52CCT July Theme

Hello Everyone,

It is week 3 of June which means it is time to play with a theme to make our Christmas/Winter cards this time around. And this time around Fabiola has chosen this theme

Even though I love these kinds of cards I found that I have been second guessing myself for these past couple of weeks whether what I had made suited this challenge. I don’t know if it is vintage enough … here is my creation

I would really love to know what you think of my creation. Do you think it is vintage enough? I wanted to use a simple design and I am sure that I have used a sketch similar to this in the past but I couldn’t find it to refer too. The paper pack that I used is Twig and Berry by Kasiercraft. This came out a few Christmases ago and I loved it so much at the time that I bought several pads. Now I am trying to work through it all and the emphoria packs that came with it.

Thanks for stopping by today and looking at my Design Team Work for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I hope that you will come on over and play along with our challenge this week. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Hello Everyone,
Today I am here to share with you my Design Team work for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I must admit to this sketch kicking my butt and that is hard for me to admit because if you have seen my posts before you know that I LOVE SKETCHES. So this is the sketch that we got to play around with this week

AHSC 317 May 20th DT

When I first saw it I thought I knew exactly what I was going to do but nothing I tried seemed to come out right. I had to walk away from it for awhile but this is the card that I eventually came up with.

I think that you can still see the elements of the sketch in my final design and I am happy with this outcome. This card turned out to be nearly a 1 layer card except for the black and white tape.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Design Team Work for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I would love to see what you can come up with using Michelle’s sketch. And before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought

Hello Everyone,
Yes I am back with some design team work. This time around it is for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. And this is the sketch that we go to have a play with

AHSC 313 April 22nd DT

And this is the card that I came up with using this sketch.

AHSC 313

As you can see I have actually reversed and inverted the sketch. The reason that I did this was because of the drum image on my base paper. I had found this sentiment and then I found this paper so I went with the elements and they dictated how this card turn out.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my design team work. I hope that you will come over to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and join in with the fun. But before you go I would like to leave you with this thought.

52CCT April Colour Challenge

Hello Everyone,

And today being week 2 of April we have a Colour Challenge brought to us by EK and for her colour choices for us to play along with we have

When this was first announced I must say that it took me a while to decide on the metallic to use and the colour to go along with it. But finally the choice was made for me by the design of the card that I made

This combination of embossing folder, rectangle die and scene die made my choices for me. Because it is such a regal scene I went with a regal combination of colours. Or at least to me they are. But I did notice that once I was putting the whole card together that I didn’t quite centre up the scene in the cut window.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Design Team creation. I hope that we will see you over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge Blog and come play along with us. Before you go though I would like to leave you with this thought

52CCT March Theme

Hello Everyone,

Today is week 3 of the month and this is Theme Challenge week over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge. Goga has given this theme to play along with

I search through my entire Christmas stash and I don’t have any Gingerbread in there. So I went looking online for a free image as I couldn’t afford to buy a new digi image at the moment even though they are a great price. But I found an image I was able to work with and this is what I made

To give a little more life to my image I found this piping bag and chef hat that fit my image perfectly. I used a cover up die that I have had for a while to make the background because I couldn’t really find papers that I was 100% happy. I used several brown Distress Inks on the frame because I thought that it looked a little like baked goods.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project. Hope to see you around the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge some time. And before you go please consider leaving a like or a comment. Also let me leave you with this thought before you go

Until Next Time,

AHSC 307

Hello Everyone,
Another wonderful sketch from Michelle over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge for us all to play along with.

AHSC 307 March 11th DT

I decided to go down the clean and simple route or at least for me it is! And this is what I came up with

AHSC 307

To create this card I cut the image panel first but instead of cutting individual rectangle like indicated on the sketch I decided to go down another route. I taped the main panel to a board that I keep to do sponging work on and then I created the “window” pattern with more tape. I chose a stencil from my collection and then I used my Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks with sponge daubers. I used the Salty Ocean around the edge of the main panel and Mowed Lawn around the sentiment circle.

When putting the card together I cut some foam and put this under the scalloped circle just to give a little height. To give the sentiment a little more depth I cut it out a 2nd time so that I could stamp it in another colour and use the distress ink for a little bit of difference.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Design Team project. I really appreciate all of the likes, comments and visits to my blog. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought.

52CCT March Colour Challenge

Hello Everyone,

Well it is week 2 of the month so this means we are having a Colour Challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Challenge. And our host Goga has chosen these colours to play with

This was interesting to play with because I usually play with a lot more colours but this is the card that I came up with for the challenge

I must say that it is hard to photograph metallic colours. I have been wanting to try this design out for a while ever since I got this intricate star die last Christmas and this challenge gave me the perfect opportunity. Mind you this die gave my Cuttlebug a few problems – I am thinking that it is dying!! 😯

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project. Please consider coming on over to our blog and joining in on the fun over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Before you do that I would like to leave you with this thought

Until Next Time,
