52CCT September Theme Challenge

Hello everyone, here we are in the 3rd week of September which means we are up to having a theme challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. And this time around the theme is …

September theme

The card creations this time around need to feature a polar bear or a penguin or a combination of these 2 creatures. For my card, I decided that I would use both.

09 Wk3 Theme

I have had these stamps in my stash for quite a while and they get used quite regularly because I just love these critters. And I decided that I would put them onto a slimline card as well. To make the background I used a combination of distress inks and a blending brush over a simply cut mask from paper. My copic markers were used to colour in the critters; my polar turned out a little brown but I have seen some that are nearly this colour so I thought that it still suited.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Teamwork for the Theme challenge over at the 52CCT. I hope that you will go on over to the blog and see what the other designers have been up to. Before you depart my blog though I would love to leave you with this final thought for this post.

Until my next post,

AHSC no.385

Hello everyone. Are you ready to play along with another fabulous sketch from Michelle from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I love playing along with sketches and here is the latest from AHSC.

AHSC 385 Sept 7th 2020

I must admit that this one stumped me for a little while. But when I made this we were still leading up to Fathers Day here in Australia so I started with having to make this kind of card.

AHSC 385

I have a set of stamps that has images to use on both male and female cards and this set of tools is one of them. I decided to use some of the tools to hang on the line and then I had 2 left over so I put them just above the sentiment. The sentiment stamp comes from a set from Paper Rose Studios and it has some great Dad sentiments. Kasiercraft papers were used for the main elements all layered in brown layering cardstock.

Thanks for coming over to my blog to look at what I did with Michelle’s sketch. I hope that you will pop on over to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog and see what the other designers have been up to. Before you go though I would love to leave you with this las thought for this post.

AHSC no.383

Hello everyone, I am back with another sketch challenge from Michelle who is the host of the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. If you have been to my blog before you know that I love playing along with sketches and this is the sketch that we get to use this time around.

AHSC 383 Aug 24th 2020

Don’t forget that you can flip this card or even use it in the portrait orientation we really don’t mind. But this is what I made with this sketch.

AHSC 383

You may be thinking that it’s a bit late to be making Dad’s Day cards but not here in the southern hemisphere. We don’t actually celebrate Fathers Day until the first Sunday in September. I am making some extras to donate to our Church’s marketplace so that others can send cards to their Dads.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team work for the AHSC this time around. I hope that you will stop on by the blog and see what the other designers have been up to with this sketch. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last image for this post.

52CCT August Technique Challenge

Hello everyone, here we are at the end of August. Can you believe that we are here already? I can’t or at least some of the time I think the year is flying other times I feel like it’s being dragged kicking and screaming.

But anywho we are in the 4th week of August and its time for either a Technique or Stash Challenge and this time around …

So it’s a technique challenge and we are being asked to make shadows. Now this can be achieved in any form either by making shadows on a background, main motive, greetings..  using stamps, stencils, embossing powders….you could also draw shadows yourself. So how you achieve it is up to you. And this is the card that I created …

08 Wk4 Technique

I chose to use a stencil and some distress inks to make my shadows for one of the main panels on my card. But then I also did the same technique on the jumper of my Penguin. I masked off his sleeves so that I could stencil this without it going where I didn’t want it too.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I hope that you will pop on by the challenge blog and see what the other designers have been up to with this technique. And then I would love to see your creation shared on our blog. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

AHSC no.379

Hello everyone, I am here again as a designer for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and we are up to number 379. Had a lot of fun with this sketch from Michelle.

AHSC 379 27 July

I decided that I needed to start making Father’s Day cards as we celebrate this on the first Sunday in September. And I donate cards to my church for sale at their marketplace so I need to start. But this is the card that I came up with using this sketch.

AHSC 379

This BBQ Dad image is from another closed Digi image company called Digi Stamp Boutique. But I will still use images in my archives because I bought them and I like using them still and a lot of them I haven’t found anything to really replace them. I coloured this image in using my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils and my Copic Markers. I really like the contrast of using these two mediums together.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project. I hope that you will stop on over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and play along with this sketch. Before you do hop on over their I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

Sketch Saturday no.619

Hello everyone, I am running it close for uploading this card but I had such fun making the card that I wanted to share it with you all.

07 20 Sk Sat 619

Isn’t this sheep adorable 🙂 This is a digi image from a company that is no longer around but it was perfect for the wonderful lady that I was asked to make if for. This card started with a sketch from Sketch Saturday #619.

This time around I followed the sketch quite closely except for the dots – I did 3 instead of 2 but I didn’t have the sketch with me when I was finishing off the card and 3 are what I usually use.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. Before you leave my blog I would love to leave you with this last thought for this post.

July Theme Challenge for 52CCT

Hello Everyone, it is the 3rd week of the month which means that we get to play along with a theme challenge this week over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. And our hostess this month has chosen

July theme

What a wonderful theme to play along with. This can be used in so many different ways.

07 W3 Theme

For my Santa I decided to take him to the Aussie Outback 🙂 He looks like he is having a nice rest after his trip around the world. I had a lot of fun creating this card and I am really pleased with how it came out. The image is a combination of Make it Crafty images and I coloured the shack in the back with my Polychromos Pencils and Santa himself was coloured with a combination of Copic Markers and Polychromos Pencils.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project. I hope that you will stop on by the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge and see what my fellow designers have been up to with this theme. And I hope that you will consider coming and playing along with us. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Sketch Saturday #609

Hello everyone, where does time go? I had planned to upload cards so much earlier than this; I have made cards but I am running out of energy by the end of the day so I am only able to do so little 😦

But anywho onto my card creation, this one took a little while to work out what I was going to use together for this card.

05 13 Mini Me Cake

This image Big Wishes Bean is a retired image from Tiddly Inks but I still like using her as I think the image is adorable. I had actually coloured up this image quite a while ago and when I was looking through my tub of coloured images I noticed that this one suited my patterned paper so well. So a big win win 🙂

But this all started with a sketch. And this time around it is the one from Sketch Saturday #609.

I am really happy with how this turned out even though fitting all of the elements together took a little time. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card creation. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with a last thought for this post.

Even though

Until my next post,

Boy or Girl Card 4 Mum

Hello everyone, as I mentioned in my last post I have a box of images that I have already coloured in with my colouring mediums. I was playing around with some papers that look like watercolour and I liked 2 of them that suited 2 cute Bugaboo images that were sitting in my box.

01 07 Mum Day 2 piece

Aren’t these adorable. I coloured in these images with my Copic markers. Unfortunately, these particular images are no longer available but there are still some really cute baby images over at the Bugaboo Shop. I may have to buy some of these myself but I definitely won’t be not using these anymore. I know that it seems early to be starting Mothers Day Cards but when you donate cards to organisations they need them earlier than the actual date in May.

These cards actually started with the 1st Challenge in January for the Catch The Bug Challenge which is “Anything Goes“. Thanks for stopping in and looking at my double card project. Now before you depart from my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Live It Up Birthday

Hello everyone, it is time to play around with a new sketch. If you have been around on my blog before you will know how much I love using sketches in my card crafting. Over the past couple of weeks, I have been going through some images that I have previously coloured in and I am trying to use these on my projects.

01-07-live-it-up-birthday.jpg

This wonderful tiered cake image from Power Poppy Stamps called “Layered Cake Digital Stamp” was sitting in my box of already coloured stamps. And when I saw this sketch #350 from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge I knew that I was halfway to making a card.

Because I wanted this image to be the star of this card I kept the rest of the colours on the card quite simple. Plus I am trying to use up some of my started 6×6 paper pads so that I can buy some new ones.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. Before you depart from my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

Then others.
