52CCT December 2022 Colour

Hello everyone,
It is the 2nd week of December and I am here to share with you my design team make with a colour challenge.

This time around our hostess Gill is asking that we don’t add any other colours to this combo. This threw me for a little while but this is what I came up with.

I had this piece of watercolour paper in my stash and then I cut the Hope image twice using my Brother ScanNCut. I used a heavy weight cardboard, once from white and then from dark blue, to give the image a bit of stability especially with the thinner parts of the design. The dark blue image I used to give a shadow to the white image which had the advantage of helping it to stand out from the card. I mounted the panel onto a panel of dark blue light weight card before putting it onto a white card base leaving a border. To give a little more interest to the card I added some Midnight Blue Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design using the colour combination at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I hope that you will come and create along with us and show us your creations at our challenge blog.

Until my next post,

Birthday Double Challenge

Hello everyone. It was so lovely to get into my craft space, create some cards, and use up some papers that have been sitting on my desk for the longest time.

To make things go a little smoother I decided to look at what challenges were around that might work with the pieces that I had. Well, I found that Double Trouble and Try Stampin’ On Tuesday were teaming up this week. I usually enter both of these challenges when I am able so I was pleased to see this team-up.

I love using sketches so this was a great one to work with and then extra challenges with the Double Trouble I was able to comply with as well.

The paper that I had sitting on my desk was the nailed board, this was the only piece of this paper that I had left. So I decided that I needed to make a background paper so I used a leaf stencil and 2 Distress Inks – Fired Brick and Gathered Twigs – with stencil brushes.

The other products that I used were from Paper Rose Studios the happy birthday sentiment from the Black and White Sentiment Pack and the image which is called On The Road. I stamped this image on Kraft light-weight cardstock in Rich Cocca Memento Ink. I add a strip of gold light-weight cardstock, a black Pin-Stripe Sticker by Love From Lizi and Black Nuvo Drops to finish off the card.

Thanks for looking in at my card design using the 2 challenges from Double Trouble & Try Stampin’ On Tuesday. I hope that you have a wonderful day no matter what you find yourself doing.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

52CCT May 2022 Theme Challenge

Hello everyone. I am here today to share with you my creation using the theme that I chose as hostess this month over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. And the theme that I chose is.

As a Christian, I love celebrating the reason for this wonderful season. And it all began with the Nativity. God gave to the world the greatest gift that could have ever been given. So to celebrate this moment in history I made this card.

This image is from the patterned paper pad called Christmas Night from Paper Rose Studios. I cut this image out using my Stitched Border Rectangle Dies (Australian Sized) from Paper Rose as well. The sentiment I made on my computer and printed on cardstock before cutting it out and rounding the corners with my punch. I mounted my panel onto some gold shimmer cardstock and some maroon cardstock as well. Then to finish off the card I added 5 Mustard Gold Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my creation using the Theme – Nativity – over at the 52CCT challenge. I hope that you will consider coming on by and creating along with myself and the design team.

Until My Next Post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

AHSC #445

Hello Everyone. Welcome to November! What!! How did that happen? We are coming to the end of the year but we are still having fun with challenges. And Michelle from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has given us a wonderful sketch to create with this week.

AHSC 445

I loved this sketch as it allowed me to use up some of the longer strips of patterned paper that I had at the end of this patterned paper pad. Sketches like these really help me to finish off paper pads and they stay in my to be used again pile for when I need inspiration. The only inclusions not in the paper pad were the brown cardstock which I used for the band across the card and the metallic maroon cardstock layer as I didn’t want to add another patterned piece as it looked way too busy. All of the layers were matted with black cardstock and I used my Minc machine to gold emboss the sentiment layer. The bunny and heart are from the coordinating ephemera pack and were a perfect size. After I put everything together I added some Shimmering Rose Nuvo Drops and let them dry just to add some interest in the corners.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my design team make for sketch #445 from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will create along with us and show us your creations over at the AHSC blog. Have a great day.

Until my next post,
