AHSC #451

Hello everyone. Here we are in the middle of December … how did that happen? I thought that I still had time to get things ready for Christmas but it’s coming faster than I want. But I have already got my cards done for this year but my other types of cards have gone downs as I have been working on Christmas cards. So with this sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge I have taken the opportunity to make a card for my regular stash.

AHSC 451

To make this card I have gone into my dies for both the bird and foliage. These are from Paper Rose Studio – the foliage I use quite often but I think this may be the first time I have used the bird die. I got my Gemini Jnr out and for the bird, I cut it out once from dark blue cardstock and then glued it down to the maroon cardstock and cut around it with my detail scissors for the two colour effect. The foliage dies I cut from green cardstock but one of the pieces I put a little distress ink onto before cutting to give the die cuts a little difference from each other.

The papers I used are an older Kasiercraft paper pack but I loved the papers in it and thought that it would suit the dies that I had chosen. The sentiment is one of the cut apart pieces that is in the paper pad. Everything is layered with metallic green paper for the main picture panel I used a deckle cutter to give the rectangle a bit of difference.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card make for sketch #451 from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope that you will come and craft along with us and if you do then please upload your makes to our challenge blog.

Until my next post,

Thinking of You

Hello everyone. A second card inspired by the same 2 challenges from my previous post. So again let me show you the card and then the challenges.

08 30th SS675

As I said this 2nd card came about because of same 2 challenges from my first project. The first challenge is from Just Add Ink #569.

With this challenge they want us to make a project with N being the inspiration. For me this time N is for Native – Native Flowers that is. I love going bushwalking and one of things I love seeing is flowering trees and shrubs but most especially our Australian Flora.

9 Australian native plants and trees to attract wildlife and bees to your apartment balcony or garden – WWF-Australia - WWF-Australia
Two favourite’s together – Australian Flowering Gum & a Lorikeet.

I hope to get back out bushwalking again soon. Hopefully we will see both of these on our next adventure. Now for the 2nd Challenge. It’s a …

… yes – a sketch. I love them and I love creating with them. I stuck really close to Sketch #675 from Sketch Saturday. Instead of the flowers again I used a sentiment cut apart from Paper Rose Studio Black & White Sentiment Sheets. This time just a different sentiment from the same pack.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card that was inspired by both Just Add Ink & Sketch Saturday Challenges. I hope that you will find yourself doing something that you love today… no matter what that may be.

Until my next post,
Be Kind to Yourself and Others.

AHSC no.417

AHSC 417

Hello everyone. Here I am with a new design for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. This card is made with supplies that I last had on my desk as I was packing it all away for renovations and I just unpacked this box and I am now using up these supplies for this challenge.

AHSC 417 Apr 19th 2021

This sketch came along at the right time as I was down to some scraps from this paper pad that I have been using up over the past little while. And this sketch is the perfect one to be able to make use of them. I will definitely be adding this one to my to be used again pile.

So yes this card is made with just left overs and some layering cardstock. The stamp is from Phil Martins Bohemian Sentiments which I had purchased just a month before our move out so it has been patiently waiting for my return to be used on a project. I used some Woodland Green Nuvo Drops but when I hit the card on my desk they went a little wonky, not sure why they don’t usually. But I thought they went with the sentiment so I left well enough alone because I know that if I tried to clean them up they would have made a big mess.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and looking at my design team make for the AHSC no.417. I hope that you will stop by the other designers and see how they got to their creation and then think about joining in with us and sharing your creation.

Until my next post,

Atlantic Hearts 374

Hello everyone, yes another card for today. When I have times of feeling well I make the most of it because you never know what the next hour may have in store. This time around it is an encouragement card.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #374 provided the starting point for this card

This time around I didn’t actually have any of my colouring on this card. But I did stamp one of the flowers from MFT’s Sketched Blooms set. This is a fun set to play around with and I think it finished the tag off nicely. I hope that you liked what I did with the sketch.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card design. Before you depart my blog I would like to leave you with this thought for this post.

Until my next post,

Falling Leaves

Hello Everyone,
Another card inspired by two card challenges again, this is the 2nd card  I have to go into both of these challenges. I just loved the challenge idea so much and it helps me to build up my made card stash.

So the challenges are

and alsof27dc-2523102

And this is the outcome for the combination of these 2 challenges
Falling Leaves.jpg
The leaf stamp set is an older one from Bo Bunny but it’s one of my favorite ones. So I used some painters tape and scrap paper to mask off an area.

I chose to use 3 Distress Inks to achieve the Teal strip. Leaving the painters tape in place I stamped the leaves using both a Green and Red ink on each of the leaves. I was really pleased with how this turned out I think I may make a couple more using this combination.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my creation. And now I would like to leave you with a thought before you leave:

I am definitely not the same I was at the beginning of this year, month, week or even day. It’s just learning to leave with each of the changes that is hard.

Have a Happy Crafty Fun kind of (changing) Day
