AHSC no.473

Hello everyone. I am here to share with you my make for the latest sketch that Michelle has designed for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Michelle has designed a square card but I have stretched it to make a portrait A6 sized card.

I had some new products from Australian company Paper Rose Studios to play around with and I am working towards donating cards in September for Fathers Day. I also decided to do a 1 layer card, which is totally not my usual thing, but the products from Paper Rose and the sketch sent me down that path.

To make the panel indicated on the sketch I used the stencil called Lots of Tools and I have coloured them using blending brushes with 2 Distress Inks – Black Soot and Walnut Stain. #coolDad is a sentiment made up of 2 stamps from the Hey Dad clear stamp set. I added some Copper Nuvo Crystal Drops and mounted this panel onto some lightweight black cardstock.

Sometimes going down paths not used often can be a good thing. I am quite pleased with how this turned out and may wonder down this path again in the future. I hope that you will come and participate in the latest sketch challenge over on the AHSC blog.

Until my next post,

Hello everyone. Today I am here to share with you my make using a sketch from Michelle over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

The sketch is set as a slimline design but I don’t make this size; so I changed it to an A6 card. This is something that I love about card sketches; they can be adjusted to the supplies that you have in your craft stash.

The sentiment and image are from 2 different Paper Rose Studio stamp sets that I have just recently purchased. I thought the toolbox image would suit the circle element of the sketch and the smaller sentiment would fit beside it in the same place as the sketch as well. I didn’t have any full sheets left in the paper pad that the two patterned papers came from so I used some Walnut Stain Distress Ink and the Woodgrain Stencil from Tim Holtz on some kraft paper to make one.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design using the AHSC #471 sketch. I hope that you will come and create along with us and show us your creations over on the challenge blog.

Until my next post,

Hello everyone. Are you ready to play along with another fabulous sketch from Michelle from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I love playing along with sketches and here is the latest from AHSC.

AHSC 385 Sept 7th 2020

I must admit that this one stumped me for a little while. But when I made this we were still leading up to Fathers Day here in Australia so I started with having to make this kind of card.

AHSC 385

I have a set of stamps that has images to use on both male and female cards and this set of tools is one of them. I decided to use some of the tools to hang on the line and then I had 2 left over so I put them just above the sentiment. The sentiment stamp comes from a set from Paper Rose Studios and it has some great Dad sentiments. Kasiercraft papers were used for the main elements all layered in brown layering cardstock.

Thanks for coming over to my blog to look at what I did with Michelle’s sketch. I hope that you will pop on over to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog and see what the other designers have been up to. Before you go though I would love to leave you with this las thought for this post.

Hello everyone, I am back with another sketch challenge from Michelle who is the host of the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. If you have been to my blog before you know that I love playing along with sketches and this is the sketch that we get to use this time around.

AHSC 383 Aug 24th 2020

Don’t forget that you can flip this card or even use it in the portrait orientation we really don’t mind. But this is what I made with this sketch.

You may be thinking that it’s a bit late to be making Dad’s Day cards but not here in the southern hemisphere. We don’t actually celebrate Fathers Day until the first Sunday in September. I am making some extras to donate to our Church’s marketplace so that others can send cards to their Dads.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team work for the AHSC this time around. I hope that you will stop on by the blog and see what the other designers have been up to with this sketch. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last image for this post.

Hello everyone, I am here again as a designer for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and we are up to number 379. Had a lot of fun with this sketch from Michelle.

AHSC 379 27 July

I decided that I needed to start making Father’s Day cards as we celebrate this on the first Sunday in September. And I donate cards to my church for sale at their marketplace so I need to start. But this is the card that I came up with using this sketch.

This BBQ Dad image is from another closed Digi image company called Digi Stamp Boutique. But I will still use images in my archives because I bought them and I like using them still and a lot of them I haven’t found anything to really replace them. I coloured this image in using my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils and my Copic Markers. I really like the contrast of using these two mediums together.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project. I hope that you will stop on over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and play along with this sketch. Before you do hop on over their I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
