Hello Everyone. Today’s card features a sketch from Michelle over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. If you have been too my blog before you know that I love creating with sketches.
The sketch is set out for a slimline card but I don’t have any supplies to be able to create one of these so I created with this sketch to make an A6 sized card which is standard for Australia. This is one thing that I love about sketches they can be a wonderful jumping off point for your creations and you can use them to fit the supplies that you have.
This card was made with some very soft pink patterned paper from an older Kasiercraft paper pad. And these Zinnia flower stamps have been sitting in my stash for quite a number of years. Too the point of them turning yellow but they still stamp as crisp as the day I bought them. After I stamped them using my stamp positioner and some My Favorite Things Black Hybrid Ink I coloured them in with my Copic Markers. I thought that the purple would offset againt the main pink elements well and they did 🙂 Once I had finished colouring in the images I fussy cut around them.
Then I put the rest of the elements together. I put double sided backing paper onto some lightweight black paper before running this through my Gemini Jnr with the 3 window die called Card Creator 2 from Paper Rose Studios. To make things a little easier on myself I just peeled off the release paper from the die cut and laid this over the top of the pink & gold dot paper and then cut around it instead of inlaying each piece. I attached this to the middle of my cards main panel with my ATG and then added the Zinnia flowers with some Nuvo glue. Then I picked out a sentiment from the Black & White Sentiment Sheets from Paper Rose Studios. This is one of the white sentiments that I coloured purple with some Distress Inks as the white was just too stark for the rest of the elements on the card and I added some purple iridesent circle stickers to finish.
Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card as part of the design team for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will create along with the sketch and show us your creations over at the challenge blog. Before you go off and continue with your day I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.
