Stay Unique

Hello Everyone,
I loved the combination of the challenges from my previous post that I actually made a 2nd card to share with you all.

I used the same line again as well which was Animal(s) & Friendship Sentiment & Dry Embossing/Scoring.

The 2 pieces of patterned paper are from the same paper pad as my previous card as well but you would think that they weren’t with them being so different. This time though I cut a piece of Lavendar lightweight cardstock to just a bit bigger than the card front and ran this through my Gemini Jnr using an embossing folder. I wanted the design to stand out a little more so I used a large ink blending foam and some Sweet Plum Memento Ink. I also used this ink to stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set as the unicorn. The unicorn I stamped with Black Hybrid Ink from My Favorite Things as this ink allows me to colour with either Copics or Pencils. In this case, I used my Copic markers.

When putting this card together I did add paper shims under a lot of the elements just to help it all stick and stay level on top of the embossed panel. For the embossed panel, I used some wider double-sided tape to make sure I had enough contact points with the mat layer. Once I had all of the elements together I add some gold circle holographic stickers from my stash just to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping in to look at my card using the 2 challenges together again. Before you leave my blog I would love to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

May Stash Technique Challenge for 52CCT

Hello everyone, I am here with my last hostess duty for May as it is time for a Technique or Stash Challenge for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I have had so much fun hosting the challenges during May and I want to thank everyone who joined in over the month.

So any way onto this weeks challenge. As I said it was a choice between Stash and Technique and I chose

04 May technique

Well, technically this is a both Stash and Technique challenge because we are digging into our stash to find those long ago bought embossing folders which I am sure haven’t been used lately to do this technique. Or you could be digging into your embossing powder stash to find just the right colour to now use for this technique. See what I mean about it being really about both 🙂

05 Wk4 Stash Tech

The background I embossed with a folder that I have loved for a long time because it reminded me of the flowers I see in Australia during Christmas. And then I coloured it with my watercolours and highlighted certain areas with darker pen. The sentiment is actually the combination of 2 stamp sets a Birthday set for the Happy and a Christmas set for the Christmas Greetings.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Stash/Technique Card for the challenge happening over at the 52CCT. I hope that you will pop on over to the blog and see what the other design team have gotten up to this week. And maybe consider joining in on the fun with your own project. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Not as much in my craft room after I have been making different types of cards for the past couple of months.

Until my next post,
😀 Tracy

52CCT April Colour Challenge

Hello Everyone,

And today being week 2 of April we have a Colour Challenge brought to us by EK and for her colour choices for us to play along with we have

When this was first announced I must say that it took me a while to decide on the metallic to use and the colour to go along with it. But finally the choice was made for me by the design of the card that I made

This combination of embossing folder, rectangle die and scene die made my choices for me. Because it is such a regal scene I went with a regal combination of colours. Or at least to me they are. But I did notice that once I was putting the whole card together that I didn’t quite centre up the scene in the cut window.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Design Team creation. I hope that we will see you over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge Blog and come play along with us. Before you go though I would like to leave you with this thought

Be confident God is always with you

52CCT March Technique

Hello Everyone,
I am here today with our 4th Challenge for March which is a technique challenge. Goga has asked us to do the following

04 technique.png

I was pretty sure that I had some folders that would suit this challenge as this is craft item is one of my favourite items to buy. And this is the card that I came up with

52CCT 03 2019 wk4 Stash.JPG

I was first going to go with an embossing folder that had words on it but once I put my Old World Santa image from Bugaboo Digi Images it just didn’t look right. So then I searched through my collection of embossing folders and I found this one by Craft Concepts called Secret Garden which I thought looked like Christmas Berries so I went with it. I decided to keep the card pretty simple this time around because I wanted to keep the focus on the embossing.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team work for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. Please consider coming over and participating in this weeks challenge. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

February Theme Challenge

Hello Everyone,

It’s the 3rd week of the month and over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge this means it’s Theme Challenge time. And our hostess this month Alison has suggested this theme

I must say that I always find winter theme cards a challenge. Because where I live in Australia we don’t really have a winter … well we do but nothing that needs snow gear unless we travel down to the south of our country. So I had to dig through my stamp stash to see what I could find because I don’t really buy this theme either. But I did find something suitable and this is the card I came up with.

52CCT wk3 Feb Theme

I am quite happy with how this came together. Even though I didn’t use traditional colours at all for this card I thought the pink, blue and purples lent to the winter theme. I used my embossing supplies to give this poor leafless tree a slight covering of snow. Using my white gel pen I added some snow to the background of the “photo” which I had coloured using my Distress Inks.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and having a look at my Design Team Submission. I hope to see you over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. Before you go I want to leave you with this thought

I love the advice from a tree. These things are quite good for humans to remember as well. I sometimes forget to do some of these thing actually.

February Colour Challenge

Hello Everyone,

The Christmas card that I am sharing today is a little on the simpler side but I am actually liking it a lot. I don’t usually go for this simple but being challenged can push you in different directions. So since this is week 2 of the month it is time for a colour challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Our host Alison has given us this combo to play with

A Colour

and with this as my inspiration this is the card that I made

52CCT wk2 Feb Colour

My Cuttlebug got a bit of a work out making this card first for the cutting of the stars and 2nd for using an embossing folder that I got from a card making magazine last year. To give this simple design a little more interest I added some small holographic silver stickers.

I hope that you will consider coming over to the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge and play along with our latest challenge. Thanks for stopping in to look at my Design Team project. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

rainbow new beginning

I chose this quote because of the floods that have been happening in the northern part of the state I live in. The new beginning hasn’t even been able to start yet because there is still so much uncertainty with the weather. I pray that the clean up can start soon and people will know the way forward from here.

Until Next Time,

All My Love

Hello Everyone,
It is so good to be back in my craft space and creating again. Do you ever get withdrawal symptoms when you stop doing what you usually do for awhile? I got this way over the past couple of weeks. I have been crafting but not really sharing but now I am back into it again.

Anywho onto the reason yo stopped by my creation 🙂

01 04 all my love

This card is digging into my stash in a big way. These papers have been in there since my daughter was little and she is going back to Uni to do her Masters! So you can tell how long these papers have been around.

The card started it’s journey first by finding two challenges from 2 of my favourite places to visit. Time Out Challenge with a theme of Loving and Cute Card Thursday – Anything Goes. But if you have been to my blog before you will know that I love to use sketches to help me figure out placements and I used Freshly Made Sketch  #207

fms 207

As you can see from the sketch to my card they don’t quite match up – this is because of the papers that I had in my stash. I have just flipped the width measurements to make it fit the products that I had. I added the embossed heart which I coloured with some Distress Inks so I had a place for my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. I would love to know that you stopped on by so please consider leaving either a like or a comment. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought

proud of who you are, what you do, difference you make

I think that this is a fabulous way to live. I am going to try to remember this more during the coming year.

Hot Air Balloon Birthday

Hello everyone. The card I am sharing with you today is a type of card that I find hard to make. Male themed birthday cards! I don’t know why these type of cards are hard but they are.  I think I pulled it off with the card that I have made and here it is

The making of this card came about because of the team at Shopping Our Stash Weekly. Their challenge this week is

and then I wanted to design from a sketch and I found this one

The first thing I did was scavenge through my craft supplies to see what I could use and I found an embossing folder with this Hot Air Balloon as part of the scene. I thought it would go well with the masculine theme. Along with the embossing folder the set also came with these boot prints which I used as the 3 elements on the sketch.

After embossing the Hot Air image I coloured it in with my Copics.  Then I found some papers that suited this perfectly. It was a 6X6  paper pad called “Up and Away” by Kasiercraft. On the balloon paper I stamped the words relax & enjoy, it’s your day in Kraft coloured ink. Then I also cut some strips of paper from the paper pack and sponged some Rusty Hinge Distress Ink around the edge. I put some foam tape under the boot prints just to give them a little height. I matted each of the main layers with some Maroon layering paper and put it all together.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project today. Please consider giving my blog a like or even leaving a comment. And as always I would like to leave you with this thought for today

Oh this is so true. I had forgotten this for quite a while. After everything that myself and my family had been through in the past little while … I had forgotten that no matter the size of the progress at least it is progress. And I can see that I am further forward than I was even just a couple of months ago.

Have a Happy Crafty Progressive Kind of Day,

Sketch Experiment

Hello Everyone,
Today I am bringing you a twist on a sketch. If you been reading my blog for awhile you will know that I love using sketches as a starting point for my cards.  Well I also love playing along with the challenges at both Shopping Our Stash – their challenge is to create with Butterflies and at the Cards in Envy Challenge; this time around they have a 1 layer challenge going on and this made me ask a question.

“Could I make a 1 layer card using a card sketch?”
Of course it would have to be the right sketch to do this experiment with but would it really be possible? And sketch #512 from Sketch Saturday looked like a possible candidate.

So the challenges I have chosen to combine these challenges

Once I found these challenges I then had to go looking for an image that I could use in this experiment. So I went looking in my images and found Pure Prairie Bouquet by Power Poppy and I thought it would work well.  So I printed out the digital image and then set to work on how to turn this sketch into a 1 layer card. And this is the result:
spotlight-card.jpgI am really happy with how this turned out. I hope that you like my interpretation on the sketch. The circular element I coloured with my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils and I used a warm grey pencil around the outside of the image to give the illusion of a layer being their.  I heat embossed the 70 with some black glitter powder and I called the card finished.

Thanks again for stopping by and looking at my project. Please let me know what you thought of my take on the sketch and keeping it to 1 layer.  And as always before you go I want to leave you with this thought:
Image result for butterfly quotesChange is hard but it’s necessary. We don’t like going through any kind of change but I think at least 95% of the time we are the better for it.

Have a Happy Blessed Crafty Kind of Day,
