52CCT August 2022 Theme Challenge

Hello Everyone. Today I am sharing my card design for the theme challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. Themes can be interesting depending on how you interpret them.

When I saw this theme I decided to put an Aussie twist into my make this week. I went with what a Summer Santa would be up to.

As you can see Santa isn’t in the snow – he’s having a wonderful time out on a lake waterskiing. Many times when we have been on holiday at Christmas this is how Santa would arrive or by another watercraft – fully dressed in his suit with a goody bag for the kids.

This image is a free kid’s colouring-in page which I have shrunk down to fit on an A6-sized card front. I have coloured in the picture with my Copic markers. But I have added some Liquid Pearls in White Opal to his beard to give it a bushy appearance.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design for the 52CCT Theme. I hope that you will come and craft along with us and upload your makes to our challenge blog.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to yourself and others.

52CCT June 2022 Theme

Hello everyone. It is the 3rd Saturday in June which means we are up for a Theme Challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. And this week’s theme

For my make, I decided to look through the images that I had on my computer and I found this adorable Puppy in a basket. I printed this image onto thick white cardstock and mounted him onto some Maroon light-weight cardstock. The sentiment is from Paper Rose Studios Crisp Christmas Sentiment Sheets and to finish off this card I also used their Clear Crystal Mix which gives just a little bit of sparkle to the card.

52CCT May 2022 Theme Challenge

Hello everyone. I am here today to share with you my creation using the theme that I chose as hostess this month over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. And the theme that I chose is.

As a Christian, I love celebrating the reason for this wonderful season. And it all began with the Nativity. God gave to the world the greatest gift that could have ever been given. So to celebrate this moment in history I made this card.

This image is from the patterned paper pad called Christmas Night from Paper Rose Studios. I cut this image out using my Stitched Border Rectangle Dies (Australian Sized) from Paper Rose as well. The sentiment I made on my computer and printed on cardstock before cutting it out and rounding the corners with my punch. I mounted my panel onto some gold shimmer cardstock and some maroon cardstock as well. Then to finish off the card I added 5 Mustard Gold Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my creation using the Theme – Nativity – over at the 52CCT challenge. I hope that you will consider coming on by and creating along with myself and the design team.

Until My Next Post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

52CCT April 2022 Theme Challenge

Hello everyone. Today on the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog we have a new theme challenge starting. These can be interesting to create with each month and it’s interesting to see how other people use these themes as well.

I loved the sketch from week 1 so much that I decided to reuse it for this card creation as well. I told you that I love using sketches in my card creations.

The image I used is actually 2 digital images from Bugaboo who are unfortunately no longer in business but I still love using these images because they are so darn cute. To colour this image in I used my Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils and then I sponged the edge with some Mowed Lawn Distress Ink with a sponge dauber. The sentiment comes from Paper Rose Studios Sentiment Sheets – Crisp Christmas. This was a simpler make but I wanted to highlight the image this time around and not the patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card creation for the theme challenge over on the 52CCT. I hope that you will create along with us and share your makes over on the blog.

Until my next post,

52CCT March 2022 Theme Challenge

Hello everyone. Welcome to the March theme challenge over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge.

This card is on the simpler side for me but putting it together took more time than some of my other cards. To make this card I followed these steps
1. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 8cm square
2. Place this piece of cardstock into my stamp platform on a wreath jig
3. Because of the size of the cardstock and stamp I only stamped this 4 times instead of the 8 times that is possible
4. Stamped and inked the sentiment stamp 3 times in different Memento inks protecting each part with a post-it to prevent cross-contamination of the different colours.
5. Coloured in the holly & berries with my Copic markers
6. Inked the edge of the panel with Faded Denim Distress Ink and a blending brush

After making the image panel I cut some multi-colour gingham paper to fit the front of a card before matting this with red lightweight cardstock; I added 3 blue mirror pinstripe stickers from Love From Lizi to the lower part of the panel. The image panel I matted with the same red cardstock before adding foam squares to add a little depth to the card.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card for the theme challenge over at 52CCT. I hope that you come and create along with us and share your makes over on the challenge site. Before you go I would like to leave you with this final thought for this post.

Until my next post,

52CCT February 2022 Theme

Hi everyone. This is going to be an ultra-short post today as I am off to a craft group in person … I am happy that these are back up and running again. Anyway onto our theme over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge.

I am not 100% sure if this is fully masculine but the colours are what I would use and I have definitely cut back on the number of layers and such. But I couldn’t just leave it plain so I added some Love from Lizi Pinstripe Red Glitter stickers to just give a little bit of a pop. The sentiment is actually a sticker that was originally silver but I have coloured it in with a dark red Copic marker as I didn’t like the look of the silver.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card make for the Theme challenge over at 52CCT. I hope that you will come and create with us and show us your makes over on our challenge blog. Before I go to my craft group I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post.

52CCT January 2022 Theme Challenge

Hello everyone. I am here to show you my make for the theme challenge over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge.

I must admit to being a little stumped with this challenge. But this is what I made using this theme.

I had some fun with some distress inks to make the sky and some shimmer mist from Kasiercraft. I didn’t actually have a stamp set suitable so I found this one and instead of colouring in the house with colour I turned them into a silhouette instead. The rest of the card I kept pretty simple but I am happy with the results.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my design team project for the theme challenge over at 52CCT. I hope that you will come and create along with us and share your creations with us. Before I go I would like to leave you with this thought for this post.

Until my next post,

52CCT December 2021 Review Challenge

Hello everyone. I love the variety of different challenges that we have over at the 52Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. This whole month is a fun look back at the challenges of 2021.

**REVIEW OF 2021**

I have chosen to highlight the Theme Challenge from May 🙂 I had 2 ideas for this challenge; I did the other one for the actual challenge so I was able to go ahead and make my 2nd card idea for this challenge. So what we want you to do is have some fun with is; take a stroll through our previous challenges chose one that catches your fancy and make a card and upload it to our blog. Don’t forget to mention in your blog which one you have chosen to highlight. Here is a reminder of the Theme for May.

What started this design was finding the watercolour background paper while looking for my metallic paper. I thought that it looked like an early evening sky and this is where this design started. Plus also had the idea of putting it all into a frame which was easier with my Gemini Jnr machine helping me out. After cutting out the trees and the frames the sky was looking a little bare that is when I thought about putting a Santa into the sky above the trees. And I have this wonderful Aussie-inspired Santa’s Sleigh with Kangaroos Die from Paper Rose Studios. So I cut him out of black heavyweight paper which I backed with double-sided adhesive beforehand so that I wouldn’t end up with a nightmare of trying to stick it down or glue going everywhere.

While I had my Gemini Jnr Electronic Die Cutting Machine on I used an older die pack from Kasiercraft called Christmas Word Pack Decorative Dies to cut out Happy Christmas from Gold Paper which I backed again with adhesive. I had so much fun creating this card.

I am glad that you stopped in and looked at my card design for the December Pick A Previous Challenge over at 52Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. Maybe you will consider coming on over and playing along with our challenge. This challenge is for the whole month of December so you have plenty of time to play along.

Until my next post,

52CCT November 2021 Theme Challenge

Hello everyone. It is the 3rd week of November and it is theme creating time with the 52 Christmas Cards Throwdown Challenge.

When I first saw this theme I thought that I knew what I would be making but then I saw this photo and my card took a different direction. This photo showed a wonderful display of fairy lights and reminded me of when I saw this – it was a light spectacular that was held locally. Unfortunately this hasn’t been able to be held the past couple of years but we may be able to go this year.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card creation for the challenge over at 52CCT. I hope that you will come and create along with us using this theme. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Until my next post,

52CCT September 2021 Theme

Hello everyone. It is the 3rd Saturday of September and it is theme challenge time over on the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge.

What a fun theme challenge to be creating with. When I was first told about this challenge my mind first went with a jar of candy. I had an image in mind but then couldn’t find it anywhere. So I then turned to my new Cricut Joy machine; getting this together was interesting because I was trying to size the drawing outline properly and then get the cut line inside to cooperate and also the printing of the inside of the jar didn’t go to plan at all and yeah well… lets just say that the recycling got a few bit of card added to it during this making. But I got there in the end.

This creation was both fun and frustrating but I am glad I stuck with it because I really like the end result. Thanks for stopping in and looking at my design team make for 52Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I hope that you will come and create along with us with this theme challenge.

Until my next post,
