AHSC no.491

Hello Everyone.
It is so lovely to write this to you as the weather around me is getting warmer. Don’t get me wrong I am not looking forward to the heat of Summer, but Spring has started rather nicely.

Today I am sharing with you a card I have created using the latest sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

This card was created with supplies that have been sitting in my stash for ages. The patterned paper and crystals are from Paper Rose Studios and the stamps are from an older stamp set from Stampin’ Upp called Vibrant Vases. This was a fun sketch to use and I think that I will end up using it again in the future.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my creation for sketch #491 from AHSC. I hope that you will come and create along with us and share your makes over on the challenge blog.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

Leaves Thank You

Hello Everyone.
While I was in my craft space I loved the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge so much that I decided to use it again but this time in conjunction with the challenge from Double Trouble Challenge.

This card is made with some supplies that have been in my stash for years and some brand new ones which were gifted to me. So I wanted to send a thank you to the wonderful person who gave them.

The paper pad, Copic markers and ink pads have been in my stash for quite awhile. But the stamps are new. The thank you sentiment is from Paper Rose Studios and the leaves are from a company called Pasttime Crafts. The colours that I used were actually chosen by the image that I chose from the stamp set.

The whole colour combo was decided by the recipe from Double Trouble Thing 1.

From:       The Kitchen at Double Trouble
Servings:  Unlimited Portions of Fun
Recipe:     3-2-1 Recipe

Ingredients:  3  Colors of your Choice, 2  Embellishments and 1  Stamped or Digital Image

The 3 colours are brown, green (in various shades) and orange. I have 2 types of embellishments – the straight dark green stickers and the orange circle holographic. I did use 1 stamp image but multiple times – I hope this meet the recipe.

I had so much fun joining these challenges together. I hope that you like my interpretation of these challenges. My wish for you is that you will find yourself doing something that you truly love.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

Hello Everyone.
I am having one of those weeks when you feel like you are on top of stuff but then you find you are not. To help overcome some of this I like to spend time in my craft space; I can usually leave the outside world alone for a while and just decompress.

While I was in there I created a card using the latest sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

The theme of the sketch was back to school but being in Australia we are no where near that at the moment. In fact we are just coming out of winter – well the calendar says that but the weather doesn’t seem to want to give winter up. But I know that in a few months the hotter summer weather will be here and we will be wishing for cooler weather again.

While I was looking through my stamps I saw this set. The sentiment is what made me laugh and I thought creating with it would give me a lift as well as who will end up receiving the card in the end. The cacti are individual stamps, plus others. so that you can use any combo in different pots; love this kind of stamp set. So many possibilities.

I stamped everything using my stamp platform to make sure that I got good impressions and the correct placements. Once that stamping was done I coloured them in with my Copic markers. The papers that I used are from an older Paper Rose Studio paper pack. I wanted something a little muted so that the stamping and colouring stood out.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my creation using the latest sketch from Michelle over at the AHSC. I hope that you will come along to the blog and see what the other designers have been up too and create along with us as well.

Until my next post,

Christmas Comes

Hello Everyone.
As I write this post we only have only 112 days until Christmas Eve but it’s actually only 59 days until November 1st. This is the day that overseas cards and parcels need to be in the post to try and get them to their destination by Christmas. So I will be making many Christmas cards between now and then. As I send cards but I also donate cards as well so to that end I have made one using the sketch from Try Stampin On Tuesday.

I really like this sketch I can see myself reusing this sketch again in the future. I did add a Santa image as this was the last of the papers from this paper pad and this image was from these papers; I put him on just for some visual interest. I am glad to have another Christmas card done.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design. I hope that you like what I did with the sketch and my little add.

Until my next sketch,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

52CCT September 2022 Sketch

Hello Everyone.
It is the first Saturday of September and over on the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge it is sketch time.

My centre image is bigger than indicated but I tried making it smaller and it just didn’t look right. But I am still happy with my creation and I like this sketch. I will keep this one for use later.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my creation using the sketch over at the 52CCT. I hope that you will come and see what the other designers did with this month’s sketch. And hopefully, you will come and create with us and share your makes over on the challenge blog.

Until next time,

Hello Everyone.
Today I am sharing with you a card that I made using the latest sketch from Michelle over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

This is a really simple styled card for me anyway! This die-cut lady has been sitting on my desk for ages and she finally made her way onto a card. The papers are from an older Paper Rose Studio collection called Sally’s Quilt. I actually got this collection as part of a cardmaking kit but never got to fully finish the papers.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card creation for the latest sketch #487 from AHSC. I hope that you will come and create along with us and share your creations over on the challenge blog.

Until next time,

52CCT August 2022 Sketch

Hello everyone. I am here to share with you my make using the sketch provided over on the Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge.

This sketch is shown as a square but as I don’t make many square cards I changed it to be an A6 sized card. This is a standard sized card in Australia and I don’t have to pay any extra postage for it.

The patterned paper is from a paper pad that I have been working through but that pad didn’t have a paper that would be suitable to use for the background so I used some dark green cardstock that has a slight pattern and sheen to it.

Within the extra elements from the paper pad I found this sentiment in a circle which worked perfectly. I added a strip of maroon coloured shimmer paper in the place indicated to be the sentiment just to help ground the larger of the 2 triangles. From my stash I found some light coloured kraft paper which I matted the triangles and the main panel. As a finishing touch I added some dark green holographic circle stickers from my stash.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my design team make using the August Sketch from over on the 52CCT challenge blog. I hope that you will come and create along with us and share you makes with us.

Until my next post,

Hello everyone. This morning I am here to share with you my make using the sketch from Michelle over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

This time around I made my card very close to the sketch. Some things are a little bit smaller or bigger but everything is there except the bow – I used a star instead. I thought that the star suited the main paper better. The flower is a die from Paper Rose Studio called the Alana Flower. It is a favourite in my collection and I have used some purple lightweight cardstock and some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Seedless Preserves was put around the edge of each piece with a sponge dauber. I used some holographic paper for the centre as this matched with the star.

Making a card with such softer colours was such a change to the last patterned papers that I had been using. I will be donating these to a challenge that donates care baskets to new parents and I thought a handmade card would be a nice thing to include.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card creation using the latest sketch from AHSC. I hope that you will come along and create with us and share your makes over on the challenge page.

Birthday Cupcake

Hello everyone. I was able to get into my craft room and make some cards. It was nice being able to craft again after being unable to do so due to health restrictions and time. To help my creating go a little smoother I decided to see what sketches were available on a fav sketch site. Try Stampin’ on Tuesday didn’t disappoint.

I decided to go with just the sketch this time around.

I like how this card turned out but I am wondering about the black circle now … hmmm? I think that my mind was still in the warmer tones of my previous paper pad. I really like this sketch and I will be using it again for inspiration for future makes.

With this card, I was able to use some new to me products that have been sitting on my shelf from Paper Rose Studios. I was able to use the Cupcake Metal Cutting Die and a patterned paper from a cardmaking kit called Sally’s Quilt. The kit has been sitting for quite a while but I thought I would try making something with it because of the softer colours of the patterned paper. These kits are great value for money, and since using some of the kit I will continue with them once I finish another project that is coming due.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design using the TSOT sketch. I hope that you have a fabulous day no matter what you find yourself doing.

Until my next post,

Hello everyone. Today I am sharing with you my card which I made using the latest sketch from Michelle over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

I made a sympathy card as this is the type of card that was the lowest in my stash. When I need them I generally don’t feel up to making this type of card so I make them when I can; so I have them available.

This card was made with papers that I found on my desk which is actually the end of another patterned paper pad. I am so glad to be finishing off pads instead of storing them. Now I can work on another one – I think I will find something with a brighter colour palette.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card design for AHSC. I hope that you will come along and create with us using this latest sketch.

Until my next post,
