A Finished Paper Pad

Hello everyone. You may be asking yourself why am I writing a post about this? I mean sure I have done this before … right? Well, the answer to that question is – yes I have. But I have come across another wonderful sketch that will help me use up those last pieces of a patterned paper pad.

Try Stampin (Or Not) on Tuesday

For my card unfortunately I wasn’t able to follow both sides of the challenge as you will see from the papers that were in this patterned paper pad. But this sketch allows me to use up those pieces of paper that are cut off to make a background panel. The smaller rectangles can be the opposite sides of the 2 longer pieces if they work really well together – which they usually do.

I decided to add a sentiment to one of the smaller boxes and also I used one of the foliage dies from Paper Rose Studio just to help give the card a little more dimension. So this finished off a patterned paper pad that I have been working through for a little while now. I will definitely be keeping this sketch in my box for future use.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card creation using the sketch from Try Stampin On Tuesday. I hope that you will get to do something creative today.

Until my next post,

52CCT February 2022 Theme

Hi everyone. This is going to be an ultra-short post today as I am off to a craft group in person … I am happy that these are back up and running again. Anyway onto our theme over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge.

I am not 100% sure if this is fully masculine but the colours are what I would use and I have definitely cut back on the number of layers and such. But I couldn’t just leave it plain so I added some Love from Lizi Pinstripe Red Glitter stickers to just give a little bit of a pop. The sentiment is actually a sticker that was originally silver but I have coloured it in with a dark red Copic marker as I didn’t like the look of the silver.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card make for the Theme challenge over at 52CCT. I hope that you will come and create with us and show us your makes over on our challenge blog. Before I go to my craft group I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

Birthday Wishes

Hello Everyone. As I write this I am away for a couple of days with family but it is very wet because we have a cyclone called Seth that has turned into a rain depression sitting just off the coast. Hopefully, we will get some periods of dry weather so that we can enjoy some time outside. For now, though I am using the craft supplies that I have brought on camp with me 🙂

But onto my card making. This card I got to make just before we departed for camp and I still wanted to share it so I took a photo and uploaded it to my computer before we left.

I am here with a design using a card sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. Their design team is taking a look back at previous sketches and we have this one to use in our creations.

This time around I decided to turn the sketch on its side to suit the image that I found in my stash. But this is something that I love about sketches they can be used in different orientations to suit the supplies that you are working with.

These papers were the last from the paper pad that I was trying to finish off. I didn’t like the plain design of the main paper so I went to my stencil supply and found this net design. Then I went to my drawer of distress inks and pulled out my Dried Marigold and a blending brush. This helped this paper be more cohesive with my image of the fishing village. Everything was matted with dark blue layering weight paper and to finish off the card I added some Ebony Black Nuvo Drops with a sentiment from the Black & White A5 Sentiment Sheets from Paper Rose Studios.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design. I hope that you have found this post helpful and I hope that you will have some time today to be crafty – I plan to be. Before I go here is my final thought for this post.

Until my next post,

AHSC #453

Hello everyone. We are so close to the end of 2021 but I am still spending time in my craft space; it’s my happy place; so I try to spend as much time in there as possible. And having cards to be made for my design team commitments helps a lot as I have something that I need to create for and they are heaps of fun. This time around I am sharing a card made with a sketch by Michelle from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

ahsc-453a

Because of the paper pad that I found on my craft desk, I decided to create with this instead of going searching for something different to use. This also meant that I didn’t go down the flower angle as indicated on the sketch as I was trying to create some masculine style general wishes cards as my stash was lacking in this.

The star die cuts were definitely lacking something after I cut them out so I added some shimmer and glaze over the top of them just to give them a little boost. Then I found the small star and this general sentiment in my sticker stash which I think finished the card off nicely.

Before you go off to create something using this wonderful sketch – I want to thank all of the creators that have created along with us during 2021 and I hope to see your wonderful creations in 2022. So please now go and create and share your makes with us over on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Until my next post,

Koala-tea Legend

Hello everyone. This card is another for a resident at the aged care home. I wanted to do some cards that were a little more on the simpler side. But I also wanted to inject a little of me into them as well. The making of this card came about by looking at one of my favourite sketch sites – Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I used a stamp set from Uniquely Creative called G’day Mate. I just loved this image and sentiment in the set that I had to put them together on a card and this paper pad that I found buried on my desk had the perfect colour for the main panel and also the square element. This piece is actually the opposite side to the green panel. I stamped the koala image and coloured him in with my Copic markers just so that he popped a little more from the coloured square.

If I was to remake this card I think that I would consider heat embossing my sentiment just to help it to stand out a little more from the main panel. But I only thought of this once I had taken my stamps out of my stamp platform and didn’t want to totally stuff up the stamping if I put them in the incorrect position.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design for the Sketch #618 from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I hope that you find yourself doing something creative and having some fun along the way.

Until my next post,

Tripping Birthday

Hello everyone, here is a kind of different birthday card. This card was made for a dear friend of ours. He loves anything with a motor so I had this wonderful car stamp in my stash.

12-06-green-car.jpg

The inspiration for this card started with a sketch #532 from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

As you can see on the sketch there is a bow but I didn’t think that this would suit a masculine card. So in place of the bow, I stamped 2 arrows from the stamp set and offset them from each other above circle cut-out. Behind the circle cut out area I used a stencil “Woodgrain” by Tim Holtz with 2 brown Distress Inks and my brush tool. Just so that this area has a little definition.

Thanks for stopping in to look at my card project. I hope that you enjoyed your time visiting my blog. Before you depart please let me leave you with this thought for this post.

Until my next post,
May you find time to let your imagination run wild!

Butterfly Birthday

Hello everyone, I loved the look of the sketch that Julie made from Mojo Monday that I decided that I had to attempt to make a card even despite my shoulder restrictions at the moment. And this is the card that I came up with

11-21-butterfly-birthday.jpg

And this is the sketch #527 from Mojo Monday that started this whole card making session.

MojoSketch527_600

My card ended up being a little bit different but it’s only missing the bow because I used washi tape instead of ribbon as I couldn’t find anything that would suit. I was going for a more masculine type of card – I think that I succeeded but I’m not 100% sure. What do you think? These papers have been in my stash for such a long time waiting for me to find the right project for them.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project today. I appreciate all of the comments and likes on my posts. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on.

Until the next post,

Birthday Travels

Hello Everyone,
I have had a productive couple of days but I have only now had the time to upload my creations to my blog. So here is another card that I have been able to make. The card this time around is based just on 1 challenge but I used up supplies that were still sitting on my desk from my previous card which meant that it didn’t go into my drawer of left overs. And this is the card that I came up with

02 22 Birthday Travel

As you can see I used the same backing papers that I used in the previous card but this time everything is matted with brown lightweight card stock.

TMS 491

Yes it is the same sketch as well from the previous card as well. I liked it so much that I wanted to have some more fun with this sketch. The images are actually from the reverse side of the paper sheet that I used so I thought that they suited the card sketch wonderfully. I really liked the idea of making another card that had a similar starting point but I ended up with something that looked different but used up that paper that I was using at the time. For the strip I used this camera washi tape that I had which I thought went with the travel theme of this card.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. I really appreciate the likes, comments and views that my blog receives. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Hot Air Balloon Birthday

Hello everyone. The card I am sharing with you today is a type of card that I find hard to make. Male themed birthday cards! I don’t know why these type of cards are hard but they are.  I think I pulled it off with the card that I have made and here it is

The making of this card came about because of the team at Shopping Our Stash Weekly. Their challenge this week is

and then I wanted to design from a sketch and I found this one

The first thing I did was scavenge through my craft supplies to see what I could use and I found an embossing folder with this Hot Air Balloon as part of the scene. I thought it would go well with the masculine theme. Along with the embossing folder the set also came with these boot prints which I used as the 3 elements on the sketch.

After embossing the Hot Air image I coloured it in with my Copics.  Then I found some papers that suited this perfectly. It was a 6X6  paper pad called “Up and Away” by Kasiercraft. On the balloon paper I stamped the words relax & enjoy, it’s your day in Kraft coloured ink. Then I also cut some strips of paper from the paper pack and sponged some Rusty Hinge Distress Ink around the edge. I put some foam tape under the boot prints just to give them a little height. I matted each of the main layers with some Maroon layering paper and put it all together.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project today. Please consider giving my blog a like or even leaving a comment. And as always I would like to leave you with this thought for today

Oh this is so true. I had forgotten this for quite a while. After everything that myself and my family had been through in the past little while … I had forgotten that no matter the size of the progress at least it is progress. And I can see that I am further forward than I was even just a couple of months ago.

Have a Happy Crafty Progressive Kind of Day,

50 Years On

Hello everyone. Today I am sharing with you a card that I have made for my Brother In Law … unfortunately I am running behind with sending this to him but the wishes are very much still given.

I have been inspired by 2 challenges to make this card and I will tell you about that one I show you what I came up with

I was first inspired by the Time Out Challenge #123

And if you have been to my blog you know that I love working with sketches and I found this one by Freshly Made Sketches #365

With the measurements I used

When I read the colour combo for the Time Out Challenge I knew the paper pad that I was going to use. The Black & White Timeless 6X6 paper pad by Kasiercraft that has been sitting in my stack for awhile now. I combined this with Brown layers as it suited the paper pack.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and looking at my project. Please let me know that you stopped in by leaving me either a like or a comment or even both. And as always before you leave I would love to leave you with this thought for today

I have found this hard  to do. This world wants certain things but I have always been different and I never feel like I fully fit in any where. That’s why I love time by myself because I don’t have to try and fit in.

Have a Happy Crafty Different Kind of Day,
❤ Tracy B
