Sketch Saturday #610

Hello everyone, how is your day going? Mine is going quite well – I am having a good pain day so I am getting a few things ticked off of my to-do list. So I am getting a few posts uploaded some going live now and some in the future for my Design Team commitments.

But any who onto the reason you stopped on by – my card project. Well I must admit that this sketch stumped me when I first saw it pop up but I figured it out and the sentiment was unfortunately needed.

And this is the sketch #610 from Sketch Saturday that gave me so much trouble.

I didn’t add any embellishments to this card once I knew that I needed to make this card into a sympathy card. I didn’t think that it suited. But I did want it to have a little bit of difference so I stamped the gum leaves and Protea flowers around the sympathy sentiment just to give it something.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

Until my next post,
🙂 Tracy

Vase of Love

Hello Everyone, I am sorry that I haven’t been blogging much of late but I am having problems with my left shoulder which is impeding on my crafting big time. I have found a couple of things that I can do without too much pain which has saved me from going completely around the bend. Crafting for me is my way of de-stressing from the world so to not be able to do it to the extent that I would love to be able to do it is frustrating.

But I am here to share with you a card that I made during one of my periods of not so much pain 😀

09 18 Vase of Flowers

As with most of my card making this card started with a sketch and this time around it is a sketch from Sketch Saturday. My card is only slightly different from the sketch because I couldn’t fit 6 strips just because of the size of my image panel. But here is sketch #581 from Sketch Saturday for you to look at.

The image is one that has been sitting in my stash for a little while wondering when it might have a chance at being on a card. I have used black paper for the layering and the papers I used are from Recollections the mega pack of black and white that I picked up just a little while ago. The sentiment is from a stamp set called “Here for You” by Waffle Flower.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. I am glad that you stopped on by and before you leave I would like to share this last thought for this post.

Stamp Stash Diving

Hello Everyone. Today I decided to go diving into my physical stamp stash. I have so many and I just don’t use them. I seem to go down either a digital stamp that I have previously printed or no image at all. I am trying to find ways to get more space in my craft space so I have decided that if I am not going to use them then they can be donated to someone who will enjoy them.

But I am sure you know what happens when you start exploring your stash … yes, that’s right you find things that you still like to use. Anyway more on the treasures that I found later. I am here to share with you the card that was made with my finds. As with any of my cards this card started with a sketch and this one is from Stella Says Sketch #714.

It is such a simple sketch and usually, I would use a Bugaboo image but my stash was looking at me and I ended up making this card.

09 12 Zinnia Sympathy

I decided to make a sympathy card as my stash is lacking this type of card and you never know when you may need one of these … unfortunately. This stamp has been sitting in my stash for quite a while and I am unsure who made it but I still love it. The papers that I used are from a huge Recollections pack that has so much paper in it I think that I will split some of it up and give it away to someone else.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. I really appreciate all of the comments on my blogs. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

With Sympathy

Hello Everyone,
These types of cards are still the hardest for me to create so when inspiration strikes I take it. The thing that started the inspiration was the lighthouse in the sunset. But the card as most of my card projects start with … a sketch. So this is the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketch #512.

TMS 512

And this is the card that came out from using that sketch.

07 21 With Sympathy

The papers that I used came from my stash I thought that they all worked with the main image.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. I am happy to be creating again even if it isn’t constant. Each time that I am able to sit behind my craft desk I am grateful. Before you go I would like to leave you with this final thought for this post.

Moving on without people is the quietest and best revenge. Small things don't matter when someone is meant to be in your life. If small things ruin a relationship or friendship it was never real to begin with. Count it a belssing they were removed to make space for better.... Oh Boy have I found better! Love my boyfriend❤ love my friends❤ I am so very blessed

Sympathy Hard to Craft

Hello Everyone,
The card that I am bringing you today is on a subject that crafters including myself find hard to do – sympathy. But this is a part of our lives just like all the other ones so I have decided that I need to craft these in amongst my other ones so that I don’t have to try and craft this particular type of card when I am in the situation.

01 14 for your loss

Something that you may notice about this card from my usual cards is the background to the photo. I am actually crafting while away with family and don’t have my usual setup so this is the dining table of our accommodation.

But anywho onto the card … This is an older Bugaboo image that I have coloured in with my Polychromos pencils. I printed this image onto the plaid paper that is behind it. The papers are from the Kasiercraft 6X6 paper pack Sweet Pea. The placement inspiration for this card came from this card sketch

stella says 701

This is the first sketch for the year from this challenge site. The papers are from a Kasiercraft paper pad called ‘Sweet Pea’. All of my matting is done with some Sunshine Yellow paper. My sentiment comes from Uniquely Creatives Banner Sentiment Builder clear stamp set. I like this set as its quite useful for many different occasions.
Thanks for coming by to look at my project please consider leaving a comment before you leave to let me know that you have stopped on by. And also before you go I would love to leave you with this final thought
Thinking about the end of life makes me consider what I will be leaving behind when I do go. Is what I am going to leave how I want to be remembered? Some things yes other things not so much. So I am working on changing the things I’m not so happy with. What about you – will you be remembered in the way you want to be?

Until Next Time,

Sympathy Bird

Hello Everyone,
I think that most card makers would agree that there is 2 types of cards that we don’t have an easy time making. Those 2 being Masculine and Sympathy cards.

Well today I was requested by a friend to make a sympathy card for her Son and his Girlfriend. She has just lost her beloved Grandmother.  So I set about finding an image that I thought would be suitable and a colour combination that I thought would work.

I remember the colour combination that Color Throwdown has at the moment and then I looked at one of my favourite card sketch blogs and I liked the sketch that was being used at the moment.

Color Throwdown #495 and Case this Sketch #274

and this is my interpretation of this combo
Sympathy Bird.jpgThis bird image is from the Australian Simply Cards magazine Issue 117.  It is actually a layering stamp and this was my first time using such a set and I have to say I had a lot of fun with it.  I gold heat embossed the sympathy sentiment its very subtle but I like it.

I would like to thank you for stopping by my project and blog today. And as always I would like to leave you with this thought:

Sympathy Not Easy

Hello Everyone, the card I am bringing you today is a type of card that I do not like making but then again who does? This is a type of card that we don’t like making but unfortunately this event does happen in our lives or that of our friends.

When I was thinking about making this card I wanted to make something that had some happy colours. The reason behind this is that so many of the funerals that I have attended have been a celebration of the persons life. And many of these people lived a colourful and full life – like my beautiful Mum who passed away earlier this year.

Anywho onto the card creation:
Sympathy Swirls.jpgI am really happy with how it turned out. It’s colourful but also simple. For this card I used my Distress Inks in Fired Brick, Wild Honey and Worn Lipstick to colour over the Tim Holtz Scribbles Stencil. The With Sympathy sentiment comes from a collection by the Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine from the UK.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. And now I would like to leave you with a thought before you leave:

Thanks Mum and Dad, I miss you both quite often.
