Hello everyone, as I mentioned in my last post I made 2 cards with the same image from Power Poppy. Well here is the other card from that pair.
As I also mentioned in the last post this card started with a sketch from Sketch Saturday #582. And here it is again for your reference.
I have used the same die that I used on the previous card to make the swirl but I have only adjusted it a little to fit on the card. This time around I have used a Get Well Soon sticker from my stash. The paper that I have used on both cards comes from that large stash of Recollections Black and White Paper Pad it gives a little bit of pattern without overwhelming my watercolour panels which I wanted to be the focal point.
Thanks for stopping into my blog and having a look at my card project. I want to also say thanks for all the comments and likes on my blog I really appreciate it. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on for this post.
Until we meet again, always remember that you matter,
Yes, I got to spend some time in my craft space this afternoon. I can share some of my work with you but not all as some were made for upcoming design team challenges, trying to keep in front of commitments. But anywho onto the creation that I can share now … This card started with my favourite place … a sketch and an adorable Bunny image but more on that later. To start with here is my card.
Isn’t this image just adorable it is called Kawaii Bunny … I think that this image could be used for several occasions so I am going to stick this card in my any occasion stash. The image was coloured in with my Prismacolour Pencils and I used purple stickles on the heart on the belly. This card started out with a sketch from Sketch Saturday #575 and this is it
This sketch will become one of my favourites I think; it will be easy to use with any of my paper packs and also leaves space for me to have fun with colouring images as well.
Thanks for stopping in and looking at my creation. I really appreciate all of the comments and likes on my posts. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought.
Yes, another card made from my scraps drawer. I am so happy to be working through this drawer. I thought that I would never find ways to use this and stuff from my stash. As with most of my cards, this one started out with this inspiration from a sketch. This time around it is Sketch Saturday #574.
And this is the card that I made using this as my starting point.
I need to admit that I almost threw this card in the bin several times – me and my cutter were not on the same page! I cut things wrong and those pieces are now in the bin. But I finally got it all together even though I didn’t follow my own measurements exactly I still thought that it followed the sketch.
Thanks for stopping in and looking at my creation. I appreciate all the likes and comments on my posts. Before you leave I would like to leave you with this final thought.
I am combining 2 challenges this time around.
Catch the Bugs
and this Sketch Saturday sketch
Well with this combination this is the card that I came up with.
I had already coloured in this adorable puppy “Scruffy Puppy” by Bugaboo Digi Stamps with my Copic markers. I just added the hearts above his head and added the grass and clouds once I knew what I wanted to do with the image. I printed the sentiment on my computer because I couldn’t find something that I liked.
Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. Before you go I want to leave you with this thought
This Thursday is Valentines Day. I want everyone to love where they are even if they aren’t going to be with anyone. When you look back on things what do you remember the most?
A second card for today. It’s so good to be in my craft space more often at the moment. So while this is the way of things I am making the most of it. And here is the 2nd creation for tonight.
I had coloured in this image ‘Kidz Rose Boy‘ by Bugaboo Digi Stamps with my Copic Markers then I thought that I would suit the sketch from Sketch Saturday if I orientated it differently.
The papers this time around is from my stash and I am unsure where I got it from. But again I used some Washi Tape which I adhered to white paper first for the banners. And once I adhered the image to the main panel I used my stamp platform to make sure that I didn’t miss stamp the sentiment at this point in the project. I wrapped a strip of silver around the top but didn’t realise that it wasn’t straight until after I adhered it to the card so I had to leave it as is.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. Please consider liking my post or even leaving a comment I like receiving feedback on my projects. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought.
Sometimes I think that we look at ourselves too critically. And don’t realise how wonderful and unique we truly are. You are a unique creation of God – all you have to be is You.
Hello everyone. You may be asking why I named my post Birthday Squared. Well I am not one for making using squared shaped cards. I usually stick with the regular rectangle shape because it doesn’t produce any waste and you can get two cards from a A4 sheet of card stock. Where as with a square shaped card you can only get one decent sized card from a sheet but you have leftovers. I mean I won’t waste this of course because it will be used for a sentiment later but you know I’m sure …
… anywho onto the reason you stopped by my blog today to see my creation
I was quite lucky with this card that I was able to jump into my leftovers drawer and find everything that I needed to make this card. The newest product used on this card is actually the Happy Birthday die which I actually cut apart to use on this card.
But this whole square card making started because of the sketch over at Sketch Saturday
Isn’t this a great sketch. I usually stretch these kinds of sketches to suit an A6 sized card but I decided to try and design within the square. Before cutting the birthday die as its so large I backed the paper with some double sided paper to make the sticking to the project easier. As I wanted to try and not take up the whole front with this die; I sacrificed some of the flowers from the die to make it fit as I have. And the double sided paper really saved me after I decided to cut the original die-cut apart. Piecing it together after its surgery was easier because I didn’t have to put wet glue onto some really small pieces.
I think that this card could actually suit anyone and I may end up making more square cards in the future but that is to be seen. Thanks for stopping by my blog today. To let me know that you have stopped by consider liking my post and even commenting to let me know what you think of it. And as always before you leave I would like to leave you with this final thought
Love Star Trek and like decorating for Christmas but so glad that I don’t have anyone who is particular how they are placed.
Have a Happy Crafty Decorated Kind of Day, ❤ Tracy B
Hello everyone. I had so much fun making my previous card that I had to colour another one of the fun cat images that I have. When I have some down time I colour images that make me smile and then I have images ready to put onto cards. I have 2 favourite mediums that I like to colour with – Copic Markers and Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils. This image I coloured with my Copic Markers.
Then over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge their theme for October is Christmas pets so I had the perfect image coloured for this challenge.
And if you been to my blog before you know that I love making cards using a sketch. So I searched my favourite sketch sites and found #536 by Sketch Saturday that I thought would suit my cute cat image.
The papers that I used are by Kasiercraft. This paper pack was called Mistletoe and the scalloped border came from this paper pack as well. The sentiment I actually made on my computer and printed it at the same time as the cat image.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and read my blog. And as always before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought
Oh this gave me just the giggle that I needed today. But I will admit that sometimes I am that person who does pull a push door. Have a great day no matter which side of this quote you are on.
