something that came close (I Hope) to the challenge palette

And then I found this sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #343. I use to be a part of their design team but due to life commitments, I had to step down earlier this year. But I still love playing along with the challenges.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design. I really appreciate you stopping in and for all of the likes and comments that I get as well. They all help my growth in my card making. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this thought to ponder on.

52CCT September Colour Challenge

Hello Everyone,
It is the 2nd week of September which means over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge we are playing with colours. Myrna has actually chosen 2 colours for us to play with and they are

02 Colour

Sometimes being restricted by choice can be a good thing. And sometimes not so much! This is the card that I made using this colour combination.

52CCT 09 2019 wk2 Colour

This colour combo gave me a little trouble and the card that I produced wasn’t what I had intended but I am pleased with the results. The sentiment is printed on my computer using the words from a much smaller stamp – I wanted the sentiment to be the focal point of my card so I had to upsize the font. The papers that I used are from a paper pack by Kasiercraft called “First Noel” which came out last year. And I have used some of my new Love from Lizi stickers that I got in the post not that long ago.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team make for this weeks challenge over at the 52CCT challenge. I hope that we will see your project over there sometime. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

52CCT August Colour

Hello Everyone,

It is the 2nd week of the month and over at 52 Christmas Card Challenge
Netta has chosen this colour combo for us to play with.

I must admit that this colour combination was a bit difficult for me to get my head around. But this is the card that I came up with.

When I started making this card I looked through my stash; I found that I didn’t have any craft products that suited so this meant a trip to my local big box craft store. I was lucky to find this bronze coloured tape but no papers in these colours. So I decided to make my own using a set of Layered Stencils to make a plaid background paper. I am not sure if I like this set of stencils but this is my first time using this particular set so I will have to play with different colour combos to make my final assessment.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team creation. I hope that you will come on over to 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and participate in the challenge. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought.

Until Next Time,
Tracy B
