AHSC #459

Hello Everyone. Today’s card features a sketch from Michelle over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. If you have been too my blog before you know that I love creating with sketches.

The sketch is set out for a slimline card but I don’t have any supplies to be able to create one of these so I created with this sketch to make an A6 sized card which is standard for Australia. This is one thing that I love about sketches they can be a wonderful jumping off point for your creations and you can use them to fit the supplies that you have.

This card was made with some very soft pink patterned paper from an older Kasiercraft paper pad. And these Zinnia flower stamps have been sitting in my stash for quite a number of years. Too the point of them turning yellow but they still stamp as crisp as the day I bought them. After I stamped them using my stamp positioner and some My Favorite Things Black Hybrid Ink I coloured them in with my Copic Markers. I thought that the purple would offset againt the main pink elements well and they did 🙂 Once I had finished colouring in the images I fussy cut around them.

Then I put the rest of the elements together. I put double sided backing paper onto some lightweight black paper before running this through my Gemini Jnr with the 3 window die called Card Creator 2 from Paper Rose Studios. To make things a little easier on myself I just peeled off the release paper from the die cut and laid this over the top of the pink & gold dot paper and then cut around it instead of inlaying each piece. I attached this to the middle of my cards main panel with my ATG and then added the Zinnia flowers with some Nuvo glue. Then I picked out a sentiment from the Black & White Sentiment Sheets from Paper Rose Studios. This is one of the white sentiments that I coloured purple with some Distress Inks as the white was just too stark for the rest of the elements on the card and I added some purple iridesent circle stickers to finish.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card as part of the design team for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will create along with the sketch and show us your creations over at the challenge blog. Before you go off and continue with your day I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,

52CCT January 2022 Colour Challenge

Hello everyone. Here we are with the 2nd challenge for 2022 over at the Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge and this time around it is a colour challenge. I have to admit that these challenges always throw my for a loop as I always doubt my choices. But this time around we have these colours to create with.

I found this Christmas paper pack on my desk and in it was both this hessian looking paper and the dark brown paper with golden Christmas words on it. I then just had to bring in the mid-brown colour from the challenge and this gave me the colour for my matting.

I wanted to add an image to the card so I went looking in my stamps to find something suitable and found this adorable deer image which I stamped onto some of the hessian looking paper and coloured him in with my Copic markers. Then I made a window for him to peek through by double cutting a piece of the matting paper with a stitched circle and then a smaller plain circle die using my Gemini Jnr machine. Before piecing all of the layers together I found this sentiment stamp and using my stamping platform I used some Rich Cocoa Memento Ink to stamp the image a couple of times to get a deep colour.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design for the Colour challenge over at 52CCT. I hope that you will come and create along with us and share your makeover on our challenge blog. Before I go I would love to leave you with this final thought for this post.

This is on my to do list this year – wonder how many treasures I’ll uncover in the process.

Until my next post,

AHSC #455

Hello Everyone. How has the beginning of your year gone? Mine has been good. I have had some opportunities to create in my craft space which has been nice and I am involved with my design team makes. This time around I have made a card using a sketch by Michelle from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

I found these 2 different papers on my desk which were part of the same paper pad at first I didn’t think that they were going to work together. The thing that I think helped to pair them together was the mat behind the circle element. What do you think – do you think that they worked together?

This is a very short post as I am off on a trip with my family but I wanted to share my make with you using the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will create along with us and share your makes with us over on the challenge blog.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

Word Flower

Hello everyone; how is your day going so far? As I write this it is early Saturday morning in Australia so I still have the day in front of me. Yesterday afternoon I was able to make some cards and the one that I am sharing was inspired by a sketch.

As you can see by the sketch I have followed it quite closely. The choice of the Word Flower stamp which has been sitting in my stash for at least over a decade was what started this card make off. I stamped it with MFT Black Hybrid Ink and then sponged Victorian Velvet and Mustard Seed Distressed Inks. I used my detailed scissors to cut out the image.

The paper pad is called Plant Life and I layered everything with Emerald lightweight card. Then I cut 3 circles out of Gold vinyl leftovers from my Cricut cuttings. I don’t throw these away as I can use my Gemini Jnr and dies to use up these little pieces. This finished off my card make. Thanks for taking the time to stop on by and look at my card make for Try Stamping On Tuesday Challenge #522.

Until my next post,

Happy Anniversary

Hello everyone, today I am here to share with you a card that I made with the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

And this is the card that I made with this sketch

06 20th TMS610

The picture is actually a Winter image but I decided that I wanted to be in more Spring than the Winter weather that I am experiencing at the moment. So while using my Copic markers to colour this image I added leaves to the branches and bushes plus grass to give a more spring feel to it. I did also use my MFT cloud stencil behind everything as well but the colour I used is quite subtle. The anniversary sentiment is from the Phil Martin Essential Sentiments Set.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and looking at my card make for the Tuesday Morning Sketches #610. I hope that today will find you doing something that you truly love.

Until my next post,
Be kind to Yourself and others.

Wonderful You

Hello Everyone,
I am here to share with you a card that could be used for multiple occasions. This is because of the image that I chose to use on this card. But this card started with a sketch first and then I found an image that would work with the design and this is the card that I came up with.

08 04 Wonderful You

Because this sentiment is such a general one this card will be able to be used for so many different occasions. And this is the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches #514 which started this card making off.

TMS 514

The off the project square threw me at first but then I decided to actually cut the layers instead of laying the items on top. I think that this helped to make this card look quite unique even though it is a simple design.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card even though I am running close to the shut off for this sketch challenge. I really appreciate all of your comments and likes on my creations. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought

Creative and beautiful

Until Next Time,
Tracy B

Moon Monsters?

Hello Everyone,
The card today is inspired by a card challenge and a world event. When I saw this sketch from Mojo Monday #519

I was watching a TV Documentary called “Chasing The Moon” about the 50th Anniversary of the moon landing. The round element and the stars started the creation of this card.

07 21 Moon Monsters

The wonderful cute monsters are from the set “Out of this World” by Uniquely Creative. I had them already sitting in my coloured image pile and knew that they were what this card needed to finish it off. These images were coloured in with my Prismacolour Pencils and I embossed the background with a star folder from Craft Concepts. The papers used are from a paper pack by Kasiercraft called “Stargazer”, I think that I will be getting a 2nd pack of this paper pack I love using it.

I want to thank you for stopping in and looking at my project. Please consider leaving a comment or a like before you go. I hope you will stop by again sometime. Now before you depart I would like to leave you with this last thought.

A Chilled Birthday

Hello Everyone, I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was very low key this year but it was spent with family and friends. First friends at our Church service and then family in Toowoomba, Queensland.

Have you organised your New Years Eve plans yet?  I plan on going to our church’s Hope service. It’s a prayer service where we bring in the New Year together praying over our family, friends and Hopes for the coming year.

Today I felt like sitting at my card crafting table and making some cards.  This is one of my efforts:
ChilledBirthday
This card was inspired by 2 card challenges.
 GAH! Pink Challenge
and also
Time Out Challenge #99

I loved looking through my stamp pile to try and find a Christmas Image that would suit a non-Christmas Card.  I found this stamp set

This set if from the wonderful magazine Creative Stamping and this was issue #50.  Aren’t the images adorable!! I loved how they included the Chill Out sentiment and other so that this set could be used for all types of different occasions.  I am really happy with how this card turned out.

Well I’m off to make more craft!! Either cards or I do have that weaving project I have waiting for me or I might just chill out with my kids.  But before you leave please consider leaving a comment or hitting the like button.

And as always I want to leave you with this parting thought:

Have a Happy Crafty Fun Kind of Day
