52CCT March 2022 Theme Challenge

Hello everyone. Welcome to the March theme challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge.

This card is on the simpler side for me but putting it together took more time than some of my other cards. To make this card I followed these steps
1. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 8cm square
2. Place this piece of cardstock into my stamp platform on a wreath jig
3. Because of the size of the cardstock and stamp I only stamped this 4 times instead of the 8 times that is possible
4. Stamped and inked the sentiment stamp 3 times in different Memento inks protecting each part with a post-it to prevent cross-contamination of the different colours.
5. Coloured in the holly & berries with my Copic markers
6. Inked the edge of the panel with Faded Denim Distress Ink and a blending brush

After making the image panel I cut some multi-colour gingham paper to fit the front of a card before matting this with red lightweight cardstock; I added 3 blue mirror pinstripe stickers from Love From Lizi to the lower part of the panel. The image panel I matted with the same red cardstock before adding foam squares to add a little depth to the card.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card for the theme challenge over at 52CCT. I hope that you come and create along with us and share your makes over on the challenge site. Before you go I would like to leave you with this final thought for this post.

Until my next post,

Stay Unique

Hello Everyone,
I loved the combination of the challenges from my previous post that I actually made a 2nd card to share with you all.

I used the same line again as well which was Animal(s) & Friendship Sentiment & Dry Embossing/Scoring.

The 2 pieces of patterned paper are from the same paper pad as my previous card as well but you would think that they weren’t with them being so different. This time though I cut a piece of Lavendar lightweight cardstock to just a bit bigger than the card front and ran this through my Gemini Jnr using an embossing folder. I wanted the design to stand out a little more so I used a large ink blending foam and some Sweet Plum Memento Ink. I also used this ink to stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set as the unicorn. The unicorn I stamped with Black Hybrid Ink from My Favorite Things as this ink allows me to colour with either Copics or Pencils. In this case, I used my Copic markers.

When putting this card together I did add paper shims under a lot of the elements just to help it all stick and stay level on top of the embossed panel. For the embossed panel, I used some wider double-sided tape to make sure I had enough contact points with the mat layer. Once I had all of the elements together I add some gold circle holographic stickers from my stash just to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping in to look at my card using the 2 challenges together again. Before you leave my blog I would love to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

Hello Everyone. Today’s card features a sketch from Michelle over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. If you have been too my blog before you know that I love creating with sketches.

The sketch is set out for a slimline card but I don’t have any supplies to be able to create one of these so I created with this sketch to make an A6 sized card which is standard for Australia. This is one thing that I love about sketches they can be a wonderful jumping off point for your creations and you can use them to fit the supplies that you have.

This card was made with some very soft pink patterned paper from an older Kasiercraft paper pad. And these Zinnia flower stamps have been sitting in my stash for quite a number of years. Too the point of them turning yellow but they still stamp as crisp as the day I bought them. After I stamped them using my stamp positioner and some My Favorite Things Black Hybrid Ink I coloured them in with my Copic Markers. I thought that the purple would offset againt the main pink elements well and they did 🙂 Once I had finished colouring in the images I fussy cut around them.

Then I put the rest of the elements together. I put double sided backing paper onto some lightweight black paper before running this through my Gemini Jnr with the 3 window die called Card Creator 2 from Paper Rose Studios. To make things a little easier on myself I just peeled off the release paper from the die cut and laid this over the top of the pink & gold dot paper and then cut around it instead of inlaying each piece. I attached this to the middle of my cards main panel with my ATG and then added the Zinnia flowers with some Nuvo glue. Then I picked out a sentiment from the Black & White Sentiment Sheets from Paper Rose Studios. This is one of the white sentiments that I coloured purple with some Distress Inks as the white was just too stark for the rest of the elements on the card and I added some purple iridesent circle stickers to finish.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card as part of the design team for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will create along with the sketch and show us your creations over at the challenge blog. Before you go off and continue with your day I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

Birthday Greeting

Hello everyone. This afternoon I have had the opportunity to get into my craft room to do both some crafting and some computer work as well. First onto my card creation and it started with a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Tuesday Morning Sketch #641

I didn’t 100% follow the sketch but the reason for this is that I wanted to make a card with the 2nd half of my image that I used on my “Thinking of You” card that I shared last week. Plus also the paper pad that I had on my desk worked with the colours that I had used in the image. I had coloured this image in with my Copic Markers before cutting the first part of the image. This sketch suited the piece that I had leftover. To give a little definition to the image I used some Love From Lizi Gold Glitter Pin Stripe Peel Offs. And some Gold Star Stickers from my stash; not sure who made these.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card made with the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. Before you depart I want to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

Birthday Penguin

Hello, everyone. As I mentioned in my previous post I made 2 cards using the same challenges but with this card, I decided that I would include the twist version from the Double Trouble Challenge. And just to remind us of the challenge they are …

So it is to use 3 different patterned papers but this time include a Penguin

So once I found out about the twist I went searching in my images to see if I had something that I could work with. And I found this cute but unfortunately no longer available digi image from Meljen Designs. I fussy cut around the ribbon part of the image before using a circle die to cut both the image and the black mat as well with my Gemini Jnr machine. Then I matted all the other papers with black paper before adhering them to my card base. I found this gold washi tape in my stash as I wanted to break up the very purple card that I had created. By adding this to some cardstock before adhering it to the card it helped to make sure it didn’t have any marks from the papers beneath.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my 2nd make using the challenges from Try Stampin On Tuesday and Double Trouble. Before you go I would like to leave you with this final thought for this post.

Until my next post,

Thinking Of You

Hello everyone. I have been able to get into my craft space and make some cards and I have 2 cards made for the same set of challenges. I must admit that making more of 1 card design in 1 sitting is very unusual for me. But I loved the sketch and the challenges that were put together that I made 2 cards.

Use 3 different patterns on your project for Double Trouble.

The 3 different patterns weren’t a problem for me and I loved the sketch. This is what I did with these challenges.

I had to change the placement of the sentiment as I cut and placed the papers before I checked the sketch sitting on my computer. The sentiment strip from the Black & White Sentiment Sheets from Paper Rose Studio even though thin wouldn’t have fitted.

The image is called Vintage Anglers/Fishermen by Delicious Doodles on Etsy is a digital image. This comes as a Black and White image but I decided to add some colour to it using my Copic Markers. Because of the size that I printed this image; I actually have the other half to use on another card. The colours I chose were in relation to the papers that I chose to use for the card.

Thanks for stopping in and having a look at my card design for this combo of different challenges. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

AHSC #447

Hello everyone. I am here today to share a card using a sketch from Michelle over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. If you have been to my blog before you know that I love creating with sketches.

With this card design, I incorporated a photo that my husband John took on one of his photography adventures. This cheeky Kookaburra just peaking around the edge of a branch gave me a chuckle and I thought he went well with my saying that I wanted to use for this design. The paper pad that I found partly used in my stash was the starting point for all of this. When I saw the colours I was immediately reminded of gum trees and the bush. I was also able to use a set of gum leaves and blossom dies from Paper Rose Studio. The leaves are cut from one of the papers in the paper pad and various green distress inks were applied after cutting. The blossoms were cut from some white cardstock and then coloured in with my Copic markers.

This card is going to go into my stash of cards bound for a nursing home I thought that one of the residents would get a kick out of the photo of the Kookaburra. I like to be able to incorporate images from our travels as part of my crafting as it becomes fun two-fold once with the adventure itself and second with my crafting. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my design team make today. I hope that you will come and create along with us and show us your makes over on our challenge blog.

Until next time,

Happy Anniversary

Hello everyone, today I am here to share with you a card that I made with the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

And this is the card that I made with this sketch

06 20th TMS610

The picture is actually a Winter image but I decided that I wanted to be in more Spring than the Winter weather that I am experiencing at the moment. So while using my Copic markers to colour this image I added leaves to the branches and bushes plus grass to give a more spring feel to it. I did also use my MFT cloud stencil behind everything as well but the colour I used is quite subtle. The anniversary sentiment is from the Phil Martin Essential Sentiments Set.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and looking at my card make for the Tuesday Morning Sketches #610. I hope that today will find you doing something that you truly love.

Until my next post,

Try Stampin On Tuesday no.509

Hello everyone, I was able to get into my craft space for some extra crafting time to be able to make some cards to be able to sell at a camp coming up soon. I decided to look at a favourite challenge blog Try Stampin’ On Tuesday. This was the sketch that they had up on their blog.

And this is what I did with this sketch.

06 6th TSOT509

I had a lot of fun colouring in this image with my copic markers. But I am not sure where this digital image comes from but it is a favourite one of mine. These papers have been sitting on my desk for a little while and I added some green shimmer paper; everything was layered onto red cardstock before being put onto a white card base.

Thanks for taking the time to stop on by and look at my card project. I hope that you find yourself doing something that you love.

Until my next post,
Be kind to Yourself and Others.

MOJO no547

Hello everyone, October has begun and I am still making Christmas cards. So I was looking around for some inspiration to help me to continue to finish off a paper pad that I have been working my way through. Since I love sketches I decided to check out a favourite sketch challenge blog to see if the paper that I had left would work and yes it did 🙂

10 09 Mojo 547

The paper at the top and bottom of the card is actually a smaller piece cut into two and I could do this because of the bigger panel in the middle. The green star paper was a panel that had been cut off from another project. So this was a card made from leftovers from other cards. The only new thing on this card is the image and that is a stamp that I have in my stash from quite a few years ago but it was freshly stamped for this card and coloured on the same day.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look at my card project. Please let me know in some way that you stopped on by, I really appreciate it. Before you depart my blog I want to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Doing anything that is good for my health at the moment. It’s been one of “those” kind of weeks.

Until my next post,
Be kind to Yourself and Others.
❤ Tracy
