May Theme Challenge for 52CCT

Hello everyone, we are up to the 3rd week in May and this is the week that we have a theme challenge. This challenge took me a little while to come up with because I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to choose.

03 May theme

So I ended up going with Silhouette because I was looking through what I had in my craft space and I found some long unused stamps in my stash. So I used some of those stamps on my project.

05 Wk3 Theme

I am really pleased with how this turned out. It is definitely more on the simple side of design but sometimes using just a few supplies together makes a beautiful project. The gold dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops are actually to hide a couple of boo-boos. I haven’t gotten my sand eraser yet to be able to fix these so I decided to embellish what I couldn’t fix. I was too far into the project to throw it all away.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project for the Theme challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I hope that you will come over and look at what the other designers did with my challenge and then consider joining in on the fun. But before you do that I would love to leave you with this last thought for this post.

I know that if I stuff up a craft project I can usually start again … this isn’t always possible in real life.

Until my next post,
❤ Tracy

52CCT November Theme

Hello everyone, can you believe we are halfway through November already! This year seems to be whizzing by at a great rate of knots before we all know it we will all be singing Christmas Carols and seeing family.

But anyway onto the challenge this week over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge and this week we have a theme to make our cards with and this time the theme is

03 Theme

I must admit to being a little stumped each time with the theme challenges. But when I read this one I knew the exact image that I was going to use so this is where I started. And this is the card that I came up with

52CCT 11 2019 wk3 Theme

Isn’t this image just the most adorable and so suits the theme this week. This is Candy Cane Cupcake by Bugaboo Digital Designs. I coloured this image in with my Copic Markers and glued the image to some gold paper and cut around the image. The background papers are from my stash of Christmas papers and I think that these particular ones have been in there a couple of years.

I thought that the striped paper reminded me of a candy cane and then I found this small piece of candy cane paper. These papers I backed with some navy blue cardstock and on the strips of candy cane paper, I added some green glitter pinstripe stickers by Love from Lizi. Then added a sentiment sticker as well as some gold holographic circle stickers to finish of this card.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project. I hope that you will take some time and come on over and join in with us for this challenge. Before you go from my blog I would like to leave you with this thought to ponder on.

Until the next post,
Work your decisions.

52CCT Septemeber Technique Challenge

Hello everyone, it is the 4th week in September so we are looking at either a Stash or Technique Challenge and Myra has chosen for it to be a technique challenge. And the technique that we all have to play along with is …

04 Technique

I must admit that I don’t do a lot of different fold cards. I use to do them quite a bit but I think that because I have been donating a lot of my cards I now do mostly flat. But this is the card that I made for this challenge.

Aren’t these mice adorable! These guys have been hanging out in my stash for quite a while because I just couldn’t find the right design for them. You see this image was part of a set to be used for making 3D cards. I don’t make these cards usually and they came as part of a kit so they have been sitting in my stash and I thought that I would never use them. But I dug through my favourite sketches and found one that first could be used for an easel card and 2nd for these cute critters. And this is the sketch that I used

Once I found the sketch and it had an oval in the design I used the main image from the 3D set and cut the oval out with a die but this cut off the parts of the mice on either side. So to make these guys full again I used one of the layering pieces and cut these out and put them over the oval. Before I cut them out I put some double-sided tape from a large roll on the back so that when I cut them out I could make sure I could fully secure them. The sentiment on the inside was part of the kit as was the paper that I have used.

Thanks for dropping on by and looking at my Design Teamwork for the Technique challenge over at 52CCT. I hope that you will come on over and play along with us. Before you go from my blog I want to leave you with this final thought

when you live with chronic pain, you learn to make room for pain, that doesn't mean it's gone. This is just a heads up – I will be blogging about my other life – (my walk between being well and not being able to do much at all) – on this blog. I have decided not to hide this side of me anymore. It is a part of me and it’s a part of my story.

Until next time, find your happy and do it,
❤ Tracy B

52CCT September Sketch Challenge

Hello Everyone,
Can you believe that we are already in September!
It is the first week of the month which means 2 things
1. we have a new Hostess for the month and this time it is Myrna
and 2. it is sketch week.
If you have seen my other blog you will know how much I love sketches. They are one of my favourite things to use in my craft room. And this is the sketch that we have had fun playing with

and this is the card that I came up with using this sketch.

Oh, I am so in love with these gnome stamps. This time around I decided to put him somewhere other than the snow. I am really happy with the little scene that I made.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team card. I hope that you will come on over to the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog and play along with us. Before you go I would like to leave you with the last thought for this post.

52CCT August Colour

Hello Everyone,

It is the 2nd week of the month and over at 52 Christmas Card Challenge
Netta has chosen this colour combo for us to play with.

I must admit that this colour combination was a bit difficult for me to get my head around. But this is the card that I came up with.

When I started making this card I looked through my stash; I found that I didn’t have any craft products that suited so this meant a trip to my local big box craft store. I was lucky to find this bronze coloured tape but no papers in these colours. So I decided to make my own using a set of Layered Stencils to make a plaid background paper. I am not sure if I like this set of stencils but this is my first time using this particular set so I will have to play with different colour combos to make my final assessment.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team creation. I hope that you will come on over to 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and participate in the challenge. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought.

February Theme Challenge

Hello Everyone,

It’s the 3rd week of the month and over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge this means it’s Theme Challenge time. And our hostess this month Alison has suggested this theme

I must say that I always find winter theme cards a challenge. Because where I live in Australia we don’t really have a winter … well we do but nothing that needs snow gear unless we travel down to the south of our country. So I had to dig through my stamp stash to see what I could find because I don’t really buy this theme either. But I did find something suitable and this is the card I came up with.

52CCT wk3 Feb Theme

I am quite happy with how this came together. Even though I didn’t use traditional colours at all for this card I thought the pink, blue and purples lent to the winter theme. I used my embossing supplies to give this poor leafless tree a slight covering of snow. Using my white gel pen I added some snow to the background of the “photo” which I had coloured using my Distress Inks.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and having a look at my Design Team Submission. I hope to see you over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. Before you go I want to leave you with this thought

I love the advice from a tree. These things are quite good for humans to remember as well. I sometimes forget to do some of these thing actually.

Until Next Time,

Butterfly Wishes

Hello Everyone,

Here is my first card project as a Design Team member for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I am so excited to be a part of this team and to share my creations with you. And here is sketch #303

1 AHSC 303

this is what I did with this sketch

AHSC DT Sketch 303

It was an interesting sketch to work with I had fun playing with it. To get the look of the multi circle element I used my Cuttlebug with 2 circle dies together to make loops I cut this 3 times and then cut 1 apart to get a little more movement in the design.

The papers I used are from an old card making magazine extra that I found in my stash during my move into the area where I now work. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Design Team project. I hope that you will consider joining in on the fun over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

step out 1

I was sure that my work wasn’t good enough to be suitable for being on a design team. I climbed over my wall that told me my work wasn’t good enough … and look where I am now! A question for you – What walls have you built that you could scale today? Even if you aren’t successful this time having the confidence to try something new can work you towards your goal.

Until Next Time,
Tracy B
