Atlantic Hearts #368

Hello everyone, I hope that you are finding some time to get into your craft space or to use your craft supplies in some way. I am having to work around the limitations that I have with my frozen shoulder. So when I am able to get into my space I try to make the most of it.

I decided this time around I would play with a sketch and make a card that made me smile. And this is the card that I made.

05 13 Alpaca Cake

So I looked at the half-used paper pad that was sitting on my craft desk and wanted to use more of it up. So these colours led to the colouring of the Alpaca in the image. But of course, all of this started with a sketch. Atlantic Hearts Sketch #368

This was a fun sketch to play around with. I couldn’t find a bird image that I liked to use for this sketch but I still wanted to participate in the sketch challenge. Hope it was okay not to use a bird image. I have always loved this stamp set; it always puts a smile on my face whenever I use it. I love the sentiments that are included.

As I mentioned before I decided on a paper pad to use before I coloured this image so I was able to match some for the blanket and cake. I used a grass die to give the Alpaca something to stand on – when I first put him onto the cake he looked a little weird because he looked like he was floating in the air.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this final thought for this post.

Natural, White and Gold

Hello everyone, yes I am back card crafting and writing posts again despite my shoulder. I have been told by the professionals around me that I am not to baby my shoulder and to use it despite the pain it is causing at the moment. So I am doing what I love to do … craft!!

Anywho onto this card project. This card was inspired by 2 challenges – one a card sketch and the other a colour challenge. And this is the card that I made

11 23 Gold White Brown

And these are the 2 challenges that I am entering. First off the sketch from Mojo Monday #527 –

and then the colour challenge with The Daring Cardmakers – Natural, Gold and White

Taking the inspiration of the Natural I decided that I would use papers that depicted the natural environment – like browns and leaves and then I added in Gold and White elements. This paper pack has featured in a couple of my cards lately because it has been sitting on my desk from that last time that it was used. I hope that you like my interpretation of the theme.

Thanks for stopping in on my blog today. I hope that you find it both fun and maybe gets some inspiration as well. I really appreciate all of the likes and comments that my posts have been receiving lately. Before you leave my blog let me inspire you with this quote I found.

Only Jesus is worthy to be praised :)

Until my next post,
Keep moving forward always.

Butterfly Birthday

Hello everyone, I loved the look of the sketch that Julie made from Mojo Monday that I decided that I had to attempt to make a card even despite my shoulder restrictions at the moment. And this is the card that I came up with

11-21-butterfly-birthday.jpg

And this is the sketch #527 from Mojo Monday that started this whole card making session.

MojoSketch527_600

My card ended up being a little bit different but it’s only missing the bow because I used washi tape instead of ribbon as I couldn’t find anything that would suit. I was going for a more masculine type of card – I think that I succeeded but I’m not 100% sure. What do you think? These papers have been in my stash for such a long time waiting for me to find the right project for them.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project today. I appreciate all of the comments and likes on my posts. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on.

Until the next post,

52CCT November Theme

Hello everyone, can you believe we are halfway through November already! This year seems to be whizzing by at a great rate of knots before we all know it we will all be singing Christmas Carols and seeing family.

But anyway onto the challenge this week over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge and this week we have a theme to make our cards with and this time the theme is

03 Theme

I must admit to being a little stumped each time with the theme challenges. But when I read this one I knew the exact image that I was going to use so this is where I started. And this is the card that I came up with

52CCT 11 2019 wk3 Theme

Isn’t this image just the most adorable and so suits the theme this week. This is Candy Cane Cupcake by Bugaboo Digital Designs. I coloured this image in with my Copic Markers and glued the image to some gold paper and cut around the image. The background papers are from my stash of Christmas papers and I think that these particular ones have been in there a couple of years.

I thought that the striped paper reminded me of a candy cane and then I found this small piece of candy cane paper. These papers I backed with some navy blue cardstock and on the strips of candy cane paper, I added some green glitter pinstripe stickers by Love from Lizi. Then added a sentiment sticker as well as some gold holographic circle stickers to finish of this card.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project. I hope that you will take some time and come on over and join in with us for this challenge. Before you go from my blog I would like to leave you with this thought to ponder on.

Until the next post,
Work your decisions.

52CCT November Colour

Hello everyone, here we are with the 2nd-week challenge for November. And as things go this means we are up to having a colour challenge. And the colours that we get to play around with are …

02 Colour

Now, these are fabulous colours, definitely not the usual colours used for Christmas. If you know me you would be aware that I love Purple – I wear it almost every day and most of my accessories are in a shade of this colour. So knowing all of this you would think that I would have this colour in my paper stash. Well not really … here is my card and then I will explain

52CCT 11 2019 wk2 Colour

I have layering cardstock in purple and I have a paper pad with purple elements but it definitely doesn’t suit Christmas. So when I printed this cute Christmas Teddy Present image by Bugaboo Digital Images (available here) I found this purple star paper that I put behind the image before printing. I coloured in the image with my Copic markers staying with the V and BV families except for the Teddy and Santa Hat 😉 For the other paper I used a stencil which I thought looked like a sweater design and my Wilted Violet Distress Ink and make-up brush applicator. I was lucky to have a purple ink in my stash which I used to stamp my sentiment and turned the strip into a banner and this finished off my card for this challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Design Team project. I really appreciate all of the likes and comments that my posts have been getting, Thanks. Before you go from my blog today I would like to leave you with this thought to ponder on.

Until we next meet,
Get lost in a book.

Hello Happy Birthday

Hello everyone, today I am sharing with you a card that I got to make. I made it using the paper pad that was sitting on my desk from the previous card and a new sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

11 03 Apple Birthday

And here is the sketch that I used #340 from AHSC

As you can see I flipped the sketch – I did this because of the elements that I had. The sentiment flag was a pre-printed one and I couldn’t change the orientation so I went with what I had. The checked element is some washi tape that I have in my stash. Most of my elements have been backed with green lightweight cardstock.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. I appreciate all of the likes and comments that my posts have been receiving 🙂 Before you go from my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on.

Digital Stamps, Handmade Cards, Thank You

Thanks, Ms. Rachel

Hello everyone, yes I am back with a card project (((insert happy dance))). I made this card for 2 reasons. 1. my daughter requested a Thank You card and 2. most of the challenge sites I usually play along with were hosting Halloween challenges and I don’t do this holiday. But I decided to share my card make anyway because I was so happy to be able to do some crafting again after all the stuff that’s been going on. If you want to know more about this please see my previous post.

My daughter asked me to make her a Thank You card for the Teacher that has been supervising her for her Teacher Prep. This is where student teachers (my daughter) go into a classroom and teach classes and are assessed on their performance by the teacher (Ms. Rachel) who usually teaches that class. My daughter has been in Ms. Rachel’s class for the past month and tomorrow is her last day with her. She has really enjoyed working with Ms. Rachel. And this is the card that I made for her to give to her.

10 31 Art Mug

The artist mug image is from Meljen’s Digital Designs; I love using this image for the artistic people in my world – it suits so many occasions. The paper comes from a pad by Kasiercraft called “The Class of ’82” and it is an old one that has been sitting in my stash for ages. Each of the layers is matted with maroon paper and I added some stars because I like them and they were hanging out in my stash 😀

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card creation even though it isn’t part of a challenge. Before you go from my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on.

Funny craft memes…round 3!

Until the next time we meet,
Find a way to do what you love.

Hot Air Balloon Birthday

Hello everyone. The card I am sharing with you today is a type of card that I find hard to make. Male themed birthday cards! I don’t know why these type of cards are hard but they are.  I think I pulled it off with the card that I have made and here it is

The making of this card came about because of the team at Shopping Our Stash Weekly. Their challenge this week is

and then I wanted to design from a sketch and I found this one

The first thing I did was scavenge through my craft supplies to see what I could use and I found an embossing folder with this Hot Air Balloon as part of the scene. I thought it would go well with the masculine theme. Along with the embossing folder the set also came with these boot prints which I used as the 3 elements on the sketch.

After embossing the Hot Air image I coloured it in with my Copics.  Then I found some papers that suited this perfectly. It was a 6X6  paper pad called “Up and Away” by Kasiercraft. On the balloon paper I stamped the words relax & enjoy, it’s your day in Kraft coloured ink. Then I also cut some strips of paper from the paper pack and sponged some Rusty Hinge Distress Ink around the edge. I put some foam tape under the boot prints just to give them a little height. I matted each of the main layers with some Maroon layering paper and put it all together.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project today. Please consider giving my blog a like or even leaving a comment. And as always I would like to leave you with this thought for today

Oh this is so true. I had forgotten this for quite a while. After everything that myself and my family had been through in the past little while … I had forgotten that no matter the size of the progress at least it is progress. And I can see that I am further forward than I was even just a couple of months ago.

Have a Happy Crafty Progressive Kind of Day,

Pink, Blue and Green Christmas

Hello everyone, I am writing this to you from a half made craft space. I started moving into my new craft space on Saturday with the help of my husband. And I have continued on from there.  I am hoping to be almost complete by the end of this week. I will write a post up on my new space once I have completed the move. But anywho onto I’m sure the main reason that you have stopped by to look at my blog today my card creation.
This card is actually inspired by 2 challenge blogs today. The first being the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge and since it is the 2nd week of the month it is time for a colour challenge. November Colour Combo is Pink, Blue + Green
And the second challenge is – I suppose you have already guessed if this isn’t your first visit to my blog! Can you guess?? If you guessed a sketch then you would be 100% correct. This sketch is being brought to us by Linda from Freshly Made Sketches and it is Sketch #362.
Everything used on this card is from my stash, nothing new! I did look at my Christmas stash of products and it is getting low. I may need to look at buying some new supplies. I never thought that I would see the bottom of my old stash. But also with the sketch I have decided to make it bottom to top – so the circle is the lower most element on this card and I built it up from there. I have used a very old piece of Christmas paper that I have fished out of my off cuts drawer plus the other papers came from this same drawer. To cut this I used MFTs In&Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle die. Then I cut the circle element from some white card stock and placed pink layering weight paper behind this element. Out of blue and green paper backed with Couture Creations double sided backing paper I cut out the sentiment using my Cuttlebug. I dug into my sentiment dies and found the Kasiercraft Decorative Dies Christmas Word Pack and the sized worked perfectly for this card.  The finishing touch was to add some pink, green and clear stickles in just a few places. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. And as always before you depart I would like to leave you with this final thought
Even though I am without a craft space I still have to craft in one form or another! When I am not making cards I am doing crochet or colouring or spinning. I never go anywhere without a project just in case I find the opportunity to make some progress.

Have a Happy Crafty Progressive Kind of Day, ❤ TracyB

No Spook Birthday

10 Crow birthday.JPG

Hello everyone,
Well in some places around the world people are getting ready to celebrate Halloween. Here in Australia it is starting to be celebrated, though I’m not sure that many people know why it’s celebrated, my family doesn’t celebrate. But in some of my scraps I actually found this crow image and the sentiment. The backing paper I have actually been hoarding because its my favourite colour.

For this card I am actually combining two challenges.

Related image

From Card in an Envy challenge theme is Something Spooky and then over at AAA Cards Challenge #125 is Inspired by a TV Show. When I found this paper I thought of the TV Show – The Addams (The Original Series). I always saw black birds flying around their house and these reminded me of them. I loved watching this TV series and also The Munsters – neither of these series scared me and some of the humour I didn’t get til later on in life.

I now usually provide you with the sketch that helped me to create my card but this time around I just found the supplies first.  Then I placed them on the card in a way that I thought would show each element off the best. The image and the sentiment elements were shaped like this; I thought that they were a little different to my usual square or rectangle so I left them alone. The only thing that I did with them was to ink them with Black Soot Distress Ink using a Sponge tool. All of this was put onto purple card stock and then mounted onto a white card base.

Thanks for stopping in and taking a look at my project. As always before you go I would like to leave you with this final thought:

Image result for morticia addams quotes normal is an illusion

One of my favourite Mortica Addams Quotes. This is so true … my normal is so much different to someone else. So there is definitely no 1 idea of normal.
