52CCT August 2021 Stash Challenge

Hello everyone. Yes it is week 4 of August which means a choice between a Stash or Technique challenge. And we have a Stash Challenge.

I love stencils but I must admit that I don’t use them as much as I should. So this challenge gave me the opportunity to get out a stencil and have some fun.

My creation this time started with an image this watercoloured robin which come from an artist by the name of Evgeniia from EvgeniiaArt on Etsy. This robin is from her Watercolor Christmas Clipart Set. The stenciled background used 2 Distress Ink colours of Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint and the Leafy Stencil from Tim Holtz I used these on a piece of cream coloured watercolour cardstock. The sentiment is from Paper Rose Studio Sentiment Sheets – Crisp Christmas. I added some Nuvo Drops in the Woodland Green colour as a finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team make for the Stash Challenge of Stencils for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge blog. I hope that you will stop on by the other designers and see what they have done with this challenge. And I hope that you will come and create along with us and show us your creations at our blog.

Until my next post,

52CCT July 2021 Stash Challenge

Hello everyone. Here we are at the end of July and the last challenge with Andreja as our hostess. I must admit that I almost threw this card in the bin part way through the make but I persevered and ended up with this.

You may be asking why this almost went in the bin. Well it has to do with the window – when I die cut it out of adhesive backed gold shimmer cardstock I noticed that it had left the imprint of the inside of the die. I think that I had too many shims because of the addition of adhesive it was thicker than I realized. Once I added the Holy Family sticker to the vellum and placed the window over it I thought that it helped to add to a pretty simple card.

The background paper is actually a piece of cardstock that I used some distress ink and a Nordic stencil on while just playing in my craft space one day. I cut it down and added some lilac light weight cardstock behind it and added it to a white card base. I thought that it gave the card just enough extra to show off the vellum window on this card.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my design team make for the July Stash challenge over at 52CCT. I hope that you will come and play with our challenges sometime they are lots of fun and change each week. May you find yourself doing something that you love today.

52CCT June 2021 Technique Stash Challenge

Hi Everyone. For the month of June I have been the hostess for the challenges over at the 52Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge and here we are with the final challenge. I got to choose between a Technique or Stash Challenge but I decided to combine them together because I could.

Now with a Tic Tac Toe challenge you get to choose a line of elements to create with. So it can be left to right on either line or top to bottom on either line or diagonal. Lots of choices to be made.

06 2021 Wk4 StashTech

So for my creation I chose a diagonal which is Tag/Patterned Paper/Ribbon or Twine. The llama image I had coloured in with my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils a while ago and while putting my craft space back together after renovations I found this tag die in my stash. It all came together well after I found these elements.

I hope that you will come and play along with our challenge over at 52CCT. I want to send a shout out to all of the other designers and thank them for all of their wonderful creations with my choices for the June challenges. Thanks for stopping in on my blog today.

Until my next post,

52CCT May 2021 Stash Challenge

05 2021 Wk4 Technique

Hello everyone. Here we are at the end of May and we have a technique challenge to try out over on the 52Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge.

Here is a link to a YouTube video by Jennifer McGuire showing this technique. I hadn’t come across this technique before but using the instructions from Jennifer I produced this card which was a pain to try and photograph. But it was interesting trying something different with some products in my stash that I hadn’t even opened.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card for this Stash Challenge over at the 52CCT blog. I hope that you will stop on by the other designers and have a look at what they have done. And then come and play along with the challenge.

Until my next post,

July Technique and Stash Challenge

Hello everyone. Can you believe that we are at the end of July already. I think that when you are working ahead with design teamwork you realize how fast the year is going by. I mean we only have 5 months until Christmas is here.

This week is the Technique or Stash Challenge and we have a

I know that this said that it is a technique challenge but it could also be a stash challenge because we have to go hunting in our stash of sewing supplies if we wish to use real stitching. But I have done pen stitching around both the card base and the image.

I had a lot of fun with this cat sitting under the mistletoe image. I had been wanting to use her for quite a while. The size of the image panel was actually determined by the leftover piece of Christmas paper that I found in my stash – I liked it and I didn’t want to waste it and this card design was perfect for it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and looking at my Design Team work for this week. I hope that you will stop on by 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and have a look at what the other designers have been up to. Before you go on over there though I would love to leave you with this final thought for this post.

Until my next post,

June Technique and Stash for 52CCT

Hello everyone, I am here with a quick post for the last challenge for June and this time around it is a combination challenge. And that Challenge is

Becci wants us all to do the Technique of Clusters (min. of 3) and see through our Stash for the Embellishments to use. This one threw me for quite a while but this this the card that I came up with.

06 Wk4 Tech Stash

Oh my – trying to photograph this card – argh why do I do these things to myself? But anywho – I clustered together 2 different embellishments together – the arrows were from the paper pad already pre-made (but I could have made my own if needed 😀 ) and then my golden stars which have been hanging out in my stash forever and a day.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Design Team project. I hope that you will come on over to the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge blog and see what the others have done with Becci’s challenge. Before you depart my blog though I would like to leave you with this final thought for this post.

May Stash Technique Challenge for 52CCT

Hello everyone, I am here with my last hostess duty for May as it is time for a Technique or Stash Challenge for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I have had so much fun hosting the challenges during May and I want to thank everyone who joined in over the month.

So any way onto this weeks challenge. As I said it was a choice between Stash and Technique and I chose

04 May technique

Well, technically this is a both Stash and Technique challenge because we are digging into our stash to find those long ago bought embossing folders which I am sure haven’t been used lately to do this technique. Or you could be digging into your embossing powder stash to find just the right colour to now use for this technique. See what I mean about it being really about both 🙂

05 Wk4 Stash Tech

The background I embossed with a folder that I have loved for a long time because it reminded me of the flowers I see in Australia during Christmas. And then I coloured it with my watercolours and highlighted certain areas with darker pen. The sentiment is actually the combination of 2 stamp sets a Birthday set for the Happy and a Christmas set for the Christmas Greetings.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Stash/Technique Card for the challenge happening over at the 52CCT. I hope that you will pop on over to the blog and see what the other design team have gotten up to this week. And maybe consider joining in on the fun with your own project. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Not as much in my craft room after I have been making different types of cards for the past couple of months.

Until my next post,

52CCT February Stash

Hello everyone, it is the 4th week of February and over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge, it is a choice between a Technique or Stash Challenge. So for her last challenge for this month, Netta has chosen –

04 February stash

So we are going to be able to pull out our foils. I know that you have them lurking in your stash somewhere. You can use any type of foil – craft foil, go press foil, deco foil, hot stamping foil, gold leaf foil or even foil from your kitchen (some call it aluminium or tin foil). I you want to use foil from the kitchen … here is a video to help you with that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZkC_axbeUE

02 Wk4 Tech Stash

For my card, I used kitchen foil. I put large sized double-sided tape onto a sheet of cardstock and then layered the foil over this and smoothed it out. Then cut off the access and ran this whole sheet through my Gemini Jnr Machine with this embossing folder. While I had my Gemini running I also ran through a scallop circle die and plain circle die, then stamped this sentiment on the circle and mounted this on the card. This was done after I had run a black pen around the words on the embossed panel just to help the words to stand out a bit better.

Thanks for coming and looking at my Design Team project for the latest challenge over at the 52CCT challenge. I hope that you will come on over to our blog and participate in our challenge. Before you depart from my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

52CCT July Stash

Hello Everyone,

I am here for my last post as a hostess over on the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. Since it is the 4th week of the month it is time to choose between a Technique or a Stash Challenge. I chose to go with a Stash Challenge, and we won’t talk about how big those are … will we!

But the stash item I want you to dust off is

I know that I have a lot of ribbon in my stash and it doesn’t get used as often as it should. I don’t know why because I love that little something that it adds to a project.

And this is the card that I made with some of my ribbon

I got to also use one of the images that has been sitting in my done pile for a while. This cute little Elf is from Faery Ink. When I was colouring her in with my Prismacolour Pencils I decided to try multi-colour hair as I had never tried this before and I am quite happy with the results.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team work for the last hosting duties of this month. I will be back on the blog next week to announce the winner of the stash challenge. Please come on over to 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge and play along with the challenge. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

52CCT April Stash Challenge

Hello Everyone,
Today I am working with the team over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and it is week 4 of the month so we are up to our stash or technique challenge. And our hostess EK has gone with a stash challenge of

04 technique

I am sure that we have a lot of printed papers in our stash just waiting for the “perfect” card to go onto. When I read this challenge I knew the card that I wanted to make and this is what I made

52CCT 04 2019 wk4 Stash

This card is actually made from scraps. I keep all of the large scraps from cutting 6X6 papers down to make cards and I use them to make cards like this. This quilt die really helps me to use up every scrap that I have and this way I get to showcase many different holiday papers.

Thanks for stopping in to look at my design team work for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I hope that you will come over and play along with our latest challenge. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought.
