A second card for today. It’s so good to be in my craft space more often at the moment. So while this is the way of things I am making the most of it. And here is the 2nd creation for tonight.
I had coloured in this image ‘Kidz Rose Boy‘ by Bugaboo Digi Stamps with my Copic Markers then I thought that I would suit the sketch from Sketch Saturday if I orientated it differently.
The papers this time around is from my stash and I am unsure where I got it from. But again I used some Washi Tape which I adhered to white paper first for the banners. And once I adhered the image to the main panel I used my stamp platform to make sure that I didn’t miss stamp the sentiment at this point in the project. I wrapped a strip of silver around the top but didn’t realise that it wasn’t straight until after I adhered it to the card so I had to leave it as is.

Sometimes I think that we look at ourselves too critically. And don’t realise how wonderful and unique we truly are. You are a unique creation of God – all you have to be is You.
Hello everyone. You may be asking why I named my post Birthday Squared. Well I am not one for making using squared shaped cards. I usually stick with the regular rectangle shape because it doesn’t produce any waste and you can get two cards from a A4 sheet of card stock. Where as with a square shaped card you can only get one decent sized card from a sheet but you have leftovers. I mean I won’t waste this of course because it will be used for a sentiment later but you know I’m sure …
… anywho onto the reason you stopped by my blog today to see my creation
I was quite lucky with this card that I was able to jump into my leftovers drawer and find everything that I needed to make this card. The newest product used on this card is actually the Happy Birthday die which I actually cut apart to use on this card.
But this whole square card making started because of the sketch over at Sketch Saturday
Isn’t this a great sketch. I usually stretch these kinds of sketches to suit an A6 sized card but I decided to try and design within the square. Before cutting the birthday die as its so large I backed the paper with some double sided paper to make the sticking to the project easier. As I wanted to try and not take up the whole front with this die; I sacrificed some of the flowers from the die to make it fit as I have. And the double sided paper really saved me after I decided to cut the original die-cut apart. Piecing it together after its surgery was easier because I didn’t have to put wet glue onto some really small pieces.
I think that this card could actually suit anyone and I may end up making more square cards in the future but that is to be seen. Thanks for stopping by my blog today. To let me know that you have stopped by consider liking my post and even commenting to let me know what you think of it. Love Star Trek and like decorating for Christmas but so glad that I don’t have anyone who is particular how they are placed.

Hello everyone. I had so much fun making my previous card that I had to colour another one of the fun cat images that I have. When I have some down time I colour images that make me smile and then I have images ready to put onto cards. I have 2 favourite mediums that I like to colour with – Copic Markers and Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils. This image I coloured with my Copic Markers.
Then over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge their theme for October is Christmas pets so I had the perfect image coloured for this challenge.
And if you been to my blog before you know that I love making cards using a sketch. So I searched my favourite sketch sites and found #536 by Sketch Saturday that I thought would suit my cute cat image.
The papers that I used are by Kasiercraft. This paper pack was called Mistletoe and the scalloped border came from this paper pack as well. The sentiment I actually made on my computer and printed it at the same time as the cat image.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and read my blog. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought
Oh this gave me just the giggle that I needed today. But I will admit that sometimes I am that person who does pull a push door. Have a great day no matter which side of this quote you are on.
Today was a good day I got to colour some images and I also got to make some cards. So today even though it started rough it has ended good. I looked at my Christmas card stash and it is very low considering how many I need each year.
So I saw the sketch up at Sketch Saturday #535 and I decided that I would make some Christmas cards.
Plus I also decided to make a 2nd card since I had printed 2 of the same images. I used my favourite image from Just Me the Fa La La La Llama image. I sized the Llama so that it would sit on a die cut tag nicely; this is one thing that I love about digital images. This time around I used my Copics to colour in these images. Christmas papers from my stash and some green paper for the matting layers and this finished off my card.

I have found that on my hardest days I need to get some crafting done. Even if the results aren’t something I could use just the act of being creative helps me to feel better. So I now try to be creative in some way each day.
Today my card is another Christmas card – the reason I made a 2nd Christmas card is because the supplies were already sitting on my desk from the previous card. I hadn’t put them away so I thought why not use what was already out.
As you can see I am including the sketch with the measurements that I used to create the sketch. I thought that others may find having these useful as I love using sketches to make my creations.
So the products I used to make this card are a white heavy weight card stock and maroon layering paper for the layers. The papers come from Kasiercrafts Christmas Carol 6X6 paper pad and the sentiment was included as part of the pad. The flags are made in various sizes and placed until I was happy with the layout.
Well that is my project, thanks for stopping by and having a look at my card. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought
I am no longer running away from my chronic illness. I don’t like what my illness has done to my body but I am learning to live with the limitations. And now I am letting others know – not for sympathy or kudos – but for understanding when I am no longer able to do what I once did. Being a part of the crafting community both online and in groups is my sanity saver.
Today I am sharing with you a Christmas card made with my spinning friends in mind. We spin with a lot of different fleeces/fibres including Llama. So this will suit someone from my group.
For the sketch I have worked out the measurements in centimetres and they are written on the image these are for the main elements and then for the mats I added 2mm to each side. The Llama image from Just Me Digital Stamps on Etsy. I coloured in this image with my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils. I am trying to get better at using this medium and I am practising with these a lot more.
The papers that I have used for this card are from Kaisercrafts’ Merry & Bright 6X6 paper pad. The mats are made from maroon card stock plus some gold paper for the image just to help set it off a little more. A Christmas bauble and sentiment comes from the coordinating embellishment pack.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought:
I truly wish that this was the complete answer to everything it would make things so much easier. But crafting in some form or another does help.
Have a Happy Crafty of any sort Kind of Day,
Today the card that I am sharing is actually part of a 5 card set that I made. I decided to have some fun and just create some backgrounds and cards using the same set of materials. For this card I used a card sketch from Sketch Saturday #532 by Jessie – this is what it looks like
The products that I used for the card was a paper pack from my stash, the background which I created with a simple pan of watercolours, some watercolour paper cut to 10cm X 14.4cm and the My Favourite Things Sketched Blooms Stamp Set plus their Black Hybrid Ink. To cut out the square element I used my Stitched Square Dies from Uniquely Creative. The rest of the elements where cut using my paper trimmer. The black brads are from my stash.
I sometimes like making simple styled cards because I find I have to stop myself from adding more and more elements. I think that this sketch may become a favourite of mine.

In every project that I make there is a little imperfection. It is the quirk of handmade of which I love. I love seeing the artist in their work. Nothing in this world is true and perfect unless it is made by God. I am the perfect me because God made me. I am never perfect except in the eyes of God and I am very OK with that.
