Favourite Human

Hello everyone.
Today I am here to share with you a card which is made using the Double Trouble challenge which is actually closing soon. I had planned on uploading this earlier but lifeinteruptus happened. But at least I am getting share it before the challenge closes … yes?

They are teaming up with the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop so I will be entering my card into that challenge as well.

This card was inspired by the challenges but also gave me a chance to use up some of my scraps from a patterned paper pad I had been working through.

This cute little coffee cup and bean image is a digital image from Meljen’s Digital Designs. Unfortunately this company is no longer trading with all of their stamps. Some are available from Whimsy Stamps but the rest are gone. I love Melissa’s style of drawing and I will continue to use the stamps often. I coloured in this image with my copic markers to match the patterned papers. The sentiment is one I made using my computer and printer as I had nothing coffee related in my stash.

Everything is matted with a tan coloured cardstock but when I went to put it onto my black layer I found that I had cut my piece wrong. The layers were fully stuck and I didn’t want to ruin my image so I extended the top and lower part with some gold glitter washi tape. So good to be using stuff from my stash.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my card design. I hope that you find yourself being creative in any way today.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

52CCT Theme Challenge October 2022

Hello everyone.
Today, I am here to share my design using the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown theme challenge.

These adorable penguins are a digital stamp that is no longer available but I still love using it. They always put a smile on my face each time I come to use them. I coloured in this image with my Copic markers. Since I wanted this image to stand out I went with a very simple card design.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design using the Theme Challenge over on the 52CCT blog. I hope that you will come and see what the others designers have done with this challenge. And then come and join in the fun and make a card and share it with us.

Until my next post,

Leaves Thank You

Hello Everyone.
While I was in my craft space I loved the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge so much that I decided to use it again but this time in conjunction with the challenge from Double Trouble Challenge.

This card is made with some supplies that have been in my stash for years and some brand new ones which were gifted to me. So I wanted to send a thank you to the wonderful person who gave them.

The paper pad, Copic markers and ink pads have been in my stash for quite awhile. But the stamps are new. The thank you sentiment is from Paper Rose Studios and the leaves are from a company called Pasttime Crafts. The colours that I used were actually chosen by the image that I chose from the stamp set.

The whole colour combo was decided by the recipe from Double Trouble Thing 1.

From:       The Kitchen at Double Trouble
Servings:  Unlimited Portions of Fun
Recipe:     3-2-1 Recipe

Ingredients:  3  Colors of your Choice, 2  Embellishments and 1  Stamped or Digital Image

The 3 colours are brown, green (in various shades) and orange. I have 2 types of embellishments – the straight dark green stickers and the orange circle holographic. I did use 1 stamp image but multiple times – I hope this meet the recipe.

I had so much fun joining these challenges together. I hope that you like my interpretation of these challenges. My wish for you is that you will find yourself doing something that you truly love.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

52CCT August 2022 Theme Challenge

Hello Everyone. Today I am sharing my card design for the theme challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. Themes can be interesting depending on how you interpret them.

When I saw this theme I decided to put an Aussie twist into my make this week. I went with what a Summer Santa would be up to.

As you can see Santa isn’t in the snow – he’s having a wonderful time out on a lake waterskiing. Many times when we have been on holiday at Christmas this is how Santa would arrive or by another watercraft – fully dressed in his suit with a goody bag for the kids.

This image is a free kid’s colouring-in page which I have shrunk down to fit on an A6-sized card front. I have coloured in the picture with my Copic markers. But I have added some Liquid Pearls in White Opal to his beard to give it a bushy appearance.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design for the 52CCT Theme. I hope that you will come and craft along with us and upload your makes to our challenge blog.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to yourself and others.

52CCT August 2022 Colour Challenge

Hello everyone. I am here today with my card creation for the latest challenge at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog. Since it is the 2nd Saturday of the month it is colour challenge time.

Definitely, a different colour combination to be used for the creation of a Christmas card. It threw me for a little while but I went onto Pinterest and looked at some pictures of this colour combination. A lot of the inspiration came from the accessories so I thought what could I do?

These candle stickers were in my stash and I thought they could be coloured to match the colour combination. I stuck them onto some light purple cardstock and coloured them using some R & RV Copic Markers.

I found some gold paper in my stash and cut this into 2 different widths and stuck this to some light pink cardstock. In my sticker stash, I have some Love from Lizi pinstripe stickers so I added these between the gold paper. Both the main and picture layers were layered with some dark purple cardstock. To complete the card I added a season’s greeting sticker and some gold dots.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my design for the colour challenge at 52CCT. I hope that you will come and create with us and show us your creations over on the challenge blog.

Until my next post,

52CCT March 2022 Theme Challenge

Hello everyone. Welcome to the March theme challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge.

This card is on the simpler side for me but putting it together took more time than some of my other cards. To make this card I followed these steps
1. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 8cm square
2. Place this piece of cardstock into my stamp platform on a wreath jig
3. Because of the size of the cardstock and stamp I only stamped this 4 times instead of the 8 times that is possible
4. Stamped and inked the sentiment stamp 3 times in different Memento inks protecting each part with a post-it to prevent cross-contamination of the different colours.
5. Coloured in the holly & berries with my Copic markers
6. Inked the edge of the panel with Faded Denim Distress Ink and a blending brush

After making the image panel I cut some multi-colour gingham paper to fit the front of a card before matting this with red lightweight cardstock; I added 3 blue mirror pinstripe stickers from Love From Lizi to the lower part of the panel. The image panel I matted with the same red cardstock before adding foam squares to add a little depth to the card.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card for the theme challenge over at 52CCT. I hope that you come and create along with us and share your makes over on the challenge site. Before you go I would like to leave you with this final thought for this post.

Until my next post,

Stay Unique

Hello Everyone,
I loved the combination of the challenges from my previous post that I actually made a 2nd card to share with you all.

I used the same line again as well which was Animal(s) & Friendship Sentiment & Dry Embossing/Scoring.

The 2 pieces of patterned paper are from the same paper pad as my previous card as well but you would think that they weren’t with them being so different. This time though I cut a piece of Lavendar lightweight cardstock to just a bit bigger than the card front and ran this through my Gemini Jnr using an embossing folder. I wanted the design to stand out a little more so I used a large ink blending foam and some Sweet Plum Memento Ink. I also used this ink to stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set as the unicorn. The unicorn I stamped with Black Hybrid Ink from My Favorite Things as this ink allows me to colour with either Copics or Pencils. In this case, I used my Copic markers.

When putting this card together I did add paper shims under a lot of the elements just to help it all stick and stay level on top of the embossed panel. For the embossed panel, I used some wider double-sided tape to make sure I had enough contact points with the mat layer. Once I had all of the elements together I add some gold circle holographic stickers from my stash just to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping in to look at my card using the 2 challenges together again. Before you leave my blog I would love to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

AHSC #459

Hello Everyone. Today’s card features a sketch from Michelle over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. If you have been too my blog before you know that I love creating with sketches.

The sketch is set out for a slimline card but I don’t have any supplies to be able to create one of these so I created with this sketch to make an A6 sized card which is standard for Australia. This is one thing that I love about sketches they can be a wonderful jumping off point for your creations and you can use them to fit the supplies that you have.

This card was made with some very soft pink patterned paper from an older Kasiercraft paper pad. And these Zinnia flower stamps have been sitting in my stash for quite a number of years. Too the point of them turning yellow but they still stamp as crisp as the day I bought them. After I stamped them using my stamp positioner and some My Favorite Things Black Hybrid Ink I coloured them in with my Copic Markers. I thought that the purple would offset againt the main pink elements well and they did 🙂 Once I had finished colouring in the images I fussy cut around them.

Then I put the rest of the elements together. I put double sided backing paper onto some lightweight black paper before running this through my Gemini Jnr with the 3 window die called Card Creator 2 from Paper Rose Studios. To make things a little easier on myself I just peeled off the release paper from the die cut and laid this over the top of the pink & gold dot paper and then cut around it instead of inlaying each piece. I attached this to the middle of my cards main panel with my ATG and then added the Zinnia flowers with some Nuvo glue. Then I picked out a sentiment from the Black & White Sentiment Sheets from Paper Rose Studios. This is one of the white sentiments that I coloured purple with some Distress Inks as the white was just too stark for the rest of the elements on the card and I added some purple iridesent circle stickers to finish.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card as part of the design team for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will create along with the sketch and show us your creations over at the challenge blog. Before you go off and continue with your day I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

Birthday Greeting

Hello everyone. This afternoon I have had the opportunity to get into my craft room to do both some crafting and some computer work as well. First onto my card creation and it started with a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Tuesday Morning Sketch #641

I didn’t 100% follow the sketch but the reason for this is that I wanted to make a card with the 2nd half of my image that I used on my “Thinking of You” card that I shared last week. Plus also the paper pad that I had on my desk worked with the colours that I had used in the image. I had coloured this image in with my Copic Markers before cutting the first part of the image. This sketch suited the piece that I had leftover. To give a little definition to the image I used some Love From Lizi Gold Glitter Pin Stripe Peel Offs. And some Gold Star Stickers from my stash; not sure who made these.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card made with the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. Before you depart I want to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

Birthday Penguin

Hello, everyone. As I mentioned in my previous post I made 2 cards using the same challenges but with this card, I decided that I would include the twist version from the Double Trouble Challenge. And just to remind us of the challenge they are …

So it is to use 3 different patterned papers but this time include a Penguin

So once I found out about the twist I went searching in my images to see if I had something that I could work with. And I found this cute but unfortunately no longer available digi image from Meljen Designs. I fussy cut around the ribbon part of the image before using a circle die to cut both the image and the black mat as well with my Gemini Jnr machine. Then I matted all the other papers with black paper before adhering them to my card base. I found this gold washi tape in my stash as I wanted to break up the very purple card that I had created. By adding this to some cardstock before adhering it to the card it helped to make sure it didn’t have any marks from the papers beneath.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my 2nd make using the challenges from Try Stampin On Tuesday and Double Trouble. Before you go I would like to leave you with this final thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.
