52CCT December 2021 Review Challenge

Hello everyone. I love the variety of different challenges that we have over at the 52Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. This whole month is a fun look back at the challenges of 2021.

**REVIEW OF 2021**

I have chosen to highlight the Theme Challenge from May 🙂 I had 2 ideas for this challenge; I did the other one for the actual challenge so I was able to go ahead and make my 2nd card idea for this challenge. So what we want you to do is have some fun with is; take a stroll through our previous challenges chose one that catches your fancy and make a card and upload it to our blog. Don’t forget to mention in your blog which one you have chosen to highlight. Here is a reminder of the Theme for May.

What started this design was finding the watercolour background paper while looking for my metallic paper. I thought that it looked like an early evening sky and this is where this design started. Plus also had the idea of putting it all into a frame which was easier with my Gemini Jnr machine helping me out. After cutting out the trees and the frames the sky was looking a little bare that is when I thought about putting a Santa into the sky above the trees. And I have this wonderful Aussie-inspired Santa’s Sleigh with Kangaroos Die from Paper Rose Studios. So I cut him out of black heavyweight paper which I backed with double-sided adhesive beforehand so that I wouldn’t end up with a nightmare of trying to stick it down or glue going everywhere.

While I had my Gemini Jnr Electronic Die Cutting Machine on I used an older die pack from Kasiercraft called Christmas Word Pack Decorative Dies to cut out Happy Christmas from Gold Paper which I backed again with adhesive. I had so much fun creating this card.

I am glad that you stopped in and looked at my card design for the December Pick A Previous Challenge over at 52Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. Maybe you will consider coming on over and playing along with our challenge. This challenge is for the whole month of December so you have plenty of time to play along.

Until my next post,

52CCT December 2020 Pick a Previous Challenge Pt 2

Hello Everyone. I hope that your December is all going well. As I am posting this 2nd post for our December Pick a Previous challenge over at Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge my family and I are just finishing up a short holiday away. Mind you the weather while we were away was not the most ideal but it was a break away from the everyday kind of stuff.

But any who onto my 2nd post for the December challenge

I had so much fun creating for challenges this year that I wanted to highlight a 2nd one. This card I chose to go to one type of challenge that I always find tough to do … the Colour Challenges. But to be kind to myself I chose a challenge that actually used more traditional colours. This is the challenge from November.

Along with these colours I could use Black or White for the sentiment as well. Even having such traditional colours to play around with I still stuggled to come up with a design that I was happy with.

I am happy with the card that I finally came up with. This design was made easier by the use of a cover die in which I was able to use up some of the scraps of Christmas paper that I had on my desk. I also used a Merry Christmas die for my sentiment which I layered on some Vellum paper so it wouldn’t get lost on the design. I also used some green stickles and some Love from Lizi glittered peel-offs on the top and bottom.

Thanks for stopping on my blog today and looking at my 2nd design for our look back on previous challenges in 2020. I hope that you will come over to the original challenge post and see what others have been up to and also consider joining in on the fun. Before you leave my blog though I would love to leave you with this last thought for this post.

From my family to you and yours may you have a blessed Christmas. Many prayers that 2021 will be a better year than the last, even though this year has actually helped me to get “2020” vision on some things in my life.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others

52CCT Design Team Call & December Challenge

Hello Everyone. Wow here we are in the last month of 2020 – can you believe that we got here? This has been such a topsy-turvy kind of year for so many of us. But as you can see by the title of this post we have 2 things going on during the month of December.

Firstly we have a Design Team Member Call happening. We are in need of recruiting a new team member to come and join our fabulous team. This team is lots of fun to be a part of and I love the variety of challenges and there is definitely no pressure involved. A great bunch of people to work alongside each month and you know well in advance the challenges that are coming up so you can plan ahead 🙂 So why not consider becoming a part of our team. All you have to do is submit a card in this months challenge and put DT after your name.

AND now onto the December Challenge.
During December we have a month long challenge going as all of us are busy with family and so forth so instead of doing our regular challenges we are doing our Annual favourite

So we want you to go back through the challenges that we have featured this year and chose one to make a project with. You can find all of our previous challenges on our blog along the top of the page – just click on the type of challenge you would like to do and the information and link to the post are all in there. The link to our blog is Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. In your post please tell us which one your card features 🙂

For my project I went into the Sketch archive as I love playing with sketches and I chose the Sketch from October.

And this is my creation with this sketch.

You can tell straight away that I didn’t make a square card as I don’t usually but this is something that I love about sketches. A sketch is a starting point and with my creation you can still see the bones of the original sketch and this is what can be done or you could flip the sketch both side to side or top to bottom.

To make this card I went into my stash of Christmas paper packs and found this lovely one with this paper with the intricate design across the top of the paper and this was my starting point for the sketch. Also the star stickers have been sitting in my sticker stash for eons and it was lovely to find a card to include them on. It is great finding projects for your stash items.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and looking at my Design Team project for Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I hope that you will either enter or design team call or even just play along with the challenge this month. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

Pick a Challenge

Hello everyone, I hope that you are having fun with our Pick a Challenge from 2019 December Challenge. I was having so much fun looking back on the cards that I made during the year that I decided that I would put a card in for the reminder post for our challenge.

This time around I went back to March for the Colour Challenge which was White and Gold. I wasn’t 100% happy with what I had done for that challenge so I wanted to see what I could come up with this time around.

Even though this card is on the simpler side of things I am really pleased with how it turned out. I think that keeping the card design simple helped a lot. You have until Midnight Friday 27th December (GMT) to come and play along with our Challenge.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team card design. I hope that you will come and participate in the challenge. Before you depart from my blog I would like to leave you with this final thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Remember the reason for this Season,
