AHSC no.379

Hello everyone, I am here again as a designer for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and we are up to number 379. Had a lot of fun with this sketch from Michelle.

AHSC 379 27 July

I decided that I needed to start making Father’s Day cards as we celebrate this on the first Sunday in September. And I donate cards to my church for sale at their marketplace so I need to start. But this is the card that I came up with using this sketch.

AHSC 379

This BBQ Dad image is from another closed Digi image company called Digi Stamp Boutique. But I will still use images in my archives because I bought them and I like using them still and a lot of them I haven’t found anything to really replace them. I coloured this image in using my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils and my Copic Markers. I really like the contrast of using these two mediums together.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project. I hope that you will stop on over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and play along with this sketch. Before you do hop on over their I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch no.375

Hello everyone. If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen the image that I coloured for the The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge which is happening at the moment. I loved the image so much that my Ewe had to make an apperance on a card.

07 03 AHSC 375 B

This is a digi image from a retired company – Meljen Designs – but I still love the image and will still continue to use it. The adorable image was coloured in with my Polychromos Pencils and I am sort of happy with how it turned out. I am still learning how to use this medium. This card started with a sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Atlantic Hearts #375

I stuck pretty close to the sketch this time around. I love playing around with sketches they are so fun and help with my creaft. Atlantic Hearts is having a Design Team call at the moment. I have put my name forward as I love playing around with sketches so I would love the opportunity to become a part of a sketch challenge team. Will have to wait and see if I am successful. On that note; I want to say thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Before you leave my blog I would love to leave you with this last thought for this post.

May Sketch Challenge for 52CCT

Hello everyone, it is a new month and this month I am actually acting as hostess of the challenges. I hope that you have fun with the 4 challenges that I have come up with and come on over and play along with them.

But anyway onto this weeks challenge and since it is week one it is sketch time. If you have visited my blog before you will know that I love using sketches to make my cards. And this is the sketch that we are all going to be using.

2020 05

Now you can see that this has been put in as a square card but I don’t really do square cards so I have made a rectangle.

05 Wk1 Sketch

The image that I have used is such an adorable one from Bugaboo Digital Stamps and is called “Turtles Christmas“. I have coloured him in with my Copic Markers and kept the rest of the card pretty simple.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project for the sketch challenge that I am hosting. Please let me know what you thought of my design and also please pop on over to the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge blog and see how the other members of the team have used this sketch. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

52CCT March Sketch

Hello everyone, can you believe it we are in the 3rd month of 2020! Where has it all gone? But over on the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge site with a beginning of a month, it is time for a sketch challenge.

2020 03

An interesting sketch to play around with and this is what I came up with.

03 Wk1 Sketch

I made mine into an A6 card front and I also flipped the design only because it suited the stencil that I used in the background. You may also have noticed that I used more perfect pearl embellishments – this is because I had a couple of boo-boos that I had to cover up so I just put more to balance them out 🙂 I love using this gnome on my cards; he can be coloured up in so many different ways.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my design teamwork for the sketch challenge happening over on the 52CCT site. I hope that you will come on over and play along with us. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this thought for this post.

Challenge: when a negative thought enters your mind, think three positive ones. Train yourself to flip the script. Tried and true!

Until my next post,
Flip your script when you need to.

2 Cards 1 Sketch

Hello everyone, today I am here to share with you a sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge in which I turned into 2 Cards.

01 30 Fab Bday

And here is the fun sketch that started this creative process, Atlantic Hearts Sketch #353

This sketch can be used for so many different occasions and as you can see with my first card I actually turned this sketch on its side. I mainly did this because of the image that I wanted to use. It wouldn’t fit in the portrait orientation unless I moved the line almost to the bottom and then the sketch just didn’t look right.

And if you are wondering yes I used the top and bottom of the cuts I did with the die. I thought why not? Didn’t want to waste either my white paper or the blue paper 🙂 Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card projects today. Before you depart my blog today I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Sketch for Birthday Celebration

Hello everyone, this post is for the Day 2 of the Birthday Bash celebrations for Bugaboo Digital Stamps. And as you can see it is sketch time; doesn’t it remind you of a pair of overalls? At least that’s what I first saw.

An interesting sketch to play around with.

01 15 Bug Birthday Day2

For this sketch I had a little fun with the image “Molly Moo – garden” I decided that she would be harvesting balloons 🙂 She is coloured in with both markers and pencils. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Sketch Spin

Hello everyone, I am back with the card for day 2 of the Bugaboo Christmas Critter Choas Challenge for 2019; and today it is a sketch to play with.

And if you have been on my blog before you will know that I love using sketches for my designs. So I had a lot of fun playing along with this sketch but I decided to do something a little different 🙂

12-18-bug-critter-day-2..jpg

I turned the sketch around and I didn’t use a bow on my design I used a star die cut instead. The main reason for rotating the design is to suit the Christmas Critter that I already had printed and didn’t want to waste. I coloured in Christmas Cat with my copic markers and I used some brown Distress Ink along the bottom just to give some ground for him to stand on. To make some fluff on his hat I used some White Opal Stickles and I am really happy with how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. Before you depart I would like to leave you with this last thought for the post.

Well 2nd fav place 😉 after my craft space.

Until my next post,
Spend time in your happy places.

Farwell 2019

Hello everyone, I can not believe that we have gotten to the end of our challenges at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge for 2019. So as a way of looking back over this year’s challenges we are asking you to dive into our archives and pick your favourite challenge and make a card based on that challenge. Don’t forget to let us know which one you choose to base your design on.

Well if you have spent any time around my blog you will know that I love using sketches. So, of course, I decided to follow one from this year and it is this one

This sketch is from our June challenge. And this is my new card using this card as my starting point.

52CCT 12 2019

This image has been hanging out in my stash for quite a while waiting for me to find the perfect project for me to use it on. The paper in the background is from a paper pad that I picked up a year ago and then on the other side, I used one of my many neglected embossing folders. I am really pleased with how this turned out and I have another card towards my 2020 Christmas Card stash unless I need a last-minute card.

Thanks for all of your support of the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge over 2019. I hope that you will come and help us celebrate the end of 2019 and join in on our last challenge. And then I hope that you will come to join us again in 2020 on January 4th for another year of great challenges. And as always a quote for you to ponder on before you leave my blog.

No matter how you spend your Christmas may you find yourself somewhere happy, peaceful and wonderful. Look forward to seeing you in 2020.

Until my next post,
Keep working towards your goals.

And this is the card that I came up with

52CCT 10 2019 wk1 Sketch

This time around I have gone with a digital image combination from NitWit Collections and this one is “Nitwitivity” and it is still available. The paper behind the circle is from my stash of Christmas papers. I put some Love From Lizi Gold Stickers behind the sentiment strip.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team work for 52CCT. I hope that you will come on over to our blog and maybe even participate in the fun challenges that we have going on over there. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought for this post.

Sketch Sideways

Hello Everyone,
Yes, you are getting 2 cards from me today. I am using the same sketch from the previous blog post but I have turned it sideways to make a portrait card this time around. I told you that I love reusing sketches. And just to remind you here is sketch #521 again.

mojo-521.jpg

And here is my 2nd interpretation of this sketch.

08 25 sketch flip

The cute Santa Panda is an image that I have had for ages and I can’t remember where I obtained him from. But his dimensions were just right to be a part of this card. I love being able to play around with sketches and find new ways of using them.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. Another Christmas card to add to my stack that is slowly growing. I appreciate all of the likes and comments on my posts, thanks for taking the time to do this. Before you leave I would like to finish off this post with this last thought.

Until Next Time,
Tracy B
