52CCT March Colour Challenge

Hello Everyone,

Well it is week 2 of the month so this means we are having a Colour Challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Challenge. And our host Goga has chosen these colours to play with

This was interesting to play with because I usually play with a lot more colours but this is the card that I came up with for the challenge

I must say that it is hard to photograph metallic colours. I have been wanting to try this design out for a while ever since I got this intricate star die last Christmas and this challenge gave me the perfect opportunity. Mind you this die gave my Cuttlebug a few problems – I am thinking that it is dying!! 😯

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project. Please consider coming on over to our blog and joining in on the fun over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Before you do that I would like to leave you with this thought

Birthday Van

Hello Everyone,
Another creation but this time around it is based on 3 different challenges. I have used a previous challenge but also found two others to play with as well. And this is the creation that I came up with when I mashed all of these together

van-birthday.jpg

And so the challenges I have mashed together are

Make Your Mark with Shopping Our Stash

Buttons/Enamel Dots with Cute Card Thursday

and of course a sketch

TMS 491
The sketch to me looks like it was made for a card for a female but I looked in my stash and I didn’t have a lot of male themed cards. So I decided that I would make a male themed card and I am really pleased with how it turned out. I have again used a stamp set from a magazine that I bought a while ago and it had some papers with it so I decided to use both.

I stamped the van and signpost images on some heavy weight card stock and coloured it in with my Copic markers. Then I used my detail scissors and cut out both images leaving a small white border. Then it was onto the rest of the card. From black paper I cut the base layer using my guillotine and the strip element as well; which I stamped with a tyre track stamp and used some of my brown Distress Inks to give it the look of dirt. To make the circle element I used 2 circle dies taped at the same time and ran this through my Cuttlebug to give the frame element. I placed the van image under the frame and cut around it so it became a part of the frame. Then I built the card using the sketch and placing the signpost in place of the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. I really appreciate all of the likes, comments and visits to my blog. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Doggone Special

Hello Everyone,

I am combining 2 challenges this time around.

and this Sketch Saturday sketch
Sketch Saturday 550Well with this combination this is the card that I came up with.

I had already coloured in this adorable puppy “Scruffy Puppy” by Bugaboo Digi Stamps with my Copic markers. I just added the hearts above his head and added the grass and clouds once I knew what I wanted to do with the image. I printed the sentiment on my computer because I couldn’t find something that I liked.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. Before you go I want to leave you with this thought

Butterfly Wishes

Hello Everyone,

Here is my first card project as a Design Team member for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I am so excited to be a part of this team and to share my creations with you. And here is sketch #303

1 AHSC 303

this is what I did with this sketch

AHSC DT Sketch 303

It was an interesting sketch to work with I had fun playing with it. To get the look of the multi circle element I used my Cuttlebug with 2 circle dies together to make loops I cut this 3 times and then cut 1 apart to get a little more movement in the design.

The papers I used are from an old card making magazine extra that I found in my stash during my move into the area where I now work. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Design Team project. I hope that you will consider joining in on the fun over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

step out 1

I was sure that my work wasn’t good enough to be suitable for being on a design team. I climbed over my wall that told me my work wasn’t good enough … and look where I am now! A question for you – What walls have you built that you could scale today? Even if you aren’t successful this time having the confidence to try something new can work you towards your goal.

February Colour Challenge

Hello Everyone,

The Christmas card that I am sharing today is a little on the simpler side but I am actually liking it a lot. I don’t usually go for this simple but being challenged can push you in different directions. So since this is week 2 of the month it is time for a colour challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Our host Alison has given us this combo to play with

A Colour

and with this as my inspiration this is the card that I made

52CCT wk2 Feb Colour

My Cuttlebug got a bit of a work out making this card first for the cutting of the stars and 2nd for using an embossing folder that I got from a card making magazine last year. To give this simple design a little more interest I added some small holographic silver stickers.

I hope that you will consider coming over to the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge and play along with our latest challenge. Thanks for stopping in to look at my Design Team project. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

rainbow new beginning

I chose this quote because of the floods that have been happening in the northern part of the state I live in. The new beginning hasn’t even been able to start yet because there is still so much uncertainty with the weather. I pray that the clean up can start soon and people will know the way forward from here.

Ode To Jessi

Hello Everyone,

Today I am playing along with the Shop Our Stashes Challenge blog. And they have asked us to go to Jessi’s blog and be inspired by her creative life. So while I was going through her blog I found that she was inspired by sketches. And if you have been around my blog much you know how much I love using sketches for my card designs. So I found this card of Jessi’s and this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches

I loved this sketch but I also loved the colours that Jessi had used in her background so I ended up creating this card

02 09 SOS

In creating this card I got a little bit brave. You see this background is actually a page from a calm colouring book and I have liked this image for quite awhile but wasn’t brave enough to tackle the colouring of it.

I didn’t even photocopy it before I went ahead and did the “ink smooshing” technique! Once I started with Pickled Raspberry, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet Distress Inks onto an acrylic block there was no going back except into the bin if I wasn’t happy with the results. But I really liked how it came out and I think that I may have to try this again with some other pages from colouring books.

I used my Cuttlebug to make the black circle frame before stamping onto some Vellum paper the Happy 80 Birthday using some Lavender ink. I doubled up the vellum so that you could see the stamping a little clearer. I wanted the strip of paper to compliment the mandala of the background and found this paper in my bits drawer and matted it with some black paper. Then I added the washi tape as the last element.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

your fingerprint

Each of us are capable of leaving such an impression on this world. Even before we leave this world. We move to different places or we no longer see people. What will people remember about you?

Sending Christmas Love

Hello everyone. Yes I am back with another card that I have crafted today. I mean what else are you supposed to do when there are storms around the place? Craft of course! Well it helps with not liking storms much I get to concentrate on something else.

But any way onto the reason why you stopped by – my card project

11 Love at Christmas

This card was inspired by the blog Cards in Envy. Their challenge at the moment is Santa Baby and this stamp set is a new acquisition of mine and thought it fitted the challenge. But I wasn’t 100% of how to pull it all together so I went to favourite help – a sketch. And I found this one from the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge in November 2016

52 CCT Nov 2016

The sketch doesn’t come with measurements I have added them later myself but thought others may be interested. Each of the matting layers is cut 5 cm bigger than the measurements given above.

The small squares I used my Cuttlebug and a small stitched square by Uniquely Creative. All the other elements I cut using my paper trimmer. The papers that I used this time around are a 6X6 paper pad called Twig & Berry by Kasiercraft. I stamped the images in My Favourite Things Hybrid Ink and coloured them in with my Copic markers. All of this is matted with black layering weight paper.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. Please consider leaving a comment and liking the post. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this thought for the day

Can not believe that the weekend is almost over as I type this. Where did it go? Now I know why I keep a planner otherwise I wouldn’t be able to keep up with life!

Have a Happy Crafty Planned Kind of Day,
❤ Tracy B
