52CCT September 2022 Colour Challenge

Hello Everyone.
I am here today to share with you my make using the colour combination over on the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge.

As with most colour challenges I have absolutely no idea what to do with them and this was no exception. So to complete this challenge I decided to use some supplies that have just been sitting in my craft space. This supply was my Minc machine – until recently it had been sitting in a place I couldn’t access it easily so it just wasn’t being used. Recently though I have made some more changes to my space and now I can access it so I printed out the sentiment with my computer, Print Master program and my laser printer. Then I ran the sentiment through the Minc with some gold foil and this is the result.

For the main part of my card I used blending brushes with 2 Distress Inks – Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans with the Love Peace Joy Stencil from Paper Rose Studios. I slightly shifted the stencil before applying the 2nd colour just to give the words a bit of contrast. All of this was mounted onto some Romanesque Mock Gold Paper from House of Paper and then placed onto a side fold A6 sized white card base.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my design team creation for the 52CCT September Colour Challenge. I hope that you will stop by the blog and see what the other designers have been up to with this challenge. Then create a card and share it with us we would love to see your creations.

Until my next post,

Where I Would Rather Be…

Hello everyone. I am here to share with you a card that I was able to make in amongst everything else going on in my world. This card was inspired by 2 challenges – a sketch challenge and an inspiration challenge.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

The inspiration challenge from Just Add Ink started this creation because this picture was definitely where I would rather be at the moment. In Brisbane today we are experiencing the beginning of a cold snap – tomorrow is supposed to be worse. So at the moment, I would like to find somewhere warmer but not as hot as summer. Don’t want much do I ?!? Anyway onto the card instead of the weather 🙂

I did change the sketch so that it was a portrait rectangle instead of a square but kept all the main elements the same. These papers are from an older Kasiercraft paper pad which has been in my stash for quite a while, I hope to finish it off soon or I may donate it as I haven’t used it up yet and may never. The sentiment I printed on my laser printer and then ran it through my Minc machine with some silver foil even though in the picture it looks black.

Just putting this out there – why is photographing metallics so painful?

But anyway thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design for the challenge combo. I hope that you have a fabulous day no matter what you are doing.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

AHSC #445

Hello Everyone. Welcome to November! What!! How did that happen? We are coming to the end of the year but we are still having fun with challenges. And Michelle from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has given us a wonderful sketch to create with this week.

AHSC 445

I loved this sketch as it allowed me to use up some of the longer strips of patterned paper that I had at the end of this patterned paper pad. Sketches like these really help me to finish off paper pads and they stay in my to be used again pile for when I need inspiration. The only inclusions not in the paper pad were the brown cardstock which I used for the band across the card and the metallic maroon cardstock layer as I didn’t want to add another patterned piece as it looked way too busy. All of the layers were matted with black cardstock and I used my Minc machine to gold emboss the sentiment layer. The bunny and heart are from the coordinating ephemera pack and were a perfect size. After I put everything together I added some Shimmering Rose Nuvo Drops and let them dry just to add some interest in the corners.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my design team make for sketch #445 from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will create along with us and show us your creations over at the AHSC blog. Have a great day.

Until my next post,

1st Card with Foiling

Hello everyone. Well this isn’t the 1st card with foiling on it but it is the 1st card with foiling done by me with my Minc machine. I have always loved the looking of gold or even better coloured sentiments on a card but me and embossing has never gotten on well. Then I got to play with a Minc machine and I was hooked.

The making of this card started with my favourite thing – a sketch. This time around it is Sketch Saturday #673.

My rectangle features a larger than indicated in the sketch but this was determined by this old Kasiercraft Polaroid Die that I found in my stash during my recent craft room update. The sentiment I printed on my sentiment on my Brother Laser Printer and used Heidi Swapp Rainbow Foil. Once I put this behind the polaroid it looked a little stark so I got out 3 Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers and Wild Honey this helped quite a lot. I matted everything in black cardstock and added Black Nuvo Crystal Drops as indicated on the sketch.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design using the sketch from Sketch Saturday. I hope that you will find yourself doing something creative.

Until my next post,
