Mothers Day 2021

05 6th SSS909

Hello everyone. Today’s make is for my Mother In Law, Alison unfortunately it will be arriving on her doorstep late but I say better late than never.

The starting point for this card came from 2 challenges both from Bugaboo Digital Stamps.

and then this sketch

2021 SSS Sketch 909Sketch no.909

I love sketches and I love Bugaboo images so this was a match made for each other. I found the Sock Elephant already coloured up with my Copic Markers in my image box. Then today I added the grass and sky with my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils so he wasn’t hanging in mid air. The papers used are from Kasiercraft “Tiny Woods” pack which is an older design. The sentiment stamp is from Paper Rose Studio “Mothers Day Quotes Clear Stamp Set

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card make for the 2 Challenges. Have a great day no matter what you find yourself doing.

Until my next post,

AHSC no.405

Hello everyone. January 2021 is nearly over already … how did this happen?, may I ask you. Life is definitely different for all of us. I don’t think that anyone hasn’t been affected in some way or another by the events of the pandemic. But during this I have had time to sit at my craft desk and make some cards. I have to admit though that making them has been hard because I haven’t really felt very crafty so when I get into one of these moods I fall back on an old faithful way of getting my crafting going and that is using sketches.

I am lucky to be on a sketch design team so I have access to new sketches to play with 😀 And this week the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and made by Michelle is …

This was a lot of fun to play with but I did change it up a little as you will see now …

AHSC 405

Yes this is a Mothers Day Card. I donate cards and these cards are needed at the end of February to make it back to the recipients in time for May. You can see that I used a lace border die instead of ripping my paper as indicated in the sketch. I tried several times to make it rip so I was happy and lets just say that previous attempts are now in the recycle bin. But I am still happy with how this card turned out.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my design team card for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will consider joining in on the fun of making projects with this sketch. Before you depart my blog though I would love to leave you with this final thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be kind to Yourself and Others.

Mothers Day Bird

Hello everyone, again I am here to share with you a Mothers Day card that I have made. I am trying to get as many as I can done before the deadline. I am donating them to our troops and they need to be sent to them so that they can make their way back to the recipients. So this is why I am doing these now and not in April.

02 12 Bird Mum Day

And this card started with the sketch #596 from Sketch Saturday.

The images on the card came from the stamp set “Flying By” from Uniquely Creative. I coloured both of these in with my Copic markers and fussy cut around them. This is a different sort of Mothers Day card but I like it. Not all Mothers are into pink and such.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this thought for this post.

Look after yourself. You can be your own worst enemy.

Until my next blog,
Do what makes you happy.

2 Cards 1 Sketch Pt2

Hello everyone, today I am here to share with you a sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge in which I turned into 2 Cards. To see my other card please go here.

01 30 Mum

And here is the fun sketch that started this creative process, Atlantic Hearts Sketch #353

This sketch can be used in a different orientation as my first card showed but also for so many different occasions as well. Time to dive into our stash and find those wanted to use or forgotten stamps that are in our stashes 😉 I know you have them like me.

And if you are wondering, if you’ve seen my first card as well; yes I used the top and bottom of the cuts I did with the die. I thought why not? Didn’t want to waste either my white paper or the blue paper 🙂 Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card projects today. Before you depart my blog today I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Some Bunny Loves Mum

Hello everyone, yes another card made for Mum and also more of my stash used up.

01 29 Mum2

But if you looked at my stash you wouldn’t think that I had made a dent in it. The box is still looking quite full. This card started with the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches #539.

As I was uploading the photo I noticed that I got the striped paper a little crooked oh well not much I can do about that now. But aren’t these bunnies adorable! I found them in my stash as I was searching for images to use for this card. These 2 are coloured in with my Copic Markers and cut out by hand. My Gemini Jnr took care of cutting out the 2 circles.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Frozen Shoulder is no fun. Having steroid injection tomorrow so there is hope for improvement.

Until my next post,

Sketch for Mum

Hello everyone, another card completed for Mothers Day.

01 29 Mum

This time I used the sketch from Julie at Mojo Monday #529.

To make this card I got to use up some of the papers that have been sitting around in my stash since last Mothers Day. I had also printed this greeting last year but didn’t get around to using it but it suited this sketch perfectly. It is so nice to be using up stuff that has been hanging around my craft space for so long.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Not so much with card crafting but definitely other projects.

Mothers Day

Hello everyone, yes I know that Mothers Day isn’t for quite a while. But when you donate cards to places you have to be crafting ahead of time. So since this is my next donation you are going to be seeing some of my creations for this wonderful day.

Tuesday Morning Sketch #538

This card started with this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I am not sure where I got this image from but I have had it for years and use it quite often for Mothers Day or New Baby cards. This time around I decided to leave it black and white because I thought it was a great contrast to the pink of the card.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card creation today. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

Boy or Girl Card 4 Mum

Hello everyone, as I mentioned in my last post I have a box of images that I have already coloured in with my colouring mediums. I was playing around with some papers that look like watercolour and I liked 2 of them that suited 2 cute Bugaboo images that were sitting in my box.

01 07 Mum Day 2 piece

Aren’t these adorable. I coloured in these images with my Copic markers. Unfortunately, these particular images are no longer available but there are still some really cute baby images over at the Bugaboo Shop. I may have to buy some of these myself but I definitely won’t be not using these anymore. I know that it seems early to be starting Mothers Day Cards but when you donate cards to organisations they need them earlier than the actual date in May.

These cards actually started with the 1st Challenge in January for the Catch The Bug Challenge which is “Anything Goes“. Thanks for stopping in and looking at my double card project. Now before you depart from my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Mothers Hold our Hand

Hello everyone, yes I know that the new year has only just started but if you are a crafter and you give your cards to charities especially those who give cards to our troops and others then we need to be crafting ahead of the occasions. So as you can see I have started my Mother’s Day cards for 2020.

01-07-mother.jpg

I have loved this Bugaboo Digital image for years and I use it quite often. And its called Words of an Angel and it is still available 😀 But this card started with the first sketch from Stella Says Sketch – Ready Steady Sketch #801

I coloured in this image with my Copic markers after I had found this wonderful watercolour type paper in my stash from The Paper Mill. I have matted this onto some 125gsm Purple Cardstock and used some of my Love from Lizzi Purple Pin Stripe Mirror Stickers in the medium width. In my stash was also these iridescent purple circles with gold borders so I used these and this finished off my card.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. Before you depart from my blog I would like to leave you with this final thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Enjoy your crafty endeavours.

AHSC 315

Hello Everyone,
I am here today to share my Design Team work for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. If you have been to my blog before you will know that I LOVE sketches. This is one of my favourite ways to start off a card. And this is the sketch that Michelle gave us to play with

AHSC 315 May 6th DT

I had so much fun playing around with this sketch that I actually made 3 cards and these are them

AHSC 315a

They are all made based on the sketch but I changed how I used this sketch and this is one of the things that I love about sketches. You can use them as is or you can flip them or invert them what ever works best for your card sometimes what you do depends on the paper you are using; you may not want to cover up a certain part. This is what happened with the card I am going to highlight in this post.

AHSC 315

As you can see with this paper if I used the original orientation of the sketch I would have lost the city and tree scene on the paper. So I flipped and rotated the sketch to suit my paper. I left this card pretty simple because the base paper was so busy.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team project for AHSC. I hope that you will come on over and play along with myself and the team. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Until Next Time,
Tracy B
