Card Project, Cards and Craft, Challenge Entry

Birthday Greeting

Hello everyone. This afternoon I have had the opportunity to get into my craft room to do both some crafting and some computer work as well. First onto my card creation and it started with a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Tuesday Morning Sketch #641

I didn’t 100% follow the sketch but the reason for this is that I wanted to make a card with the 2nd half of my image that I used on my “Thinking of You” card that I shared last week. Plus also the paper pad that I had on my desk worked with the colours that I had used in the image. I had coloured this image in with my Copic Markers before cutting the first part of the image. This sketch suited the piece that I had leftover. To give a little definition to the image I used some Love From Lizi Gold Glitter Pin Stripe Peel Offs. And some Gold Star Stickers from my stash; not sure who made these.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card made with the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. Before you depart I want to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

Thinking Of You

Hello everyone. I have been able to get into my craft space and make some cards and I have 2 cards made for the same set of challenges. I must admit that making more of 1 card design in 1 sitting is very unusual for me. But I loved the sketch and the challenges that were put together that I made 2 cards.

Use 3 different patterns on your project for Double Trouble.

The 3 different patterns weren’t a problem for me and I loved the sketch. This is what I did with these challenges.

I had to change the placement of the sentiment as I cut and placed the papers before I checked the sketch sitting on my computer. The sentiment strip from the Black & White Sentiment Sheets from Paper Rose Studio even though thin wouldn’t have fitted.

The image is called Vintage Anglers/Fishermen by Delicious Doodles on Etsy is a digital image. This comes as a Black and White image but I decided to add some colour to it using my Copic Markers. Because of the size that I printed this image; I actually have the other half to use on another card. The colours I chose were in relation to the papers that I chose to use for the card.

Thanks for stopping in and having a look at my card design for this combo of different challenges. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

52CCT April 2021 Technique Challenge

04 2021 Wk4 Technique

Hello eveyone, we are here at the last challenge for April and this means that our hostess Branka was able to choose between a Technique or Stash Challenge. And we have

Branka has asked us over on the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge to only use stamping on our cards this time around – so no commercially printed papers.

To make this card with no commercially printed papers I decided to make my own 😉 using one of my favourite digital stamps from Bugaboo called “Christmas Tree Word Art” and this stamp makes for a quick make when you use it as a single stamp. Once I printed 2 copies of this page out I went about making a card based on the technique of Triple Time Stamping. Usually you would cut your panels and then temporally stick them together and then do the stamping. I thought that this would be an opportunity to show off this one stamp and maybe show you something different to use your pre-coloured digital images.

But since I was using digital stamps I printed 2 copies of the panel that I had made and then started the cutting using a die set from Paper Rose Studio called “Stitched Rectangle Australian Sized Nesting Dies”. I used the 3rd largest and the 4th smallest dies. Then layered each rectangle onto maroon layering cardstock and stuck each layer together carefully matching up the printed design with the layer below. Then I went through the Crisp Christmas Sentiment Sheets from Paper Rose Studio and found a sentiment that looked right just sitting by itself without a separate layer.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my design team make for the 52CCT Technique Challenge for April. I hope that you will go and visit the other designers blogs and see how they made their cards and then consider coming and joining in on the fun and uploading your makes to our blog. Before you go off and do that though I would love to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

Stella Says Sketch no.904

04 24th SSS904

Hello everyone. Playing in my craft room this afternoon but this time with a more urgent purpose. I have my husbands nephew’s 21st Birthday Party lunch time tomorrow and we have a long drive before that so no time tomorrow to make.

I have to be honest and say that making cards for the males is my hardest task. But when I’m faced with something like this then I go to my favourite thing – that being using a sketch as a starting point. I looked through some sketches and found this one being run by Bugaboo and the Stella Says Sketch team. I couldn’t find anything suitable for a 21st birthday card centered around bikes as my nephew loves all things bikes I decided to use the sketch as my starting point.

Then I went in search of a paper pad and image that I could use. I found a half used paper pad that had some interesting outdoor type papers and then I found an old advertising sign on the web which had no license attached and it was for a favourite brand of motorcycle … perfect!

The banner I made in my card printing program and coloured it up with some Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Everything was put onto some brown layering cardstock all of this was added to the front of a top folded card base. The black dots were made using my Ebony Black Nuvo Drops. This card came together better than I was expecting.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card make for the Stella Says Sketch no.904 challenge. Before you go I want to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

AHSC no.415

Hello everyone. Hope that you are having a great Easter. As this goes live on my blog it is Easter Monday so the last day of our long weekend. We have been busy with getting things sorted in my new craft space (see previous post for more details) but I am still working out where everything is going. I suspect that this will be going on for a while to come yet. But at least I do have a space to be crafting in again even if it is a work in progress.

But any who onto this weeks make. I am here with a card for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #415

As you can see this is a great sketch to have a lot of fun with. It does have a bunny but you don’t have to use a bunny he is just a place holder for an element.

AHSC 415

As I said up top I am in the middle of setting up my craft space and I don’t have access to everything yet and this includes my paper pads. So what is a designer to do … hmmm … well I decided to make my own paper with some digital images from Graciellie Designs. I came across her wonderful designs just before we had to pack up for renovations. But this problem gave me the perfect opportunity to use some of her designs. I used the 2 takeaway cups and one of the included sentiments from the Spring Coffee Cup Mega Digital Stamp Set. Using these 2 different cups I set up a grid pattern just a little wider than my card front; on the same sheet of paper I included one of the flower cups just a little bigger (one of the advantages of digital images) and the sentiment and printed these out on my laser printer.

I coloured in the larger cup with my Polychromos pencils and fussy cut this image to be my element on the card. With my Tim Holtz Guillotine Trimmer I cut the cup panel down to the correct size for my card front mounting this on black lightweight cardstock. Then I found some purple and red cardstocks that was a coordinating shade with the flowers on the cup. I cut some more black cardstock for both the colour layers but used my We R Memory Keepers Multi Cut Trimmer to put a wavy edge onto both pieces. And the sentiment was mounted onto black cardstock as well but first I added Love From Lizi Pin Stripe Stickers to the bottom before mounting it.

Making this card with limited supplies was quite fun but I will be happy when I had full access to my supplies again. Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will come and play along with us and show us what you make with this design. Before you go off and do that though I would like to leave you with this final thought for this post.

This is sometimes the hardest thing to do but also the most important.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

AHSC no.403

Hello everyone; how is your 2021 starting out? Well as I am typing this Brisbane, Queensland, Australia is in a 3 day lockdown … it finishes tonight but then new restrictions come into place for the next 10 days and then everything will be reviewed again. So this lockdown has given me the opportunity to get into my craft space and have some fun with my supplies.

Any who onto the main reason probably for you to stop on by my blog to see my Design Team make for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

AHSC 403 Jan 11th 2021

I didn’t have access to the same shape for the sentiment but I did have something that I had coloured in over the new year period.

AHSC 403

All of these papers are from a paper pack that I have been working through. I am loving all of the different types of cards that I have been able to make with it so far. It feels good to be using up items from my stash that way I can add new items to it. I used some Black Nuvo drops as well these are new to my supplies but I am really liking them.

The image block is actually made up from 2 different digi images. The Spring Couple is a retired image from CC Designs and the border stamp was a freebie from a card making magazine that I got quite a few years ago but its still a favourite because you can put any sentiment into the banner so its very adaptable.

Thanks for stopping on in and looking at my card design for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. We would love for you to come on over and play along with our sketch. Before you go off to do that I want to leave you with this last thought for this post…

A good way to look at things especially in these uncertain times.

Stella Says Sketch no.816

Hello everyone, I was able to have some fun with some images that I actually won last Christmas from Meljen Digi Stamps. I am so happy with how this turned out. I wasn’t sure when I first started but I loved playing with Stella’s sketch.

This is the card that I came up with using this sketch. Stella Says Sketch #816.

These reindeers are just so adorable I wanted to make sure that I used them in a project this year. Then I also found this great paper that just bought everything together.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and looking at my card design. I am so happy with how this all came together and now I have another card to add to my collection for this year. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

MOJO no.546

Hello everyone, I have been fortunate to be able to get into my craft space in the last couple of days which has been nice. I have been working through another paper pad that has been sitting in my stash for quite a number of years. This time around it is a Christmas paper pad called Christmas Carol by Kasiercraft.

As you may know if you have been to my blog before I love working with card sketches because I see them as maps on how to put a card together. I may not fully follow the sizes but you can always see the sketch was my starting point. This card was no different – I went to one of my favourite sketch sites intending on using a previous sketch but Julie had uploaded a new sketch so I have gone with that instead.

Using this sketch, Mojo Monday #546, as my starting point this is the Christmas card that I came up with.

09 24 Mojo546

The images Birgitta and Presents are 2 separate digi images from a company called All That Scraps but they are no longer in business but I still love these images. The presents digi I love using with images from lots of different companies because they can be used for lots of different occasions. To colour in these images I used my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils, I am still getting used to using these pencils and I love using them.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and having a look at my card creation. I hope to put more posts up that are of my other crafting and not just my design team work. Before you depart from my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

AHSC no.383

Hello everyone, I am back with another sketch challenge from Michelle who is the host of the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. If you have been to my blog before you know that I love playing along with sketches and this is the sketch that we get to use this time around.

AHSC 383 Aug 24th 2020

Don’t forget that you can flip this card or even use it in the portrait orientation we really don’t mind. But this is what I made with this sketch.

AHSC 383

You may be thinking that it’s a bit late to be making Dad’s Day cards but not here in the southern hemisphere. We don’t actually celebrate Fathers Day until the first Sunday in September. I am making some extras to donate to our Church’s marketplace so that others can send cards to their Dads.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team work for the AHSC this time around. I hope that you will stop on by the blog and see what the other designers have been up to with this sketch. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last image for this post.

TSOT no.467

Hello everyone, today has been so windy outside that I have retreated into my craft space because this weather is playing havoc with my health 😦 So going into my craft space is a diversion tactic for me – get my mind onto something else other than my health. I decided that I would make some cards. Some I can share now but some will be coming up in design teamwork. So onto one that I can share now.

07 27 TSOT 467

And this card started with a sketch from Try Stampin’ On Tuesday #467.

Isn’t this a fun sketch to play around with. With this sketch came an optional theme of making a scene. I decided to go with the optional theme as well because I had started colouring up this image and just added a few more details. The gum tree to the left and the dunny (toilet) are digi images from Make it Crafty who are no longer in business but I still use these images because I still like using them. The scene has been coloured in with my Polychromos Pencils.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. I hope that you are having a great day. Before you depart my blog I want to leave you with this final thought for this post.

Even on my bad days I try to find the good … even if it is a little harder sometimes.

Until my next post,
