Hello everyone. Here we are in the middle of December … how did that happen? I thought that I still had time to get things ready for Christmas but it’s coming faster than I want. But I have already got my cards done for this year but my other types of cards have gone downs as I have been working on Christmas cards. So with this sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge I have taken the opportunity to make a card for my regular stash.
To make this card I have gone into my dies for both the bird and foliage. These are from Paper Rose Studio – the foliage I use quite often but I think this may be the first time I have used the bird die. I got my Gemini Jnr out and for the bird, I cut it out once from dark blue cardstock and then glued it down to the maroon cardstock and cut around it with my detail scissors for the two colour effect. The foliage dies I cut from green cardstock but one of the pieces I put a little distress ink onto before cutting to give the die cuts a little difference from each other.
The papers I used are an older Kasiercraft paper pack but I loved the papers in it and thought that it would suit the dies that I had chosen. The sentiment is one of the cut apart pieces that is in the paper pad. Everything is layered with metallic green paper for the main picture panel I used a deckle cutter to give the rectangle a bit of difference.
Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card make for sketch #451 from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will come and craft along with us and if you do then please upload your makes to our challenge blog.
Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.
